Everything you need to know about PTE

PTE 2023 Result: The Pearson Test of English, or PTE Academic, is a widely used English proficiency exam administered by Pearson PLC Group for candidates seeking to study at universities in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. In this article, we will go over essential aspects of PTE scores and PTE results. Continue reading as we explain to our readers how to check PTE results, the PTE score chart, the PTE score calculator, and other topics.

Candidates will be pleased to learn that Pearson PLC Group, the PTE Exam's governing body, has launched the PTE at Home. The PTE at Home is the same as the PTE test. On the other hand, the Pearson Test of English (PTE) at Home is held in the candidate's home, with student safety in mind. With effect from November 16, 2021, the conducting body has also reduced the total duration of the PTE exam from 3 hours to 2 hours.

PTE Scores 2023

For the benefit of the readers, we will cover all of the important questions about PTE scores and results in this section.

When are the PTE results announced?

PTE results are typically released within 5 days. The PTE Academic Exam's governing body, Pearson PLC Group, is working to reduce this to two days. In 2020, the majority of PTE results were released in a record-breaking time of 1.2 days, solely for the benefit of the PTE test taker. Candidates can expect their PTE results for the current year in two days.

How to check PTE results?

Candidates can view their PTE scores by logging into their PTE online account, which they created during the PTE registration process. Candidates would receive an email informing them that their PTE scores were now available. Following notification, candidates must log in to their Pearson VUE account (myPTE) and access their scores.

Steps to viewing your PTE Scores

  • Visit the official my PTE website: PTE Result Login
  • Log in to your PTE Account (myPTE)
  • Click on Activity and find the appointment connected with your PTE score

Is a PTE 79 score good?

According to the official website of the PTE, a score of 79 is considered to be in the 'Very Good' group of results and is similar to an 8.0 in the IELTS overall band score.

What is PTE Score Validity?

Candidates are frequently left wondering whether or not the validity of their PTE scores can be relied upon. They need to be aware that the scores they received on the PTE are good for a period of two years after the exam date. After a period of two years, the test taker's account would be updated to remove any scores for the PTE that had become obsolete.

When will I next have the opportunity to take the PTE exam?

Many times, candidates need help to obtain their desired PTE scores and must retake the exam. Candidates who wish to retake the PTE Academic test may do so after a five-day gap from their previous PTE registration. As a result, there is no limit to the number of PTE exam attempts. A 5-day window must be maintained between two PTE test registrations.

What is a Good PTE Score?

Candidates are frequently left wondering what a good PTE score is. PTE Academic test takers should know that each university has a required PTE score, and candidates are expected to achieve the same or a higher value to be admitted. A good PTE score may qualify a candidate for admission to most universities that accept PTE scores. A high PTE score not only increases your chances of admission to the university but also puts you in the running for any scholarships the university may offer.

What is an average PTE Score?

In the PTE score calculator, an average PTE score is neither too high nor too low. As previously stated, every university has a required PTE score, and candidates are expected to achieve the same or a higher value to be eligible for admission. Candidates are encouraged to aim for a higher-than-average PTE score, as this will increase their chances of admission to the university and put them in the running for any scholarships that the university may offer.

PTE Score Reporting: How to send PTE Scores

This section will go over all of the important aspects of PTE score reporting and how to send PTE score reports to universities.

How to Send PTE Score Report?

Applicants who are interested in sending their PTE scores can do so through a protected online portal that was established by PTE. Score reports for the PTE Academic exam cannot be submitted in paper or PDF format because universities do not accept them. PTE Test takers should be aware that the service of sending PTE scores to universities is free of charge. Candidates must, however, follow the steps outlined below.

Steps to sending your PTE Score Report

  • Sign in to your PTE account.
  • Click the 'View Score Reports' button.
  • Select 'Send Scores.'
  • Enter the name of your desired institution and select it.
  • Enter the name of our chosen course and choose your preferred field of study.
  • Examine your information, scroll down the page and click 'Next' to confirm.
  • Repeat this process for each institution (you can send your PTE scores to as many institutions as you like for free)

Rescoring the PTE Score?

Candidates who are dissatisfied with their PTE Score can request a rescore. However, because the PTE Academic is a computer-scored exam, the possibility of an error is significantly reduced. The only types of responses that are rescored are spoken responses and open-ended written responses. Candidates are only permitted to request a rescore for their most recently completed PTE Academic Test, and they are not permitted to do so if they have already scheduled another test or sent their score to an institution. Candidates are also not permitted to request a rescore if they have already sent their score to an institution. Should there be a change in the score, the new score will take the place of the old score, and the original score report will be republished to reflect the new score.

How is the PTE exam scored (Section-wise)

The PTE exam's various sections (listening, reading, speaking, and writing) are scored on a scale of 10 - 90, with increments of 1 point. The score reflects the individual's ability to read, speak, understand verbal instructions, and write in English. The overall score reflects your overall command of the English language. The results are graphed to provide an easy understanding of the candidate's core language skills and areas for improvement.
