When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So one of my best friend is definitely my husband and he is very disciplined and very organized. Moreover, he is really good at planning things and doing it on time and I would love to have all of his qualities. Because I am a procrastinator and a perfectionist and I don't think it is realistic to always be a perfectionist because you will never be perfect. Secondly, you can make mistakes and thirdly, you can always learn from it. So discipline is one of the things that I really want to borrow from him and then cultivate it in my own personal life and then develop it everyday. I would also love to be an organized person because I am a very messy person when it comes to writing notes or keeping the room clean. Looking at him, he seems to have a space in laptop as well as in the corner of the room to keep things in order and in a tidy neat way. Moreover, it is very important to have these habits ingrained in you for a smooth, better, successful future. It would only help me to be more structured in the work I do and helps me in making things smooth in my life.

One of my childhood friend, Nesra, has a very good habit of time management. She is someone who can manage time like it's her second nature. She is currently studying MBBS, which is basically medicine. And since she is studying medicine, it takes most of her time to prepare for her exams, prepare for her classes, and just studying in general. But at the same time, she is a very active person. She actively participates in marathons, she goes to the gym, and she eats clean. I am a huge fan of her lifestyle. The way she can manage her academics as well as her health is something I would love to learn from her. Her ability to be able to ace her classes at the same time maintaining her weight and her internal organs' health is just something which I would love to learn from her. My objective is just to be healthy. So, being able to inculcate few of her time management skills would be of great benefit for me.

One habit that I really admire and would love to pick up belongs to my best friend Arjun, who I have known since our childhood days. The habit I am talking about is his rock solid morning routine. No matter how late he sleeps or how busy his schedule is, he wakes up at 5.30 every single morning without an alarm. He starts his day with 20 minutes of meditation followed by a quick workout and he journals for about 10 minutes before having breakfast. It's almost scary how consistent he is. I have seen this routine in action countless times because we used to live together for 2 years after graduation. Even on weekends or when he had deadlines looming, he'd never skip it. At first I used to tease him calling him a robot but over time I noticed how much it actually transformed his life. The reason I am so keen to develop this habit myself is that the results are impossible to ignore. Arjun is always calm, under pressure, super productive and rarely gets sick. He says the early starts gives him a couple of quiet hours when the world is still asleep and that sets the tone for the entire day. Honestly, whenever I compare my chaotic mornings, scrolling on my phone in bed, rushing out the door half awake with his peaceful intentional start, I feel like I am missing out on something really valuable. So yeah, Arjun's morning habit has become my ultimate inspiration. Finger crossed I...

There are various habits that you should learn from other people you interact with. One of the habits that I found very interesting and helpful was from my friend Amisha. She used to wake up early in the morning, like 5 o'clock in the morning and she also used to go to bed very early, like 10.30 or so. I discovered this habit when we were preparing for exams. We had a common exam in our college days, so we used to study together. On one occasion, she had decided to come to my place and we were going to study together and she was going to spend the night in my house as well. At that night, she completed her studies by 10.30 and told me that she is off to bed now and I was surprised to see that how can she go to sleep this early. However, she said that she wanted to wake up early at 5 o'clock and revise all the questions. So, she went to bed early and at that time, I asked her, what does it matter, what effect does it have? She explained it to me that in mornings, the nature is night, you are refreshed by waking up and you take the task and the questions more seriously, you are concentrating more, so it is easier to complete a task and learn efficiently rather than keeping awake at night like an owl and not even getting half the task done and from then onwards, I am trying to implement those habits into myself. She made me realize that not only it helps to study better in the morning but it also helps with her hormonal imbalance and her skin problems and gut problems have all gone because of sleeping early habit. Also that it gives you more room and more time for the day.

