I have this friend and his name is Giridharan. I met him in college and we have been good friends for three years now. I initially didn't know that he was really open but when I started talking to him I found that he always kept speaking his thoughts out loud. No matter good or bad he says them aloud. What I feel about that is it may not always end up in a good way. If the person who is hearing it takes it in the wrong way they could get hurt emotionally. I always feel that at times it is not really intelligent to speak whatever comes to our mind. In that way I feel that he should not do this. I've advised him saying that he should not speak whatever comes to his mind because it may offend certain people's feelings and they may take it in a not very good way. What I feel is it is okay to be open at times but not every time. People may not need the truth at all times. They may need words of encouragement and motivation rather than the truth explicitly put out there. I expect myself to be such a person who helps people to grow out of their shortcomings and not explicitly tell them the truth just to demotivate them.

An open person who shows her feelings very openly is my best friend Priya. We have known each other since college and we have been very close for over 5 years now. Priya is someone who never hides her emotions. If she is happy, she loves loudly, jumps with excitement and tells everyone why she is happy. On the other hand, if she is upset or stressed, she talks about it immediately, sometimes even cries in front of others. She doesn't pretend to be okay when she is not and I think that makes her very genuine and honest. I think she is very open because she strongly believes in expressing feelings instead of bottling them up. She says it's healthier to share emotions rather than hide them. She is also very empathetic so when others share their feelings with her, she listens with full attention and supports them. I really admire this quality in her. Being around Priya makes me feel comfortable and understood. Her openness encourages others, including me, to be more expressive and honest. I believe she has helped me become more emotionally open too. I feel lucky to have a friend like her who is not afraid to be herself.

In my lifetime, I've seen and met a lot of people, but the person I feel is the most open about his or her feelings will be my closest friend, that is, Neha Pal. She is very open about everything. Something you might call as bluntly saying it out in the open. She is one of that. Additionally, I think why she is that open is because she has built herself in such a way from the past experiences and from her childhood that she immediately lets people know if she felt bad about something or about someone. So, this is a quality that I admire in people. Yes, being blunt to everything and everyone might not be good at some times, but it might be great at other times. However, whenever she comes and openly speaks to me about something that I did wrong or about something that she did not like, I look forward to not do the same mistake. And fortunately, this does not make anything bad between us. In fact, this is very influential. She has the power to change things according to how she likes and what she wants. And this is a nice inspiring quality that one should have. I admire this quality of hers and I look forward to gaining such a quality myself. She is a mesmerizing girl.

So, it is my elder brother who in my opinion is the most expressive person I know in terms of their inner feelings because since I was a child he has never shied to let out his true opinion on some matters in the family discussions which are a really crucial part of life, changing decisions also. He has very expressive opinions and thoughts which only describe his personality as a fulfilling elder brother. Apart from that, I feel like he is a very expressive person because he doesn't care that much about what people will think of him if he tells them the truth and due to his such nature he doesn't have many friends but the amount of friends he actually has, those are quality friends and whom he can rely on through thick and thin and especially being my elder brother, he is a very caring and warm person by nature which really puts me at ease and allows me to express my feelings to him as well. So, in addition to this, it feels really good to talk about my elder brother and talk to him as well and describing my elder brother over here feels like an achievement I feel like a personal achievement because he is the most loving person in my family according to me after my mother and father.

Can you share a specific example of your brother's expressiveness?
One specific instance was during a family discussion about moving to a new city. He openly shared his concerns and feelings about leaving friends behind, which encouraged everyone to express their thoughts. This openness helped us make a more informed decision as a family.

Do you think society values expressiveness in people?
I believe society is becoming more accepting of expressiveness, especially in close relationships. However, some cultures still value restraint. It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So, one person who comes to my mind when I think of someone who expresses their feelings openly is my close friend Elizabeth. We have known each other since our college days, and over the years, she has become like family to me. Elizabeth is the kind of person who wears a heart on her sleeves. Whether she's feeling joyful, anxious, upset, or excited, you know it right away, both from her facial expressions and her tone of voice, for example, if she's happy, she'll be jumping around, talking animatedly, and spreading good vibes. On the other hand, if something is bothering her, she won't hesitate to talk about it, cry if she needs to, or even seek support from those around her. She's incredibly emotionally expressive, and what's admirable is that she doesn't try to suppress or fake her emotions to appear strong or detached. She believes that being vulnerable is a sign of strength, not weakness. I've seen her talk openly about her mental health, personal struggles, and even her moments of self-doubt, and I find that level of honesty both courageous and refreshing. Personally, I really appreciate this trait in her. In a world where people bottle up their emotions or hide behind a facade, her openness is like a breath of fresh air. It encourages others, including me, to be more honest about our own feelings and to seek help when we need it. To sum up, Elizabeth is someone who isn't afraid to show what she's feeling, and that makes her incredibly authentic, relatable, and emotionally intelligent. I truly admire her for that.

    Band 8

One person I know who shows his feelings more openly is my close friend Arjun. We have known each other since university and over the years I have come to admire his honesty and emotional transparency. Arjun is someone who does not hesitate to express his emotions whether he is happy, sad or upset. For instance, during group discussions or personal conversations, he openly shares his thoughts and feelings without fear or judgement. If something disappoints him or makes him happy, he communicates it clearly and directly. I believe this openness makes him a very trustworthy and approachable individual. It encourages others to be honest as well, which often results in deeper and more meaningful relationships. Personally, I appreciate this quality because it fosters a positive environment where people can be themselves without hiding their true emotions. However, there are moments when such openness can be overwhelming for some reserved people. But overall, I think it is a valuable trait, especially in building genuine connections.

