When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My friend has a good habit of organizing and keeping things properly in their place. So, when I saw her, she actually, how I developed this is that she was actually my roommate at my MBBS college. When I first went to the room, I saw that there was a girl who was very neat and clean, all the things were kept properly in the room. As I entered the hostel room, she also offered me, I had a lot of things with me. She also offered me that she will organize the things for me, she will make the bed. She will keep the things in place properly as I was very new to the area, to the place. I had just completed school, but she was there already for about a month or so. So, as I went, she offered herself to keep the things and organizing it in the places. That's how I got a very keen interest on her that she is very helpful. She also wanted to become friends with me. Actually, that's how we connected basically. So, I opened my suitcase, it had a lot of things over there. She started to organize all the things and keeping it in the shelves and almirah with me. There is a very small almirah and I had a lot of things. But she organized them so well along with me that it fit properly and I did not have any problem. I think this habit of her slowly was inculcated into me as well as I started staying with her. And over the years, as I have stayed with her for the entire period of 5.5 years, I developed this habit. And this has helped me all together in keeping all the things in places, organizing them. And in times of chaos, when there is hurry, I can find things easily in place properly. And there is no problem, everything is properly organized.

This is a habit of my best friend, she is having a habit of reading books. I really got inspired when I came to know her experiences, usually she was reading novels, the genre she was interested and she is interested is in novels. I really love to develop that habit as I feel that reading habit is the best habit to be developed. We can see the world with different perceptions, we start reading the books, we can improve our vocabulary, it's the best habit, it's the best thing that we can do. I really love to develop this habit, I really got motivated, hopefully very soon I'll be doing that, I would love to start that habit as soon as possible.

Band 6-7

I have many friends but been specific to one. Her name is Sukhman and she is my classmate from my childhood and she is my childhood friend. She has many good habits but particularly I like the way she sorts the situation and the way she remain calm in every problem and finds a way to escape from the problem. I like to develop that hobby in me because I usually panic in a critical situation and I am unable to make a right decision at a right time and afterwards I regret. She remains so calm as she has a proper schedule and she maintains her soul spiritually calm as she wakes up early in the morning, practices yoga and goes to bed at a right time. She stays away from the phone, she stays away from the gossips. In this way she maintains her livelihood. She eats healthy and in this way she maintains her livelihood. She talks less to the people. She really inspires me.

So, in this context, I can remember of a habit of one of my friend Topo Proto. So, he was a friend from college and he had a habit of meditation. Specifically, he used to focus every day morning from 5.30 to 6.00 am. He got up early from the bed, meditated for 30 minutes and start reading. So, with this habit, he had grown a great focus. He could do a particular work with great concentration for like hours without even taking a break. But in my case, I can't do a single thing for a very long time. I have to take a break to restore my energy to do the work with my entire efficiency. So, over the time, I have seen that the task I am doing in 2 hours, he is doing the same within 1.5 hours. Because he was doing the same task continuously without taking breaks with his entire efficiency. Because of his habit of meditation in the morning. So, consistently focusing on a particular thing, getting up in the morning, he was like building his mind to do a particular work for longer time. So, this habit was really needed for me as I can't concentrate on a particular thing for longer time. So, that is the habit I want to build. I am trying now, but I can't manage that much time to wake up early and meditate. So, yeah, that is the habit I want to make. Because I also want to work the entire day with full focus and 100% efficiency.

Band 6-7

I have learned many habits from many of the friends in terms of being a good or a bad habit but the habit that I want to develop from one of my friend named Atul is I want to have a kind of egoistic that he holds. I love the way he's open-minded without giving a second thought the way he answers everyone being all egoistic is quite mesmerizing. It's in a good way not in a bad way. I love the fact how he openly says the thing without thinking about the other person's feeling like how they want to feel and the reason I want to have to develop this habit because I'm very much kind of a shy person and I barely speak with anyone and if I want something I hardly ask for it. So I want to develop this kind of habit which is quite rare but still I love the way he supports me every time. All being egoistic the way he handles everything. I want to handle like my own things by myself without asking someone's help. I want to be egoistic person a lot rather than being a soft girl or getting fooled by everyone. So I want to build this kind of habit for fun.