Okay, thank you for that question. When I think of a habit that my friend has that I really would love to develop is my closest friend Ananya who has the habit of waking up early in the morning and doing something before she touches her phone. So she spends about 40 to 50 minutes a day when she wakes up and does not touch her phone and she is in her focus zone where she prioritizes her tasks and sets out her goals and wants to be productive and if she doesn't have any particular task for the day, she does yoga or does some sort of a physical activity to get her blood pumping, to get her adrenaline running, get those endorphins and I think that is one of the most healthy habits one can develop because I know biologically, scientifically that it resets your clock. It makes sure that you don't get extremely stressed after you wake up and having that me time is absolutely essential for peace throughout the day. I have the habit of as soon as I wake up, I have FOMO, I have the fear of missing out. I touch my phone, I take my phone out and I'm scrolling, doom scrolling, scrolling socials immediately because I'm worried that I've missed something and what that does is it sends me into a negative feedback loop where I'm like, oh have I missed something, have I missed something and I wake up and I see something that has gone wrong in the world and my entire day is affected by that same mindset and this also leans into me not being able to separate my social life from my real life and unable to focus on myself and I know that there is this phrase where it's like health is wealth and you are supposed to prioritise your health but that becomes really difficult when you are somebody who grew up in the social media age and I think my friend has done a really good job separating herself from the constant feed and I would love to do that.

A habit that my friend has developed and I want to develop is time management. In today's time, time management is a quintessential habit to have. My friend does efficient time management to spend the limited time that everyone has in a proper manner. He indulges into a variety of activities like sports. In sports, he plays football and he usually plays football for an hour every day. In music, he participates in a band and he is the lead guitarist in it. He also goes to various parties but obviously he manages his time properly. He does not go to every party. He strategizes and selects on which party he wants to go. He manages his studies alongside all these extracurricular activities. He is constantly getting good grades and is focused. Another habit which he has is the art of saying no. He does not say yes to every activity, either it is going to play to the garden with his friends or talking to his friends on the phone calls. He says no at the time he is studying and does proper time management. This habit is something that even I want to incorporate in myself. It is extremely vital to do proper time management to become successful and to complete all my tasks efficiently and within the deadlines. Time management will not only help me to improve my grades but will also help me to do a variety of activities to improve my overall portfolio and my character. I can indulge into practicing various sports activities like learn new sports and skills like basketball, in musical instruments, playing the tabla and also doing activities which are easy to do at home like cooking.

One positive habit my friend has and that I genuinely want to develop is his incredible consistency in maintaining a daily routine. His name is Arjun and he is one of the best, most disciplined people I know. We have been close friends since school, so I have seen his habits evolve over the years. Arjun has a very structured lifestyle, no matter how busy or tired he is, he never skips the morning routine. He wakes up early, meditates for 10 minutes, exercises and then plans his entire day in a small notebook. What impresses me the most is that he never breaks this pattern. Even during exam or stressful days, he sticks to it and the same level of dedication. I want to develop his habit because consistency is something I struggle with. I start things with a lot of motivation, but eventually my energy fades and I lose track. Watching Arjun has made me realize that real progress doesn't come from occasionally big efforts, but from small actions done every single day, his routine has made him more focused, productive and calm and I really admire that. If I develop this habit, I believe it will help me manage my time better, stay mentally stable and achieve my long-term goals more efficiently. In the fast-paced world we live in, having the consistency routine is almost like a superpower and I hope I can build that discipline just like Arjun.

I'd like to talk about a habit of my close friend Prathamesh that I deeply admire and would love to incorporate into my own life. It's his incredible ability to be proactive early riser. While many people wake up early, Prathamesh does so with purpose and discipline and it truly shapes his day. He wakes up religiously at 5.30am every single day including weekends. Crucially, he doesn't just lie in bed, he immediately starts his day with activities dedicated purely to himself. He uses the first hour for two things, 30 minutes of silent meditation and journaling followed by a quick, vigorous workout. I find this habit so desirable because it gives a massive head start.

Band 7

So, the one habit which I'd like to incorporate from a friend of mine is the habit of working hard, being disciplined and developing side hustles along with the main source of working along with his conventional career. It is a habit present in my best friend and it is something I really admire about him. The zeal he has to work hard and go above and beyond the conventional course. He makes it a point to research, take out time from his daily schedule even if it's a few minutes or a couple of hours. He makes sure to work upon his side hustle and I feel it is the need of the hour to develop any new money making habit or any additional source of income due to the increasing competition in addition to the benefit of the additional source of income it will provide to you because one really can't rely on just one source of income nowadays. There is a high recession going on all over the world and in addition to giving you the discipline and developing the hardworking skills which you have it is something which will help you utilize your time more efficiently.
