When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I have a neighbor, one of the most interesting neighbors I have is Mr. Thompson, who lives two houses down the street. I have known Mr. Thompson for about five years now. We first met when I moved into the neighborhood and he was one of the person to introduce himself. At that time he was new to the area and I didn't know much about the people. I think Mr. Thompson is an incredibly inspiring person. Despite his age, he is full of energy and curiosity, which I find is really admirable. He has such a positive outlook on his life. Not as often as I'd like, but we do spend time together from time to time. Since Mr. Thompson is quite busy with his gardening and his community activities, our meetings tend to be more spontaneous rather than regular. I would describe my relationship with Mr. Thompson as friendly and respectful. Although we are neighbors, I feel like we have developed more of a mental-mentee dynamic over time. He is someone I can always turn to for advice, especially when it comes to gardening or life in general. I really value his wisdom and perspective.

Follow up questions

My relationship with Mr. Thompson has positively influenced my perspective on life. His wisdom and advice have helped me navigate challenges, especially in gardening and personal growth. I feel more confident in seeking guidance and have learned the importance of mentorship.

We had neighbors of age group from 50 to 60 years old approximately and I found them interesting because every morning they used to take a newspaper and go for a morning walk and coincidentally that was my time for a morning walk as well. I remember they used to discuss interesting news with me and discuss new developments in India and used to story tell me about how this all was changed during that time and how that is different in current times. They left our neighbor around 5 years ago and they were neighbors in my current housing property where I stay right now. I used to find them really friendly and I used to love how they used to treat me like their own child and that's why that is one of my favorite childhood memories I would say. That was a neighbor couple and I remember the lady being an awesome cook because she used to cook various kinds of non-vegetarian and vegetarian recipes for me and it was a true delight to get fed by her. It is an amazing and very nostalgic experience when I recall those things and I would love to relive in that moment again. I really felt bad when they left our neighborhood which was because they could not afford to pay rent because staying next to my house used to be expensive for them because this is a developed area and that's why I cherish those memories of staying next to my house.

Follow up questions

What qualities made your neighbors interesting to you?
Their engaging conversations about current events and their storytelling about the past made them fascinating. They shared their experiences and insights, which enriched my understanding of history and culture.

How did your relationship with them impact your childhood?

What do you miss the most about your neighbors?

Neighborhood is the thing which mainly says that a good neighbor is next to means it's similar to your family. Today I would like to talk about a neighbor of our society. The one who is living next to our house is just like a family member and we knew them from the last 10 years. One day there was a asthma attack of my grandfather and no one was there at my home. I was the only there and I used I called them for the help. They came, they took my grandparents, they took my grandfather in their car and took him to the hospital and stayed with me until my parents reached to the hospital. They were so helpful and during that time also we realized that neighbor is the only thing that comes to help when the problem occurs. These are small the reasons where our bond gets strong and we usually hang out. We can't say hang out but we spend time together or we go out during the weekends. They are now a family member only and they are an important part of our family because whatever strikes we call them.

Actually, I have lots of best friends and some fellows in my life, but today I would like to talk about an interesting neighbor that I know, for over a period, for over a long period, because he is my childhood friend, because he is an old person, actually I have lots of friends and I am a kind of person who always like to be friend, either it is a younger person or even elder ones. I always try to have great conversation with all of the people. So, today I would like to talk about an interesting neighbor that who is my best friend and he is not only my neighbor, but also a family member. I have known him for over many years, because when I was a little kid, I used to see him around a lot and he still lives there, nearby my house and I often like to hang out with him, since he helps me to get good answers for my question or for my study. Other than that, he also likes to have great conversation on the topic of trees and nature, because he and I are really fond of natural scenario. So, we often like to hang out in order to talk about such topics. In other words, he also helps me to be motivated for my study and for my upcoming future life, so that I can become something in my future, which can be literally helpful for me and for my parents. In fact, they invited us over to their house for a cup of tea. And while having the discussion, I came to know that both of them are IT working professionals. They work in a MNC. They live with their parents but they don't have kids. They were very kind and sweet. Their native was from Kerala.

So when I listen those words from her, she is a small child with little knowledge, right? But her interest, her keen of interest made me surprised and I often hang out with that small child. The person I'm going to talk about is my neighbor. Her name is Jyothi. We both are living beside each other for two years now. So we are like close friends. We hang out most of the times when we get off from our work. So she is a person, when every time I'm seeing her, she always do anything. Like if in the morning I go to see herself, she will be doing whistles and in the afternoon she will prepare food for the family and in the evening she will use to play with the children. So whenever I see her, she is fully occupied with the work. So I was shocked how a person can do work for the 24 hours. Sometimes we hang out. I will ask her how you are doing these things. She is like, when you have your own family, you come to know like that, she will say. So she is the person, I think she is the most interesting one I have seen in my life. And she is working from home also for supporting her family. So I think there is a lot to learn from her.

I have known Christy, my neighbour, since my birth. We grew up together. She is almost the same age as me. I think very high about her. She is a very friendly and amiable person. We used to hang out a lot when we were children. I used to go to her home and play a variety of games. We used to go to church together and we had lots of common friends. She is a very kind person too. She taught me how to be kind to others in situations where we cannot show empathy in us. She also, the relationship that I maintain with her is very respectable. She has a kid now, so she is very busy with her own personal life. But we find time in between these busy situations to spend time with each other. We go out every weekend. I talk about my life's problems with her and she provides me solutions. The relationship that I have with her is like the relationship between two siblings. I will always adore her and I will cherish the relationship that I share with her forever. I do not want to give up the relationship that I have with her. We have been friends for almost 25 years now and the lessons that she has taught me is worth remembering throughout my life. As I mentioned, she now has a daughter. I will keep in touch with the daughter too in the future and I will keep reminding her how important she is in my life.

    Band 6-7

The neighbor I would like to talk about is a family called the Tatkes. They live right next door to us. It's a family of five, the grandparents, the parents and their son. The son is friends with my brother and the grandmother out of all of them is the most interesting person I'd say. We hang out with them pretty often, my mother exchanges various food items or dishes that she makes at home and food is Mrs. Tatke. She is an amazing cook and food is something that really bonds us and we share our time together. They have been living next door for the last 10 years so we have really seen their son grow up and my brother and their son have grown up together almost. I also like the relationship between Mrs. Tatke and Mr. Tatke as they are a very interesting funny old couple. We enjoy having them around, we can rely on them as neighbors, we tend to sometimes plan events and even go out and a lot of other people who live in our building are funnily jealous of our relationship.
