You can complete SAT registration as early as 3-4 weeks before you take the exam. It’s best to apply early to get your desired slot and to avoid late registration fees.

Before we dive into the SAT registration process, here are some things you should keep in mind:

  • The SAT exam is conducted throughout the year, but the dates aren’t available every month.
  • Plan ahead, and note down the most ideal SAT exam date
  • Start your preparation at least 3 months early to cover all the modules diligently.

Once ready, you can take the following steps to register for the SAT exam.

  • Create a College Board Account: Start by creating an account on the College Board website, the official host of the SAT exam. You can use this account to conduct all your SAT-related activities, including registering, accessing, and sending scores to colleges.
  • Registration Details: You will have to provide your personal information, this includes:
    • Full Name
    • Date Of Birth
    • High School Details.
    • Academic Details
  • Choose a Test Date and Location: The SAT is offered several times a year, typically in March, May, June, August, October, November, and December. Choose a date that offers enough time for preparation and flows well with your schedule and college application deadlines.
  • Upload a Photo: As part of the registration process, you will have to upload a good-quality picture. Since this photo will be used for identification during the test, make sure it’s recent. You can scan and upload a passport-size picture.
  • Payment: The SAT registration requires payment, which can be made online using a credit card or PayPal. The SAT registration fee currently costs around INR 10k, including exam fees, regional fees, and taxes. Find out more about SAT exam fees here.
  • Confirmation: You will receive a confirmation email with your admission ticket after registration.

SAT Registration: Printing SAT Admission Ticket

Upon completing your registration, you will receive an email confirmation and your SAT admission ticket. As the name implies, this is the ultimate confirmation or ticket to take the SAT exam.

You must bring a printed copy of your admission ticket and your photo ID (such as a passport) to the exam hall.

To print your SAT admission ticket, follow these steps:

  • Log in to your SAT account
  • Click on the ‘print admission ticket’ option
  • Your admission ticket will open in a new window.
  • You can then print it or save it as a PDF.
