The story which I hold dear to me and have listened to it through millions of times when I was a child. The story is about my pet dog who lived with my grandmother named Jimmy. He was a pet dog who encountered a monkey one day and he was badly beaten by him. My grandmother told me the story that when he encountered the monkey he started barking at him but the monkey instead of being scared he came to the dog and slapped him twice on his face. After that my dog who was a dramatic actor ran away from the house and came back two days later. I remember that story because the way my grandmother told me that was very funny and very engaging to me.

Me and my friend Moshin have a lot of conversations regarding difficulties that we face in life and even the problems that we face because we are very vulnerable with each other and that's why I think we have that vibe and the zone in which things do come out in a flow. Once a story that I didn't remember was told by Moshin to me when I told him that I had a lot of pressure at home regarding my wedding and I was not quite ready for it. He told me one thing about how to react when your family is putting a pressure and that really stayed with me even throughout these years. To begin with, me and him met in a cafe and we are casually talking when he said that there was something different about me and he noticed that a while back and he really wanted to meet me regarding that. Eventually, we had a conversation where I had refused to tell what it is and brushed it off like it was nothing. However, he has been my friend for years so he noticed that there was something wrong when he asked me and after that he told me that I was going through a hard time and he wanted to give me an advice I was open for. He told me that if the other people have a conduct and personality in a wrong way, it doesn't mean that you turn into that and parents are parents. You cannot deny the fact that they are a generation apart from you and your mindset so you have to adjust with that and just be okay and obey them and try to make them understand what is your perspective. This was a lesson for life for me and I will always stick by that and I have been more lenient towards my parents thinking that they are human beings before they are my parents and they can make mistakes, they might not understand things as well as I can. That one particular incident

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

As a kid, I used to read a lot of story books. These stories were mostly Panchatantra and Jataka tales. These stories are about animals narrating stories. It happens between animals. So the most amazing part of it is, the stories act like animals narrating or animals talking to each other, which is very fascinating. Because we only see humans talking, so we don't... As a child, I was curious about animals having a conversation, and that was something that kept on my toes. And I wanted to know more about it, and I kept reading a lot of Jataka tales and Panchatantra tales. These animal stories helped me learn morals and many other values. So I remember it fondly even today because I am a teacher. So when I teach these tales to my children, it resonates really well with me because it's been my childhood, and I've enjoyed reading all these kind of books during my childhood time. I fondly remember how I used to become one of the characters from those stories, and I used to even talk to dogs and cats, and it used to be one of my favorite memories. So still today, since it's become a part of my teaching career, I happily remember those sweet memories of mine.

Follow up questions

What lessons did you learn from the stories you read as a child?
The stories taught me important morals like honesty, kindness, and the value of friendship. They often conveyed life lessons through the adventures of animals, making it easier for me to understand complex ideas. These lessons have stayed with me and influence how I teach my students today.

How do you incorporate these stories into your teaching?
I use these tales to engage my students and teach them moral values. I often narrate the stories during class, encouraging discussions about the characters and their decisions. This not only makes learning fun but also helps students relate to the lessons in their own lives.

Do you think storytelling is important in education?
Absolutely! Storytelling captivates students' attention and makes learning memorable. It fosters imagination and critical thinking. By sharing stories, I can connect with my students on a personal level, making the lessons more impactful and relatable for them.

Oh fuck! What is going on? What it was about? Today I am going to tell you about a story which was told by my grandmother. It was about the thirsty crow and it has many features and many moral values in it. It was about a thirsty crow. We all have read this story but as the topic is today that somebody told me, I will tell you this. So she told me that there was a thirsty crow who was very thirsty and he was finding water to drink. Somehow he saw a pot which was filled with water but it was halfly filled. When he came near to it, he tried to drink but his face was not up to the water level. He tried to drink it but he failed many times. After that he tried to put the stones in the water and somehow the water gets up and he drank the water. I got the value from it that we should never feel ourselves fail in something. We should try until we get success in something. So the story was very good that my grandmother told me and I always learn the moral things from that story in my life. If I am doing some work, I fail, I try again and again until I got success. So this is the story that my grandmother told me and I use the moral of it in my whole life.

