One habit that my friend Rahul and I want to develop is waking up early in the morning. Rahul is one of my closest friends from college and we often discuss ways to improve ourselves and be more productive. We both feel that waking up early has many benefits. For example, it gives us extra time to plan a day, exercise or study without distractions. Currently, we both struggle with staying up late, which leads to waking up late and feeling rushed in the mornings. Developing this habit helps us feel more energetic and organized throughout the day. The main reason we want to develop this habit is to improve our productivity and time management. We believe that starting the day early will give us a sense of accomplishment and allow us to focus on our priorities. It will also help us develop a healthier lifestyle since we can use the mornings for exercise or other qualitative activities. To achieve this, we plan to go to bed earlier and set small goals like waking up just 15 minutes earlier each day until we achieve our desired routine. We also motivate each other by sending a text or a call in the morning to check if we are both up. In short, Rahul and I are determined to develop this habit because it will benefit us both physically and mentally in the long run.

Follow up questions

How do you plan to stay motivated in developing this habit?
To stay motivated, Rahul and I will set small, achievable goals and celebrate our progress. We also plan to hold each other accountable by checking in every morning. Additionally, we might reward ourselves for sticking to our routine, which will help reinforce the habit.

Have you tried waking up early before? What challenges did you face?
Yes, I have tried waking up early in the past, but I faced challenges like feeling tired and going back to sleep. I also struggled with distractions at night, which made it hard to go to bed early. However, I learned that consistency and a good bedtime routine are key to overcoming these challenges.

Okay, the habit that I used to follow is... When I was young, I have a friend whose name is Nandini. We were school friends actually. But we studied in a different school. Actually, she is my neighbor. I have a childhood friend. Her name is Nandini. We used to be neighbors when we were young. We used to go to different schools, but we were in the same grade. So, our parents always tried to compare my score with hers. She always got higher scores than me. Because she studied hard in the morning time. I always prefer to study at night time. Because I feel we have a longer period of time to study at night than in the morning. I am a very lazy person at that time. So, I can't wake up in the early morning time. If I do, I used to be very sleepy at the class. So, I skipped to study in the morning time. One day, I approached my friend. I asked her, how did you manage to get up early and be active in your school? She said, I used to sleep early to keep me awake in the morning. One day, I tried to follow that. I used to go to bed by 9 am so that I can wake up at 5 am. Unfortunately, I couldn't wake up at that time. So, I rushed up and asked her again. She said, try to do that. And I did.

Follow up questions

They help in maintaining a consistent study routine and ensure that you are prepared for exams. Additionally, having a balanced lifestyle with proper nutrition and exercise can also enhance focus and productivity.

How do you think your friend's habit influenced your study habits?
My friend's habit of waking up early and studying in the morning inspired me to reconsider my own study schedule. It made me realize that starting the day with studying could be more effective for retaining information. Although I struggled initially, it motivated me to try new approaches to my study routine.

Have you successfully developed any other habits since then?
Yes, since then, I've successfully developed a habit of planning my study sessions in advance. I also try to incorporate short breaks to keep my mind fresh. Additionally, I've started practicing mindfulness techniques to improve my concentration, which has positively impacted my overall academic performance.

One positive habit my friend has and that I genuinely want to develop is his incredible consistency in maintaining a daily routine. His name is Arjun and he is one of the best, most disciplined people I know. We have been close friends since school, so I have seen his habits evolve over the years. Arjun has a very structured lifestyle, no matter how busy or tired he is, he never skips the morning routine. He wakes up early, meditates for 10 minutes, exercises and then plans his entire day in a small notebook. What impresses me the most is that he never breaks this pattern. Even during exam or stressful days, he sticks to it and the same level of dedication. I want to develop his habit because consistency is something I struggle with. I start things with a lot of motivation, but eventually my energy fades and I lose track. Watching Arjun has made me realize that real progress doesn't come from occasionally big efforts, but from small actions done every single day, his routine has made him more focused, productive and calm and I really admire that. If I develop this habit, I believe it will help me manage my time better, stay mentally stable and achieve my long-term goals more efficiently. In the fast-paced world we live in, having the consistency routine is almost like a superpower and I hope I can build that discipline just like Arjun.

Follow up questions

How do you think consistency impacts personal development?
Consistency plays a crucial role in personal development as it helps build habits that lead to long-term success. When you consistently work towards your goals, you create a routine that fosters discipline and resilience, making it easier to overcome challenges and stay focused on your objectives.

What challenges do you face in developing new habits?
One of the main challenges I face is maintaining motivation over time. I often start with enthusiasm but struggle to keep it up. Additionally, distractions from daily life can derail my efforts, making it difficult to stick to new habits consistently, especially when faced with stress or busy schedules.

