One of the most difficult things I've ever done was participating in an inter-college debate competition and actually winning first place. I've always been quite shy when it comes to public speaking, so standing in front of a large audience and expressing my opinions confidently was a real challenge for me. When I first heard about the competition, I was hesitated to participate because I was afraid of forgetting my points or getting nervous on the stage. But one of my professors encouraged me to give it a try, saying it would help me grow. So I decided to step out of my comfort zone. To prepare, I went weeks researching the topic, which was about the impact of social media on society. I practiced my speech multiple times in front of friends and even recorded myself to prove my tone and body language. Despite all the preparation, I was extremely anxious on the day of event. My hands were literally trembling when I walked up to the stage. However, once I started speaking, I gradually gained confidence. The audience engagement motivated me and I managed to deliver my arguments clearly and passionately. When the results were announced, I was declared the winner. I was absolutely thrilled. It felt like a huge personal victory, not just because I won, but because I conquered my fear of public speaking. That experience taught me that real growth happens outside your comfort zone. Now whenever I face new challenge, I remind myself of that moment and instantly it boosts my confidence.

Follow up questions

How did you feel before and after the competition?
Before the competition, I felt a mix of anxiety and excitement. I was scared of failing but also eager to prove myself. After winning, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and joy. It was a transformative experience that boosted my confidence significantly.

What skills did you develop from this experience?
I developed several skills, including public speaking, research, and critical thinking. Preparing for the debate taught me how to articulate my thoughts clearly and engage an audience, which are valuable skills in both academic and professional settings.

Would you participate in another debate competition?
Absolutely! After this experience, I feel much more confident in my public speaking abilities. I would love to participate in more competitions to further hone my skills and challenge myself in different topics.

For me, a difficult thing that I did and succeeded in was the habit of getting into reading. Well, ever since I was young, for me, reading had always been a difficult task as I was not able to concentrate very long and books initially seemed very boring to me. My mother insisted that I start reading books because she has always been a big fan of books and have encouraged me to pick it up and read it. But I had always been sceptical since I had the habit of only reading the books that had photos in it. When my mother suggested that I read novels, I was very sceptical and I was not very interested in it. The first book that I read, it was the toughest book to read because I was not in the habit of reading. It was time consuming and it required a lot of dedication. But as I consistently started reading the book, by the time I finished that book, I had gotten into a habit of reading books. The things I did so that I could get into the habit was I used to dedicate one hour every day to reading books and soon it became two and three hours because I started enjoying the books that I read. Once I got into the habit of reading, I felt a sense of accomplishment because this had been a thing that I had seen as a major setback that I was not into the habit of reading. And my vocabulary and my English enhanced a lot due to reading books.

Follow up questions

What specific strategies helped you improve your reading habit?
I set aside a dedicated time each day for reading, starting with one hour and gradually increasing it. I also chose books that interested me, which made the process enjoyable. Additionally, I kept a journal to note down new words and ideas, which motivated me to read more.

How did reading change your perspective on learning?
Reading opened up new worlds for me and made learning more enjoyable. I realized that books could provide knowledge and entertainment simultaneously. It shifted my view from seeing reading as a chore to viewing it as a valuable tool for personal growth and understanding.

What types of books do you enjoy reading now?
Now, I enjoy a variety of genres, including fiction, non-fiction, and self-help. I particularly love novels that explore deep themes and character development. I also read books on topics like psychology and history, which have broadened my understanding of the world.

The most difficult thing that I did was to clear the Mahadasha and Saptasha period of Jupiter and Rahu. I had severe blackouts along with memory loss and I was not able to focus on a particular thing. To add flavor to that salt, I had 5-6 backlogs from Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and was not able to complete the degree in 2013. It took almost 2 extra years to complete them. But the main important part that I emphasized on was Patience, Perseverance and Persistence. I had that 3 qualities with which I was able to succeed. It was a period of stuff but I managed somehow with the help of parents. Along with that, getting a job after engineering was the most challenging part. I prepared for interviews and ensured that I was selected at almost all the rounds which I gave.

Follow up questions

How did you manage your time while dealing with your backlogs?
I created a strict study schedule that allowed me to allocate specific time slots for each subject. I prioritized the subjects I found most challenging and made sure to stick to my plan. Additionally, I sought help from classmates and professors whenever I faced difficulties.

What role did your parents play in your journey?
My parents were my biggest support system during this tough time. They encouraged me to stay focused and motivated. They also helped me with my studies by providing resources and sometimes even tutoring me in subjects I struggled with.

