When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Well, one such person who comes to my mind is my friend Apoorva, who is really passionate about protecting the environment. She is a university student just like me, but what really stands out about her is her dedication towards sustainability and eco-friendly living. Firstly, she works for an NGO that helps reducing plastic pollution. She participates in cleanliness drives near parks, rivers or even in local markets. Besides that, she conducts awareness campaigns and sessions in schools and colleges to do her every bit possible. But one thing really impressive about her is that she practices what she preaches. She never uses plastic bags and always carries her own tote bags which are made of cloth and steel bottles to avoid plastic bottles. Even at home, she composts her kitchen waste and uses the same for her plants. One thing I really admire about her is her consistency and commitment. She has been taking small steps to make the change possible. She is setting a great example and she is inspiring a lot of people including me.

A person who really helped to protect the environment that I watched is my grandfather. He is someone who really admires and respects the nature. I've seen him doing gardening, planting trees, watering them, caring for them every day and the care that he gives to the plant is really equal to the care that he gave us. He is giving us and because of his influence we also started doing gardening and I personally enjoy it a lot now. Gardening is something that keeps my mind really calm and happy and by doing these things my grandfather really tells us that fraternity is something that we should really hold on in this society right now and we should not only show sense of fraternity to human beings but also for all the organisms in this world. When describing someone who really protects the environment I think my grandfather is someone who really respects the nature and cares for the environment.

I would say Vanuji V. Ramaiah. He used to plant more than 1000 tree samplings in Khammam district, India. When I met him during my Telangana tour in my graduation days, he explained how important environment is and what impact it will be on humans as well as on nature if we don't conserve and protect our environment. The hard work and passion he had to save the environment inspired me a lot to protect our natural resources.

A person that I truly believe helps in the betterment and protection of the environment is David Attenborough. He is a famous documentary filmmaker who's made a number of documentaries on the topics of environment, earth, the wildlife and a variety of species, even global warming. I believe that he's done great work in terms of spreading awareness and creating accessibility for people to understand what happens in every corner of the world. One of his recent documentaries that describe the condition of polar bears amongst the melting ice caps really brings to light the strenuous conditions that they have to now live in due to global warming and environmental conditions that humans have plummeted. I think this makes it really important. His work becomes very important for us to understand and learn from. He inspires people to take attention to the environment, to learn more about it, to understand about it and even practice conscious, sustainable measures to ensure that we do not erode the earth of its natural substances, which is why I believe that he does very important quality work and he inspires a lot of people to do the same.

I believe my mom does a lot to protect the environment. She uses recyclable bags, especially while going shopping, so that plastic bags do not need to be bought. And even though that is a small step, I believe that it is a huge step in protecting the environment. She also makes sure to segregate between dry waste and wet waste. The wet waste can be recycled, it can be composted. So she makes sure that she does that. Even though these are small gestures, I think people need to get inspired by her so that they can take small steps in order to protect our planet. She inspires me a lot by doing the best she can to make sure this place is a better place to live in. She expects everything to be in order and clean, and therefore she also recommends minimal wastage.

    Band 7

One person who really helped protect the environment is my friend Anna. I met her at university about five years ago and since then she has inspired me a lot. She is very passionate about sustainability for example she started a community recycling program in our neighborhood. Every weekend she organizes a climate drive while we pick up litter in the park and separate waste for proper recycling. She also gives free workshops to teach people how to reduce plastic use and save energy at home. What I really admire about her is that she doesn't just talk about protecting the environment, she actually takes action and motivates others to join her. She even rides her bicycle everywhere instead of using a car which I find really impressive because of her. I have also become more conscious about my habits like carrying and recycling bags and bottles. I think she is making a real difference in our community and I feel really proud to know someone like her.

One person I truly admire for their contribution to environmental protection is Afroz Shah. As Indian environmental activist and lawyer, he is best known for organizing the world's largest beach cleanup project at Versova Beach in Mumbai. It started around 2015 when he noticed that the beach was covered in garbage. Instead of waiting for authorities to act, he took the initiative and began cleaning it himself every weekend. His consistent efforts soon attracted hundreds of volunteers, including school children, local residents, and even celebrities. Together they removed thousands of tons of plastic waste over several months. What inspires others the most is his leadership by example. He never gave big speeches, instead he got his hands dirty and proved that one person can make a massive difference. He also educates people about waste segregation and reducing plastic use. I admire him because he didn't just complain, he took action. His dedication to the environment, persistence, and humility makes him a true role model. His work has been also recognized by the United Nations.

One inspiring individual who has made a significant contribution to protecting the environment is, I would say that Afroz Shah, an environmental activist and lawyer based in Mumbai. He is globally recognized for launching the world's largest beach clean-up drive at Sova Beach in Mumbai, Maharashtra. His journey began in 2015 when he noticed that the beach near his home was covered in plastic and other waste. Instead of ignoring the problem, he began collecting trash every weekend. Initially, he worked alone, but soon local residents, students and volunteers started joining him. Over the course of more than 80 weeks, they removed over 20 million kilograms of waste. His efforts to go beyond just cleaning, he actively promotes behavioral change, especially by educating slum dwellers on waste segregation, reducing plastic waste and recycling. His work is aligned with India's national initiatives like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Plastic Waste Management Rules. What truly sets him apart is his focus on community-led initiatives, which is a key aspect of environmental governance in India. His work embodies the spirit of Article 51A of the Indian Constitution, which calls upon every citizen to protect and improve the natural environment. He has also been awarded the UN Champion of Earth Award in the UN's highest environmental honour, which further reflects the global impact of his actions. Moreover, his campaign has led to the return of All You Rightly Turtles to Verzova Beach after decades, which is an ecologically successful story. This shows the grassroots-level initiatives can contribute to climate resilience.

Well, the person I am talking about is a commissioner in Nodal Agency, which is a group which is located in the state of Karnataka. They have done many things to conserve biodiversity and also the species, endangered species. They have done the act of National Action Plan for Climate Change. They have inspired people to not to use private transport or private commute. They have suggested all the people to take public transport to reduce the air pollution that is released from the cars or bikes or motorbicycles. And they have taken the actions like National Water Mission. They have inspired our communities to conserve water in every usage of daily life and switch off the electricity where electricity use lot of water for the production of electricity. Then they have taken several steps to conserve the endangered species, wildlife sanctuaries such as birds and animals. They have created a good zoo where endangered species can live their life. I admire them so much and I believe that doing such things would help us to save this environment and have a good life without being much threat to this environment.

Today I want to talk about my neighbor. He is an old man and he is passionate about protecting plants and growing them in proper way. He is a big fan of agriculture as he has his own garden with varieties of trees. Whenever I get leisure time, I prefer to go inside his small field and ask him about the trees and plants and what are the benefits of it. Moreover, he also participated in campaigns related to plantations. What I really admire is that he loves to protect environment and also he helped me to connect with spiritual things like he teaches me or tells me the stories regarding old temples, how the life of gods and also which flower is favorite of which lord. Moreover, he helped me a lot in my homework when I was a kid, but now he has become too older so it's hard for him to manage everything. So I help him sometimes.