Can you share any strategies to build consistency in daily routines?
To build consistency, I plan to start small by setting achievable goals and gradually increasing them. Using reminders, tracking my progress, and finding an accountability partner can also help. Additionally, I will try to create a positive environment that encourages sticking to my routine, just like Arjun does.

One of my close friend Rhea has a wonderful habit that I truly admire. She wakes up early in the morning and starts her day with a short workout and some reading. I have noticed that this habit makes her very energetic, positive and organized throughout the day. Rhea usually wakes up around 5.30am, goes for a jog and then spend about 20 minutes reading something new like a personal growth book or the news. Because of this routine, she is always calm, focused and rarely stressed even during exams or busy schedules. I really want to develop this habit because I often struggle with managing my time and staying productive. I tend to wake up late which makes me rush throughout the day. If I could start my morning like her, I believe I would be able to plan my day better and feel more motivated to complete all my tasks.

Follow up questions

What challenges do you think you might face in developing this habit?
I believe the biggest challenge would be adjusting my sleep schedule. Waking up early requires going to bed earlier, which can be difficult due to my current routine. Additionally, staying consistent with the workout and reading might be tough, especially on days when I feel tired or busy.

How do you think waking up early can impact your overall lifestyle?
Waking up early can significantly improve my productivity and mental health. It allows me to start the day with a sense of accomplishment and gives me quiet time to focus on my goals. This could lead to better time management and less stress throughout the day.

Have you tried any strategies to wake up earlier in the past?
Yes, I have tried setting multiple alarms and placing my alarm clock across the room to force myself to get up. I also experimented with going to bed earlier, but I often found myself distracted by screens or other activities, which made it hard to stick to the plan.

When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My old friend Ria has a great habit of waking up early in the morning to go for a jog. She's been doing it for a couple of years and I really admire her dedication. This habit keeps her energetic and helps her stay focused all day. I want to develop this habit because I often wake up late and feel unproductive. If I could start my day early like her, I'd have more time to exercise, plan my day and stay active both mentally and physically. Overall, I think following her routine would make my lifestyle much healthier and more balanced. Thank you for watching!

I would like to describe a habit that my close friend has and I would really like to adapt and develop myself. The habit is waking up early and following a disciplined morning routine. My friend wakes up around 5.30 am every day even on weekends. Instead of checking her phone, she starts her day with a short meditation followed by a light exercise and reading for about 20 minutes. She then plans her tasks for the day. Because of this routine, she always seems calm, focused and well-organized. What I admire the most is about the habit, how productive she is and positive it makes her. She completes her work on time and still finds time for herself and her family. Even during stressful situations, she handles things patiently which I believe is the result for a disciplined lifestyle. In contrast, I usually wake up late and rush through my mornings which makes me feel stressed for the rest of the day. Seeing the positive impact this habit has on my friend has motivated me to adapt it. I believe that if I develop this habit, I will improve my time management, mental health and overall quality of life. To conclude, my friend's habit of waking up early and maintaining a structured morning routine inspires me greatly and it is a habit I genuinely wish to develop in future.

Band 7

I strongly believe that good habits are like the backbone of a successful life as they reflect our personality and manners. Here I would like to talk about a wonderful habit of my friend, which is her punctuality. Her name is Anju and we have been friends since our college days. Speaking of her habit, she is always on time, whether it is attending classes, completing assignments, honestly she is on time in everything and this quality makes her stand out from others. As far as I remember, I first noticed this habit during our exam preparation, while I usually delayed my work, she always managed her time wisely. Because of this, she completed her revision in advance, whereas I stressed at the last moment. The key reason why I want to develop this habit is that punctuality not only saves the valuable time, but also adds discipline to life. In fact, it makes a person more reliable and trustworthy. As people say, time and tide wait for none, so if I become punctual like her, I believe I can achieve my goals more easily. And in all, this good habit of my friend inspires me a lot and truly I want to copy her punctuality in my life.

Band 7

I have a friend named Krishna Sharma who has this amazing habit of observing and socializing with people which I don't. So I want to develop this habit of being able to socialize with random people or at least my friends and relatives and make observations out of some random things so that it could help me to sharpen my mind and people would not have this opinion of me that I am a very rude person. I also feel that sometimes I am in a cocoon and I want to break that shell and live and see the world in a very new form. For instance, in my college I don't even know all the names of my classmates or teachers because I am so into myself, my books and my story that I could not even network or socialize with the people around me. And later on I found out that they have this opinion on me that I am a very rude person or self-obsessed person and I have some superiority complex which made me feel sad because I know that I am not such a kind of person. So I would like to change that perspective of mine from various people and it's always great to come out of your cocoon, learn some new things, develop good habits which will help you in your life someday.