Follow up questions

What other stories did your grandmother tell you?
My grandmother told me many stories, like 'The Tortoise and the Hare' and 'The Lion and the Mouse'. Each story has its own moral, and I always enjoyed listening to them. They taught me important lessons about perseverance, kindness, and humility.

How do you think stories impact our lives?
Stories have a significant impact on our lives as they convey moral lessons and values. They help shape our understanding of right and wrong, inspire us to overcome challenges, and connect us with our culture and heritage. I believe they play a crucial role in personal development.

Do you prefer listening to stories or reading them?
I prefer listening to stories because it feels more personal and engaging. Hearing my grandmother's voice while she narrates brings the story to life. However, reading stories also has its charm, as it allows me to imagine the characters and settings in my own way.

One of my favorite stories that my grandmother told me is about the history of our culture. There were many things like how they live, how they cook and their expressions. In my vacations, I always go to my village. She pampered me a lot and every night she told me a different story. One of my favorite stories was the story of the croc and the throat. I also learned in my textbook that one day a lion was sleeping under a tree. A mouse came and he played with the lion's tail. The lion was angry and the mouse requested the lion to save his life. The lion released him and after one day he was in a dangerous situation.

So there he had a different kinds of experience. While going on a train, he told me that he had a shocking experience while he was being stopped, he was in a, between a station, he, the train was stopped, he went out and had some snacks. Till that time, he heard a horn of a train that indicated him the train will go now. So suddenly he ran and he, he went inside the train. So it was a very kind of story that the reason behind which for which I remember the story is the same kind of story happened with me when I was going to Hubli in 2022. So it was like I was getting a flashback that I also faced such a situation when I was boarding to the train. Sure, so my maternal grandmother used to tell us stories all the time and we were mostly fascinated with the genre of horror stories and once she decided to tell us a story, according to legends, it really actually happened. So it's a story which is based in Punjab in the village of Ludhiana and the story is about a newly married couple who just shifted in the town and one day the family decided to go outside for a general outing and the new bride was at the house preparing meals for the entire family. So what actually happened in there was that the bride apparently was cooking the food while her own leg was inside the oven. So the thing is that she was actually a witch is what the villagers actually believed. So that's the story which you know once my maternal grandmother told all of us, all me and my cousins and my friends who were at my house. You know that's what we heard. Once, a king had seven sons and all of them went for fish hunting. Each one got one fish. All of them dried the fishes under the sun. But one fish didn't get dry and the son was questioned by the king. The son couldn't answer to his father's question and he starts crying. So, the son happened to go to the son and asked, son, son, why didn't you make my son's fish dry. The son points out to the hay line and it says, it is due to the hay. Then he goes to hay and asks, why are you here and why are you stopping. Hay says, I am here because cow didn't eat. And he goes to cow and cow says that his owner, the farmer didn't eat.

I remember it very precisely because of its unique characterization. Mukund is from a middle class man who is desperate about his passion of becoming an army officer. I remember it so good because he is so desperate about his army. Not only it's all about him, the girl who is madly in love with him also adds a good characterization to the story. Despite the fact that they were not able to afford any of the army fees, Mukund struggled really hard to get the scholarship and finally he placed his foot in the army college. Moreover, he also excelled in everything like shooting, reading and learning everything in detail. Here, the important fact is that, as I mentioned, this girl is in deeply love with him, encouraged him in each and every point no matter what. On one hand, he kept his family very close to him and maintained his relationship with this girl. On the other hand, he followed his passion and he really struggled so hard to do his work. Whenever I think about a story, the first story that comes to my mind is the story of tortoise and a rabbit, which I heard when I was a first-standard student, and the day that I was in there, that was my first day in my school, so that I still remember the day. The teacher's name was Lizzie, so she told the story about the famous tortoise and rabbit running race story. I still remember it because it was from my childhood memory, and the story that I was hearing for the first time, so I heard it for like a curious child. The story was about a race between a tortoise and rabbit, and as we know that tortoise is a slow runner, and a rabbit is a very fast runner, but at the end, the tortoise won the game. The moral of the story was, there is no comparison between each person, but still if we believe in ourselves, we can achieve anything in our lives. So that I do remember the story, I found it very interesting, and I really like it.
