Below are some of the rules and regulations followed at the SAT exam centres:

  • Remember to arrive at the test centre no later than 7:45 AM. The doors will open at 7:45 AM and close at 8:00 AM, so make sure you're on time. Late arrivals may not be admitted.
  • Don't forget to bring a valid, acceptable photo ID and your printed admission ticket. It's important that the name on your ID matches the name on your admission ticket.
  • Leave electronic devices (like phones, smartwatches, and tablets), highlighters, or any other unapproved aids at home. If you bring these items, you'll need to store them away, or they may be confiscated.
  • Bring 2 pencils with erasers and an approved calculator. Remember that mechanical pencils, pens, and highlighters are not permitted.
  • You'll have scheduled breaks during the test. During these breaks, you can eat or drink food and beverages you've brought with you. However, you cannot access your phone or any other electronic device during breaks.
  • Always follow the test proctor's instructions. Any form of cheating, including using unapproved aids or attempting to copy answers, will result in immediate dismissal and score cancellation.
  • You cannot leave the room without permission from the test proctor. If you need to leave for any reason, you must sign out and sign back in.
  • Make sure to fill out the answer sheet correctly and only use the provided answer sheet to record your answers. Writing on the test booklet is allowed for scratch work.
  • The test is strictly timed. Be aware of the time limits for each section and manage your time accordingly. Once time is called, you will not be allowed to continue working on a section.
  • Dress comfortably and in layers so you can adjust to the room temperature. There is no formal dress code, but you should be dressed appropriately for a public setting.
  • You can bring snacks and drinks to consume during breaks. However, eating and drinking are not allowed in the testing room during test sections.
  • If you experience any issues during the test, such as problems with your testing materials or disruptions in the testing environment, report them immediately to the test proctor.
  • When the test concludes, remain seated until the proctor collects all testing materials. You are not allowed to leave until all materials are accounted for.
  • If you believe testing conditions affected your performance, you can cancel your scores before you leave the testing centre by filling out a request form.
