I learned from my grandma the scratching of woolen, and it's like making a cloth or a socks or a caps from a scratching. When I was in primary school, I saw my grandma knitting my sweater, socks, and a cap. So while seeing her, I learned that scratching from her, and I love to see her scratching, and it's a very precious time for me. When she used to knit the caps and socks for my parents or my siblings, I used to help her to scratch it and stitch it. So I think it is the most important in our life to make our cultures stay in our heart. Knitting is the most cultural way of our older peoples to make their life. Nowadays, all were designed by the machine or some mix fabricated.

Follow up questions

What other skills have you learned from older generations?
Apart from knitting, I've learned cooking traditional recipes from my parents and gardening techniques from my grandparents. These skills not only connect me to my heritage but also allow me to appreciate the effort and love that goes into creating something from scratch.

How do you think these skills impact your life today?
These skills have taught me patience and creativity. Knitting, for instance, requires focus and attention to detail, which helps me in other areas of my life. Additionally, cooking traditional meals brings my family together and keeps our cultural traditions alive.

Do you think younger generations value these traditional skills?
I believe some younger people do value these skills, especially as they seek to reconnect with their roots. However, many are more inclined towards modern technology and convenience, which can lead to a decline in traditional practices like knitting and handcrafting.

The skill which I learnt from an older person is their keen observation on different life situations. I learnt this from my grandmother and whenever I have any situations or I face some situations or she always gives me some advice and it has helped me a lot to improve my character. She also has faced many ups and downs in her life so that she gives advice to people, to the younger ones in her family. In addition to that, I was very impressed to know that she also had some ups and she learnt from her negatives.

Follow up questions

How has your grandmother's advice specifically helped you in difficult situations?
Her advice has guided me through tough times by providing a different perspective. For instance, when I faced challenges in school, her insights helped me stay calm and focused, allowing me to approach problems more effectively.

Can you share a specific example of advice your grandmother gave you?
One memorable piece of advice was when she told me to always look for the lesson in every failure. This helped me to not be discouraged by setbacks, but rather to learn and grow from them, which has been invaluable in my personal development.

What other skills have you learned from older generations?
Apart from keen observation, I've learned patience and resilience. My grandfather taught me the importance of staying calm under pressure, which has been crucial in both my studies and personal life, helping me to navigate challenges more effectively.

Learning mathematics has greatly influenced my daily life by enhancing my problem-solving skills. I can quickly calculate expenses, manage budgets, and even help friends with their math-related queries. This skill has made me more confident in handling real-life situations that require quick thinking.

What other skills do you think are important to learn from older generations?
Apart from mathematics, I believe skills like cooking, traditional crafts, and effective communication are crucial. Older generations possess a wealth of knowledge and experience that can help us navigate life better. Learning these skills can also strengthen family bonds and preserve cultural heritage.

Do you think technology affects how we learn skills today?
Yes, technology has significantly changed how we learn skills today. While it provides access to online resources and tutorials, it can also lead to dependency on tools like calculators. I believe a balance is essential; we should leverage technology while also valuing traditional methods of learning from experienced individuals.

When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So the current generation, especially the Gen Z, there is a trend called as hustle culture. So this is good for some extent, but it also misguides people into overworking and also expecting quick results. So there is one aspect in human life which we have to concentrate while doing the hustle culture, that is patience. So patience is something which I have observed in my father during his work and naturally the way he is. So adding that property into my life has increased my productivity of work into 100.
