When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

If I were to pick one person who has influenced me the most in the field of environmental conservation, it would be Steve Irwin. Steve Irwin is belovedly called the Crocodile Hunter and I believe he has done more for wildlife preservation in the past 20 years than any other individual. I remember seeing a documentary about his life and his charming personality coupled with how he lived. He was a person who actually practiced what he preached and I respect that. He was able to raise millions of dollars to buy wildlife conservation sanctuaries and every single penny that he raised went into his... It did not benefit his friends or family and he was not corrupt. I feel like that is a lesson that many people who put on a false pretext of conservation these days have to understand and try to follow. I remember seeing a video on social media where he was teasing his son on how to properly handle wildlife and he was able to inculcate that sense of love for the environment within his child at such a small age. Even though Steve Irwin passed away, his son took over his conservation efforts and now manages all of that in Australia and his legacy lives on. I strongly believe that despite his tragic end, he is going to be remembered and he is going to become the face of modern wildlife conservation. He is globally known as a conservation icon and he is a national hero in Australia.

So, here I want to talk about a person who lends their helping hands to save or to protect the environment. It is my friend, her name is Nimi and she takes a lot of actions in order to do, to conduct various activities that saves our environment from pollution. First and foremost, she educates the local people to recycle and reuse plastics. As we know that plastics is the most disastrous pollutant that we find all around our surrounding. Therefore, she conducts various campaigns in order to acknowledge people about the hazards that plastics could create to the soil and it could also reduce the fertility of the soil that we plant our trees or we cultivate and other activities that we do like vegetation and all. They are very inspiring not only just to the elders but also to the youngsters because they keep their jobs or various other opportunities aside and rather than pointing towards their own selfish or self-needs, they are readily helping the society in order to reduce the pollution. Therefore, that is the biggest reason why I have a great revere to that particular person. She also advises others.

I can certainly say that the sanitation workers who look after the sewage treatment and in general sewage maintenance, they are some people who take care of the environment, especially in tropical areas, immensely. Firstly, they take care of day-to-day checks and they make sure that every waste of the entire city is handled, which is not an easy task at all. It's a very complex process which is also definitely underpaid, which is, it is unfortunate, but the work must be done. Recently, in this tropical place I live in, there was a recent agitation and the sanitation workers did not want to continue because they had certain demands. And as they were not being met, we saw a surge in the number of mosquitoes. However, they did come back on duty and we see that the mosquito larvae have reduced and we are directly impacted by the action or inaction by these extremely hard-working folk. I am inspired daily to do something for them, which could be provide meals or a supportive structure, if possible.

I have seen a lot of people that take care of their surroundings by recycling and protecting the environment. But the one I'm going to mention here is my childhood friend who is now contributing heavily towards preserving the diversity of our environment especially by planting the more and more trees. In recent times he has started a really good organization in which he encourages the youngsters to plant a tree daily in order to protect their environment and he addresses all of the effects on the environment that the degradation of trees are having right now. For example, the global warming is really an impressive issue nowadays. Apart from that, the unpredictability of climate has become very hazardous for the remote areas. Like recently in Punjab, the unpredictable weather caused severe rains and now half of the region has been flooded with the heavy amount of water and it has caused a severe damage to the whole vegetation and agricultural land. Apart from that, he always tries to recycle more and more plastic waste that can really cause harm to the environment in order to protect. He has now also contacted with some governmental bodies in order to provide the recycled bins in the specific areas with a lot of garbage in order to inculcate with the prevailing issue of recycling because in my area, many of the people are just throwing away the single-use plastic by using it only once.

Today I would like to talk about one of the people who do a lot to protect the environment. He is a student at our school and I have known him since the day we started school. He is someone who rides a bicycle in the modern era rather than using a car. Moreover, he uses a paper bag to carry his lunch and he always refuses to use plastic bags. He has told us a lot about how hazardous plastic bags are for the environment. Additionally, he always gives us advice on how to manage the amount of water used and how to recycle things. Emphasizing the concepts of 3R, Reduce, Recycle, Reuse, these are the lessons I have learned from him and I feel that he is someone who is not just talking about protecting the environment but is actively doing something to address the problems facing it. Even his small steps can help reduce global warming and I believe he is a valuable source of information for us. Not only for the children but also for the people living nearby. I feel inspired by him and because of his actions, I have started growing plants as much as I can due to the environment issues we face. He has also informed us about the importance of planting trees, explaining that plants provide us with oxygen and a de-oxidized nature, therefore it is essential to grow plants all in all. This is the person who helped to protect the environment.

Taking care of the environment is an important step and I personally believe that everybody should take up this step and make this place a better world to live in. So today I would like to talk about a person who initiated and who always, who initiates and who always helps in the protection of the environment. So this particular person, I met this particular person back in school where it was very strange that she used to carry paper cups and paper plates along with her for her tiffin. Like for instance, we had a teacher's day celebration back in school and she insisted the classroom that why don't we bring paper cups and use paper plates instead of bringing the thermocol sheets that we generally use for, that we generally use. And another action that she had implemented in school was to build, to plant more trees and personally due to academics, I didn't get time to initiate this activity but she used to manage and plant at least two trees a month. So that used to be her goal to, that used to be her goal for each year and in addition

A person who helps to protect the environment would be my close friend Abhinav. Abhinav is a student of Inspira Knowledge Campus enrolled in ATA which is Accountancy and Taxation. Abhinav is a role model for many people in my locality. He has taken huge steps in helping the environment. Last year he organized a fest. In the fest he demonstrated the need and importance of planting trees. He also distributed free samplings to the students. Last month he also took part in Youth Run, an event which is organized by my college every year. Youth Run is a marathon. Throughout the marathon he held a banner which says Plant Trees Save Earth. Abhinav really inspired a lot of people in my locality. Abhinav is the local superstar.

So speaking of a person who helps to protect the environment, there is my own friend named Maitri Ravani who is an environmentalist by profession. And I just love the work that she does in the nature and a lot of things that she does to protect the nature. One of those main things is what she organizes. She organizes beach cleaning drills where she gets a huge amount of crowd via forum or WhatsApp or some social media platform. And she gets people to go to a certain beach in Mumbai or some other location and clean the beach. And one more thing that she does is she organizes plantation drive in a national park that we have in our locality. She again gets a crowd from a social media platform and then they go to a location and they do a plantation drive where they manage to plant 100-200 trees or even more than that. And the main focus of the crowd is the young generation and the old generation. Young generation being the one who is going to use that nature in the future and old generation being the one planting it for them. And I just admire her for her bright work and it really creates an impact in my life. Also thinking from my particular own future or for my own kids if I get married in the near future, they will have a certain amount of natural resources and maybe some plantation, a cleaner environment to live in.

I would like to talk about my college teacher, Mrs. Radhika, who is very passionate about protecting the environment. She not only teaches science but also inspires us to live in an eco-friendly way. She believes that small actions can make big differences. For example, she always carries a cloth bag instead of using plastic bags. She also practices waste segregation at home and encourages to do the same. One of her most remarkable achievements is that she still takes care of her siblings regularly. What I admire most is that she doesn't just preach, she leads by example. She cycles to school instead of using a motorbike.
