When I was a young child, my beloved grandfather gifted me a soft, adorable panda toy that became my most cherished companion the moment I was instantly captivated by its beautiful black and white fur, button eyes, and gentle smile. This panda wasn't just a toy, it was a symbol of my grandfather's love and affection. I would carry this special toy everywhere, to school, on family vacations, to relatives' house. Every adventurer became more exciting with my panda by my side, and I would spend countless hours playing, imagining incredible stories, and creating magical worlds. Together, the toy became my most concerned friend, providing comfort during uncertain moments and bringing joy to my childhood. Whenever I hugged the panda, I could almost feel my grandfather's warm embrace and hear his loving voice even now. Years later, this toy remains a treasured possession, representing not just a childhood memory but the beautiful, unbreakable bond I shared with my grandfather. The panda toy is a tangible reminder of his love, kindness, and the precious moments we shared during my early years.

My most famous toy in my childhood, as I recollect, was an elephant. It was gifted to me by my father. I played with it daily and I did carry it around with me wherever I go and whatever I was doing. I remember vaguely that I used to eat my lunch with my elephant beside me. It was this huge toy and it was very fluffy and soft. Although over the years it had become very thin and its fabric started to rip apart. Besides that, it was my favourite companion to have around. I would actually rather not share it with anyone else because he was my best friend. I also did name this elephant toy. I named it Buddy. As the meaning, it was really my buddy. It made my day bright and it made my days very much memorable. I used to play with it. I used to watch TV with it. The first thing that I remember whenever I think of my childhood was definitely this elephant. Over the years, as I said, the fabric was ripping apart. I had to say goodbye to this toy and it was very much disheartening to lose it. Although it was replaced with another toy which was a giraffe which was gifted to me by my mother this time. What I understood was that the elephant was pretty much irreplaceable because I did not have the same joy as I did with the elephant.

Follow up questions

What other toys did you enjoy as a child?
Besides my elephant Buddy, I also had a few other toys like building blocks and a toy car. I enjoyed creating different structures with the blocks and racing the car around the house. Each toy had its own special place in my childhood, but none compared to Buddy.

How did you feel when you had to say goodbye to your toy?
Losing Buddy was really tough for me. I felt a deep sense of sadness and nostalgia. It was like losing a part of my childhood. I remember crying and feeling empty without my fluffy companion. It took me a while to come to terms with it, and I still think about Buddy sometimes.

Do you think toys play an important role in childhood?
Absolutely! Toys are not just for fun; they help in developing creativity, social skills, and emotional connections. They provide comfort and companionship, like Buddy did for me. Toys can also teach important life lessons, making them a vital part of growing up.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

The toy that I most liked as a kid was my remote controlled car. This car was given to me by my uncle who is my mother's brother. The thing that I found most fascinating about this whole concept of remote controlled car is that I could use a tiny remote to control a car which is far away from me and this I found really interesting as a kid. I remember that I used to play with this toy almost everyday with a bunch of my friends. There were a bunch of interesting things I used to do with this car. I remember creating racetracks, tiny little racetracks and obstacles in the path and I would make, I would control this car to go around these obstacles. So this piece of toy motivated me to know more about electronics, about remote controlled cars which also fueled my interest in science and technology as an adult. So I feel this was a really important toy to me.

Absolutely! Toys like remote controlled cars encourage creativity, problem-solving, and hand-eye coordination. This topic is really an interesting one because I got a chance to talk about my toy which I liked most when I was a child. Probably one of the toys was a kitchen set which was gifted by my aunt on my third birthday. It was a very good and happy day for me because it was a gathering of all the people around and we have invited our neighbours for the third birthday. In that age I was able to understand the things and I still remember who all came for my birthday party. It was a very happy part for me in my life and the most important gift was the kitchen set. Basically in my home the people used to cook and we used to celebrate our pressure with food. We belong to a Muslim family and in all the celebrations we used to prepare food. So in that scenario I have a lot of interest in the kitchen set because I can sit there on my own. Instead of going and begging with my mom for getting the roof or making chapatis or puris. These are all the things which I like the most so I used to get that habit of cooking by my own with my kitchen set. As I told you earlier it was a birthday gift from me to my aunt.

When I was a young child, I had an interest in playing with laptops. Now this laptop is not like an adult laptop. It is a kid's laptop which teaches alphabets, numbers, plays songs and has few video games in it. It was gifted by my aunt when I was 3 years old for my birthday and since then I used to play with it all day all along ever since I was a child till I grew old for it. It was such a fun device to play with especially when I was young I had my parents working at home with laptops and everything. So me using that laptop was fun and also it gave me a sense of adulthood which many kids try to enjoy. The pleasure that I had with it was immense and it was really really effective as well. I learned alphabets through songs, I had video games to play. I wasn't very addictive but then it really gave me a good time pause when I was a kid and it would forever stay in my heart as the best childhood gift I could ever get from my friends and family.