Band 6-7

I am reminded of my friend Dr. Anupama, who was my classmate in my med school. The habit that she usually had was to have everything done in a proper schedule. This actually allows her to be in a well-organized manner and to prepare for whatever that comes on her way. I do remember her preparing for our university exams in a very well-organized manner that everyone would look forward to. I do remember her planning things beforehand for the day coming up. She'll be waking up at the right time. She'll be completing all her morning works and chores at the right time. And then she'll be at her study table at the right time to get started with. With no other distractions, she'll complete everything on time. This is due to her habit of keeping a track on her schedules. And that is where I personally feel I do lack a lot. So I would like to have this done. And that will definitely be improving my academics, my time management skills and everything in relation to this.

Band 6-7

Okay, here I'm going to say one of my friend Rahul, and he's such a nice personality. And also it is a habit, like he's doing meditation all day. So because of that habit, he achieves a lot of good behaviour in his lifetime. Most of the time he seems like kind and calm. I asked him what's the reason behind that, and he told that because of his meditation. That's the exact reason why he can be this much calmer. After hearing all the meditation things I like to do, I just want to copy him. The way he's talking with others, the way he's handling a problem. If I were to say any example, I'd like to say one example. Because once when we go out, at that time he lost his phone. Actually someone took it from him. So at that time he was really calm, and he didn't even say a bad word about it. He told, okay, however it's gone, so can't do anything. That's what he told. I was wondering, if I were in his position, I would have died there. Because the phone is an important thing in our life, in our daily life. So I can't imagine a day without a phone. Because of all this, I like to copy his habit in my life also. That's all.

Band 6-7

So this goes back to old times when one of my best friends from my school named Sudhanshu Supekar who is also currently actually studying in Australia, Sydney as a chef had this really great habit of saving money. So what happened was during our school times he used to save money by walking right from Mumbai Central Depot to Mazgaon which is approximately 6 to 7 kilometers of distance for you to gauge just for saving 2 rupees via a bus ticket. So this is one of the habits that I want to imbibe into myself to save money because I've seen it by my first hand, eventually he used that money for a lot of other stuff that we guys could not afford, let's say he used his savings when the time when he was hungry in school and ate lots of different stuff from the canteen. But in real life to understand the same thing in today's scenario, it does not matter how much you earn or how much you are spending but it is always good to save some money and keep your pockets full for the time of when you have some issues may arise whenever.

Band 6-7

A habit my friend has would be, one of my best friend, I won't say her, one of my best friend has a good habit to go for physical activities such as like playing badminton every day. She goes to practice like for one hour for every day. I would like to develop that habit. I tried for few, I tried also but I go for few days and then I start procrastinating and stop going. So I would really love to make some space in my schedule for time for some physical activities such as pursuing a sport. I like skating and also I like badminton so I would definitely want to develop a habit to go at least one hour a day so that I can build a good physique. I can become more active in everyday life schedule. I can make my body more healthy, feel more healthy because currently I feel very tired. So I believe if I implement that in my life, I would feel more happier and it will also help in a longer run to make my health better. So definitely I would love to inculcate that habit from my friend in my life.

Band 6-7

Back in 2024, when I was pursuing my bachelor's in civil engineering, I met Tia. She is one of my closest friends and my comfort zone. She used to have a habit that is secret journaling, also known as diary entry. She developed this habit since childhood and she always insisted me to follow her habit of diary entry because it gives you immense pleasure and will always makes you feel overwhelmed and is one of the key factors for personality development. When I was staying with her during my college days, she always used to wake up early in the morning and the next thing after her morning routines she does is this diary writing. She writes about all her instincts, her thoughts and the day-to-day activities she plans. She taught me to be consistent in everything what I do. And also she is a great motivator, a helper and a person whom I can rely upon in any circumstances. Diary writing is a very intimate thing for me because it's my best friend now. We can write all our thoughts upon it. We can speak as if we are speaking to a real person, indeed. It enhances strong communication.
