So the best photograph I've clicked to date that I remember is of a bird. It was on the coast of Mumbai and we were standing just in front of the Gateway of India. And I just clicked in an instant. I was very young at that age and I had a camera which my father had given to me. And that photo, it wasn't a very special one. It just had a bird which was flying away when a wave had hit the boundary wall of the sea. And all the splashes of water were coming over it and it was just trying to fly away from it. So it was not some kind of a special bird or a very special moment. But just because my father really thought that picture was really great and that I had took it and was very good of me that I had took it, that picture became very special to me. And since then I got very interested and very indulged in photography. Because you can capture so many moments when it comes to a camera. The click can be of the smallest of the things to the largest of the things like the moon. These days I'm very interested in clicking photographs of the moon and stars and all the celestial bodies that one can see in the sky above. Though I don't have that kind of cameras which can capture every detail, but I still find myself quite satisfied with the photos I click. And once I show them to people, they are in awe. And that makes me much more happy.

So I'll talk about a photo that I took couple of years back and I'm really proud of it. I'm not a photographer nor do I have interest in photography but there was one incident where me and my husband had gone to Pondicherry couple of years back and we were sitting on the beach and we envisioned the most beautiful sunset that we had ever seen in our life. The place that we were sitting at was a very clean beach with a vision of a very clear horizon. We could see the ocean and the sun meeting and the sun was getting submerged in the ocean with a bit of cloud in between. As the sunset was happening, I could capture all the shades of orange and red undertones. The hues that were captured in the picture was just perfect and I was grateful enough because I did not have people on the beach. So it was a very private affair that we had which helped us capture that perfect photo. After that incident, my husband actually thought that I'm a very good photographer and he went ahead and got me a DSLR and I have been capturing photos ever since. However, going back to that incident, I would say I could never capture a much perfect sunset ever in my life and that was primarily because we were at the right location at the right

This photo is taken during Diwali evening. I made a proper set up in my home itself to take this photo. I created complete darkness and I set up a golden light. And I kept the phone in my window frame to take the photo. So this photo was shot on my phone camera itself. I stood there in front of the phone camera in a beautiful white sari and the golden light was reflecting very beautifully on my sari. So it made the look come out as golden. I was looking very alluring and like a piece of art in that. And that's the reason I'm very proud of it. And another reason to be proud of it is because it was shot on a phone camera, not on a particular proper film camera. This photo looks amazing because the pose in the sari, the lighting, the set looks completely coordinated. And at the same time, I know at the back of my mind that it is a very spontaneous process, but it looks very planned and very intentional. And in that photo, I must also say that it looks very professional. But as a fact, I know that I am immature at photography. I'm still learning things, but this experiment came out to be very, very beautiful.

Follow up questions

What inspired you to take that particular photo during Diwali?
I wanted to capture the essence of Diwali, which is all about light and celebration. The golden light I set up symbolized the joy of the festival, and I felt that dressing in a beautiful sari would enhance the festive spirit. It was a way to express my creativity and celebrate the occasion.

How do you feel about using a phone camera for photography?
I believe that phone cameras have come a long way and can produce stunning images. They are convenient and allow for spontaneous creativity. While I appreciate professional cameras, I think the accessibility of phone cameras encourages more people to explore photography without the intimidation of complex equipment.

What have you learned about photography since taking that photo?
I've learned the importance of lighting and composition in photography. This experience taught me that even spontaneous shots can turn out beautifully if you pay attention to details. I'm also learning to be more confident in my skills and to experiment more with different styles and techniques.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I took this photo sometime last year during Christmas. The photo was taken with my Nikon DSLR camera and the subject of the picture is my baby cousin who has recently started to paint. This picture contains my cousin splashing paint and I am proud of the picture as it captures her childlike expression of shock as the paint is flying in the air. The effect of the paint in the air is taken using a low shutter speed which records the individual splashes of paint in the air.

I consider myself to be a master photographer and one photo that I am extremely proud of is one of my little sister when she was born. I did not use any professional tools for that photograph. I just had my phone and a steady hand. I remember the moment as vividly as yesterday. My sister had just been born but she was crying incessantly. She wouldn't stop after numerous, even after numerous efforts by the doctor, even after my mother tried to calm her down. But she just would not stop crying. It's as if she did not want to leave her mother's womb. She did not like the bright lights of the doctor's clinic. But I decided that maybe taking a photo of her would lighten her up. I went over her crib, bended myself a little and decided to take my photo at that very moment. Just as soon I had my camera on her and was gaining focus, she did the most unexpected thing. She smiled for the camera. My sister was a born model and I was lucky enough to capture that moment. The photo is still with me. It reminds me how adorable my sister is and is a cherished memory.

In the picture I vividly remember my father, my mother and my younger sister. They were all used to be there in the picture. I just clicked it. It was the best moment in my entire life because until now the picture has been hanging in our hall and when whenever I see the picture I just it reminds me of the time that I went to that trip. Furthermore it made me more confident in myself that I was capable of doing something that I have never done before. Hence I love taking pictures of the person that I love. I feel really fascinated and very enjoyable when I took pictures of my family.