    Band 8

A person who shows her feelings very openly is my best friend. I have known her for several years now. And from the beginning, she has always been someone who expresses her emotions without hesitation. She's the kind of person who doesn't hide how she feels. If she's happy, she'll laugh out loud and share her excitement with everyone. If she's upset or hurt, she doesn't pretend to be fine. She talks about it and lets it out. I think the reason she's so open is because she's emotionally mature and believes that expressing feelings helps in building stronger relationships. I admire this quality in her. Her openness makes people feel safe and understood around her. I have learned a lot from her about being honest with myself and others. I feel very lucky to have her in my life because her presence brings comfort, positivity and a lot of trust into our friendship.

    Band 7

One of the person who I know can open her feelings very openly is Ms. Sanjupta Mishra. She is my mother. Her idea of being bold and honest always empowers me and encourages me to be brave in every situation and face everything with her open heart. Yes, I love her very much and the feelings are very mutual. from my vicinity who expresses her opinions and feelings very openly is Ms. Sanjupta Mishra. She is my mother. From childhood I have seen her being the bold, honest, empowered and courageous woman I have ever seen. I have learnt from her that describing your feelings very openly and being honest about it is the best thing a human being can do and it comes with certain advantages like you would always be appreciated around your surrounding, you would always be loved by your family members and you will always be around to help others. This quality of my mother empowered me to be like her. She is a very kind hearted lady and she loves to connect with people often more. I love her very much and the feelings are quite mutual from her side as well. It's her who introduced me to the fact that expressing gratitude, expressing feelings, knowing that what hurts people is a kind human nature and is often misinterpreted as weakness yet it's always someone's greatest power. Thank you.

    Band 7

The person who shows her feelings very openly in my life would be my sister. My sister is all at the same time my best friend and also the best critic I have in my life. When it comes to her positive part of being the best friend of mine, she is a person with a very kind heart. She will openly tell me the things about me which I usually not notice. She will bring that to my notice and with all openness she will bring it to me and she will help me sort it out by myself. She will be the happiest person in the room to celebrate my success and she will be with her loudest cheer in any crowd for me. That being said, she is the ultimate critic that I can ever have. Her way of criticism is a bit bitter. She has got a very rigid way of saying things when it comes to criticism. According to her, it is about improving ourselves which makes us a better person. And being her sister, she always thinks the best should come to me or should happen to me. In that way, she always criticizes me for the things that I do wrong or where there is a scope of improvement. This combination of hers in openly expressing both the good and bad things makes her the most integral thing or part of my life. She is a sister but she is a second mother to me as well and that makes it even more special to have a person who is just like a mirror for us in our life.

    Band 7

A person who shows her feeling very openly that I know is Habiba. She is my best friend for over 2 years and first of all I like to say she is one of the most emotionally mature and intelligent persons I have met in my entire life. I love her so much and she inspires me in ways I cannot describe. Moreover, with being intelligent and emotionally mature, she is also very caring and loves me and my family as her own. She openly describes a feeling and being around her makes me so comfortable that I can talk about my feeling without the fear of being judged. She is a great person and I look up to her as a person and as my best friend and as my non-blood sister.

    Band 7

Okay, so this person's name is Dhanush. He is my boyfriend. I met him in office. What I like most about him is, he is very open and straightforward person. He used to describe all the feelings openly and he tries to explain the things whenever it is going in a wrong way or something which is being disturbed. So, he is very important to me.

    Band 7

The person I'm talking about is my best friend who also believes that she's my soulmate. She always brings me joy when I feel sad or when she sees me being sad, she always lights up my mood. I love being around with her and I met her like 8 years back and I didn't believe that I would become this close with her. She's the best thing I've ever had, I literally love her so much. I don't think there's anything that I hate about her, it's the thing that I love is that she's a very good person. I love when she cares for me, I love when she brings me things that I don't even ask for. I love when she likes to tell me everything.

    Band 7

So, I have a best friend and we have been friends since 2020. One of the most admiring qualities of hers is that she can express her feelings very openly without having a second thought. And people who can emote easily and share their thoughts and opinions without having the fear of being judged are actually very strong because it is very difficult to speak what you feel or what you think amongst a group of people. In our society, as you may know, most of the people are very judgmental. They judge you in a second by whatever you are speaking. So if you are able to stand in front of them and say whatever your thoughts are, then you are mentally very strong and confident. So I would like to describe an instance where I was, I think, in a cafe with her and a stand-up comedy show was going on and the person who was performing just pointed out towards us and was talking about something and furthermore, I am a very shy person so I was not able to really reply to whatever he was asking. But she, on the other hand, was very confident in whatever she said. She could express whatever she felt about his performance. She did not think that she would be judged and that is a lovely quality that she has. I really wish I would also have that quality. I would actually like to learn it from her.

    Band 7

Good morning and today I would like to talk about my friend, Jia, who comes from a Christian family and we first met during our church mass and I was immediately drawn to her by her calmness and openness. She has shared many fascinating aspects of her culture with me, such as singing in the choir, also about the youth meetings. We have spent endless hours together, engaging in singing, dancing, watching different reels. She is very open to me and I feel very happy about it because this helps me to know that I give her space to her, to ventilate her feelings and also she feels safe around me. It actually helps me to grow as well and find a mutual understanding between each of us.
