Like would be an understatement to describe how I feel about Sia's music. Sia's music speaks to my soul. It lights up my very being. And I hear it on repeat and repeat for nearly every single day of the year. What I love about Sia's music is that it's very soul enriching. It really captivates one's mind and feelings. She also brings in many different types of lyrics, musicality and singing types to blend together powerful, melancholic, soprano music that really speaks to people who are going through difficulties in life. I was first introduced to Sia through a school friend and we would listen to her in my backyard while swinging. We would try to sing it, mimic how she sang and scream at the top of our lungs to her music.

Taylor Swift is one of my favorite singers. She was introduced to me via my mom. She used to be a huge fan of Taylor Swift back when Taylor Swift used to sing country music. I was introduced to her during her teenage and I grew to love her music a lot more once I was a little older. The reason being, her genre from country shifted to pop and later to indie music, especially her two albums, Folklore and Evermore, are two albums I hold close to my heart. The other album I really like is the Tortured Poets Department. I think I really like the way she writes. She is an amazing lyricist. She has a way with words. Her writing is extremely poetic. It connects to the audience and its listeners. She has a way of telling a story with so much rhythm. I think I initially started to like her because when I was a kid, I wanted to play guitar. All of her songs could be played on the guitar back when she used to play country and they were pretty easy chords to play. And I think that is when I started to like her a little more and later as I changed my music taste, so did she. She started experimenting with new genres and I started to relate to her more.

Follow up questions

What do you think makes Taylor Swift's lyrics special?
I believe her lyrics are special because they tell relatable stories and evoke strong emotions. She has a unique ability to capture experiences and feelings that resonate with many people, making her music feel personal and impactful.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I am very fond of the singer whose name is Mr. Arijit Singh. He is a music composer, a lyricist and a singer. That is something which makes me all the more fond of him. Furthermore, the lyrics of his music, his songs are really heart touching and I can relate to them very much. The range of scale and the pitch of music and the quality of voice he has is very good. In the realm of classical music, Kaushiki Chakravarti is one of my favourite classical musicians. She has a flair to her voice and she can reach the high notes as well as the low effortlessly. Her voice also has a sweetness in it and one of her favourite songs sung by her is Tarana from her album Punk. It has beautiful lyrics and it means the song is about introspection and I think the music and the lyrics go very well together and fuse to form a composition that sounds melodious to the ears and you can keep listening to it over and over again. She has a flavour and a personality in her voice when she sings which really touches one's heart when you listen to her songs and hence she is my favourite singer. She really makes you feel what the song is about. Kaushiki is the daughter of Chakravarti, who is a very senior musician. She has been taught by him.

I am a huge fan of BTS, a legendary boy band from South Korea who are breaking records. Currently they are on a break but in 2026 they are making a comeback and I cannot wait for it. I would like to add that this very band helped me cope up. I had a certain issue where I was dealing with inferiority complex and I was stressed with studies during my 10th standard. This band's songs helped me cope up. They helped me get my strength back. Also, not to mention, they are very handsome. My bias is Jungkook who is a very gorgeous man. He has a wonderful voice and he is known as golden maknae which in Korean translates to a golden youngest member. Also, he is very talented and he has a dog named Bam. The music he makes is very soulful and it has a mixture of R&B. It's very peaceful to listen when you are feeling a bit lonely or you are on something and you cannot stop thinking about it. So Jungkook makes me think about it.

So, the singer that I like is Shreya Ghosal. She is an Indian singer and most of her compositions are romantic songs but at the same time her genre is very diverse so she sings party songs as well. When I was in class 12th and I was preparing for my exams, I used to be very stressed and whenever I was feeling stressed I would listen to her songs and the thing that I liked most about her songs was that I could listen to whichever genre I liked. Sometimes if I was not in the mood for party music I could listen to the soft songs she produced or if I was not in the mood, if I wanted to listen to some music that gave me energy, I used to listen to her party music. And she is a very acclaimed artist in India and all of her works are very praised by most of the people and I also personally love her music. Once when she was in Delhi, that is where I live, I went and I attended her concert and I was so happy and she sang so beautifully, even during the concert her voice was exactly similar to how it sounded in recorded version. So, because of all these things and she is very sweet on a personal level also, she is very sweet and she interacts with people very nicely so that also made me feel very nice. So, all in all she is a very great singer and her music provides happiness to whoever listens to it and it is why I like her so much.