Band 7

A habit that my friend has that I want to develop genuinely is confidence and persistence. So this friend is from back in college, I met her in my first year and we are still friends. I love the way she is very confident in everything she does. In addition to it, she does not hesitate or back from any challenge that comes her way. She stands up front, she is bold and courageous and with confidence she fights it back irrespective of the outcome of the situation. In addition to this, she also has perseverance. She never stops herself, never underestimates herself. She makes sure to be present for herself at every step. Along with her confidence, she is hardworking which helps her achieve the goals she meets. Moreover, I have personally seen her hit all time low many times but the charming thing about her is she never backs off. She always tries and always strives to be the best in everything she does and that's what I admire the most about her. That is her confidence and her perseverance in everything she does.

I would like to talk about a habit my close friend Aisha has that I truly admire and would like to adopt myself. She has a consistent habit of exercising every morning no matter how busy her day is. Whether it's running, doing yoga or simple stretching at home, she never misses her routine. What fascinates me about this habit is not about the physical fitness it brings but also how it positively affects her mindset. She always seems energetic, focused and optimistic throughout the day. Her mornings are structured and she manages to accomplish a lot more compared to most people I know. I have noticed that even on days when she is stressed, a short workout helps her relax and regain mental clarity. On the other hand, I struggle with maintaining any regular exercise routine. I often make excuses like being too tired or busy. Seeing her dedication motivates me to build the same discipline. I want to develop this habit because I know it will improve my health, boost my energy levels and make even more productive days in my life. I have already started taking small steps like going for short walks in the evening and doing a few stretches in the morning. My goal is gradually to build a full morning workout routine like hers. I truly believe that adopting this habit would not only benefit me physically but also mentally.

The friend I am going to talk about now is my college friend and she is with me for like an year or so. So, this friend of mine has a habit of planning her week on the Saturday evening. Every Saturday or Sunday evening, she sits down with a pen and a book and plans her complete week from Monday to Saturday. She has a priority list for each and every task. She classifies them as most important, less important and can be conducted afterwards. This helps, this classification helps her to make her week more fruitful and this also helps to organize her work and I would like to inculcate this habit because this habit not just makes you more focused but it also nullifies all the unwanted tasks and makes your week more productive and efficient. It also helps you to be, make a better career and it also helps you in other aspects of your life like studying, focusing on your job and your side business if you have any. So, this in general helps you in your personal and professional life.

One of my friends has this habit of working out regularly and I admire this quality in him very much, moreover not only does he workout in the regular sense of the word like going to the gym etc. but he also varies his workouts such as adding other types of exercise like bicycling running and swimming etc. I think working out is very important in one's life and I have always appreciated how well he works out and how regularly he is at it. Apart from that I think working out has several other benefits like improving your overall lifestyle, it gives you a sense of confidence when you have a great physique and working out or exercising regularly helps you build a great physique. In addition to that regular exercise can also improve your mental health. I've noticed all these good qualities build in him as he continued to use his body regularly and put it to stress and build it and I wish I could be as regular as him at exercise and not only that but I also love how he never skips a day when he is working out.

One habit I want to learn from my friend is writing. My friend Hajara is an author and a journalist for a popular journal media. It's called The Wire. She is a researcher under the journalist Karan Thapar. She is known for her exceptional writing, consistency and politically critical articles. In fact, I would argue that Haju probably would have more than 50 articles written by far and this is in the span of last 2 years. I would say I like or I favour this particular habit because I would want to create and write articles, reports and blogs similar to Haju. I believe that with a lot of practice and a lot of skill development this can be achieved. Though I would say Haju is more talented hence I would have to put in extra effort to reach the same goal as Haju. Similarly, I also find it fascinating how Nandu, my other friend, is able to write with a lot of wisdom.

Band 7

A habit of my friend that I want to develop is waking up early and exercising. So my friend, she is my roommate and she has set her mind that she will wake up every day around 7.30 to 8 in the morning and do at least one hour of Zumba or Bollywood dancing. So what I find attractive about this is I am a person who loves dancing. Usually people tend to get lazy when we think of exercise, right? But if we can do exercise by inculcating something that we are fond of, I think we will definitely get up every day and do it. And these days, after a hectic schedule and sitting in front of the computer for long hours, it turned into cows and mouse potatoes. So as a result, our body needs exercise. So I feel if I indulge in this practice every day, I will have a better, fitter and healthier body.