What strategies did you use to prepare for your job interviews?
I researched common interview questions and practiced my responses. I also participated in mock interviews to build my confidence. Additionally, I focused on understanding the companies I applied to, which helped me tailor my answers to align with their values and goals.

A difficult thing that I did and succeeded in would be writing my entrance exam to join a bachelor's in architecture. This exam is called NATA and I wrote it about six years ago. It was difficult because of the large number of students writing this every year and securing a good rank was definitely a difficult task. I was able to succeed and secure the 11th rank in the country and I think that is one of my biggest achievements till date. I remember my parents beaming with pride and calling up all my relatives to tell about this achievement. I was immensely happy and the day I got those results was something I would never forget. I prepared for this exam by consistently working on it every day and giving a few hours on different subjects every day. I think that rigorous way of learning and that relentless efforts definitely made me achieve this and I will till date take away all the lessons I've learnt while preparing for this exam. It is truly something I hold true to my heart and very dear to my heart.

Follow up questions

What motivated you to pursue a bachelor's in architecture?
I have always been passionate about design and creativity. Architecture allows me to combine my artistic skills with practical problem-solving, which motivates me to pursue this field.

How did you manage your time while preparing for the exam?
I created a study schedule that allocated specific hours for each subject. This helped me stay organized and ensured that I covered all topics thoroughly without feeling overwhelmed.

What advice would you give to someone preparing for a similar exam?
I would advise them to stay consistent in their studies, practice regularly, and not hesitate to seek help when needed. It's also important to stay positive and believe in oneself throughout the preparation process.

One of the most challenging experiences of my life was attending a conference for my last internship. I travelled to Hyderabad all alone in the middle of the night and I was very terrified because I'd never been away from my family before that. I'd never travelled on my own and also I was visiting a place where everyone was going to be a stranger so it was very difficult but when I went there I met a couple of delegates from the conference right at the airport and we quickly became friends. I travelled to the venue with them and throughout the five days I spent a lot of time learning new things, having conversations with people that I still have not met again but people that I still consider as friends. I even got to deliver a space for around 200 people and it was really terrifying but it definitely made me a more confident person and yes I'm really glad that I took the step to do that.

Follow up questions

What skills did you develop from attending the conference?
Attending the conference helped me develop my public speaking skills, as I had to deliver a speech in front of 200 people. I also improved my networking abilities by connecting with delegates and learning how to engage in meaningful conversations.

How did you prepare for your speech at the conference?
I prepared for my speech by researching my topic thoroughly and practicing in front of a mirror and with friends. I also timed myself to ensure I stayed within the allotted time and focused on delivering my message clearly and confidently.

What advice would you give to someone facing a similar challenge?
I would advise them to embrace the fear and uncertainty, as it often leads to personal growth. It's important to prepare well, seek support from others, and remember that stepping out of your comfort zone can lead to rewarding experiences.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

First of all I would say that I am a person who loves to explore everything even if it is a difficult one. Here I would like to talk about something that I succeeded and succeeded but it was very difficult for me for the first time. I am very fascinated about driving and I found it very difficult for me for the first time. It was like an uphill battle for me and through practice and perseverance it became like a piece of cake. At first time when I hold the steering for the first time I felt like a fish out of water and later through the practice and guidance from the trainer and the encouragement from my family side and other people have encouraged continuously and I have achieved this milestone and acquired the driving license at the age of 18 and it was like a milestone in my life because driving was not at all an easy job. It can be earned through practice, perseverance, hard work and determination everything combines and the effort I put towards achieving it was like I burnt the midnight oil for days and nights understanding the practical mechanism of driving a car, the theoretical lessons and the knowledge of driving a car and all. I hope everyone should experience driving once in life because it's an essential skill to survive and even like a male and female regardless of their gender.

    Band 6-7

A difficult thing that I did, it may sound very small to you but it was a herculean task for me at that point of time and it was to convince my parents to study in a different city other than my hometown. That was something which never have been accomplished by any of my family members. None of my family members went out to pursue higher education but after scoring very well in all of my examinations in my 10th and 12th standard, I felt like there is room for more improvement and I can gain more knowledge by studying in a different city. So I started convincing my parents when I was in 11th and slowly slowly I was putting the idea into their head, obviously with which they didn't agree at that point of time. After my 12th board, as my result was declared, what my parents realized is that their child can pursue more and have more potential and so after almost a year of completing 12th, I even got my admission in the bachelors course but my parents were not agreeing to it.
