When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I think an outdoor sport would definitely be badminton because that is something that I have learned as a child and have diligently practiced learning skills and shots of badminton. For example, children in my society had tournaments and all sorts of practice sessions right from 5 am in the morning even during rainy seasons. During rainy seasons, we would just dodge and play and do our fitness regimes inside the lobby. I think that is something that we would like to do and it is very simple to start prepping for it because as long as you have the hold in your badminton racket, it is pretty simple. You can learn it in your homes or apartments or wherever. One more thing I would like to add is that it is something that you need to have the grit and determination. Nowadays in YouTube, everything is available and it is very easy for us to access it and learn about any of the sports that we would want to do. Setting up is very simple. You would want to have a net. In those days, we did not have nets because of our societal rules but we would assume a wall to be our net and we would just practice. At that time, it was a big thing to learn those shots and then as kids go and showcase it in front of your friends, family and college. Unfortunately, we did not have that much of exposure to sports where it was thought that it was a taboo to do it.

The favorite outdoor sport of mine is hiking, especially it started when during the COVID period when everything was off. I used to wake up early around 6-7 and I used to go for the long hikes. There is a beautiful small hiking mountain near my home. It's three kilometers away from my home. So I go there and I just start by like 7 am and reach there by 8 am and then I sit there for a while because there is a small beautiful temple over there located between the Himalayas where I sit and enjoy the serene environment and then I take a small walk around that mountain. There is a small village there and it is beautiful sitting area over there where we can sit and enjoy the beautiful valley down there. We can see all the homes and houses over there and it's a beautiful place out there and especially during the morning hours when everybody is asleep and just waking the chirping and the beautiful snow filled mountains can be seen from there and it's very, very, very, very peaceful to sit there and then after sitting for like half an hour, I just move back to my home. So it again takes around like 45-50 minutes to travel back. So yes, I think the best outdoor activity for me is to hike. Thank you.

To be honest, I am not a sports person, but my father always wanted me to be a badminton player. Because of his influence, I started playing badminton in my early childhood, but I would say I was not very passionate about the same, but that is something that I am having my childhood memories associated with. I would like to play badminton with my friend in my society as there are certain slots available where we can book and play badminton. It will help me relish my childhood memories and it would make me feel that I am doing something from my past that I am feeling more exciting and relaxing while doing it. It is something that I often followed on television where I enjoyed seeing people playing this game where it is one of the medium where you can connect with your partner or friend whom you are playing with. Badminton with is definitely in my bucket list to play badminton with my partner.

I would like to talk about cricket which is so popular in my country and outdoor sport. I have played cricket many times since I play cricket in childhood. We usually play it on open ground near my house or sometimes I play even in the street. I often play with my friends during evening or on weekends. Cricket is played between two teams. One team bats and the other team rolls balls and fills. We use a bat, a ball and wickets. It is a fun and exciting game that needs both skills and teamwork. I enjoy this sport a lot because it helps me stay active and fit. Also I love spending time with my friends and cricket brings us together. I also like watching professional matches and learning from the players. One player is a very nice player. His name is Obi Rai.

An outdoor sport I would like to do is swimming. I already learned to swim a few years back and it was very exciting and very nice to do the sport. But recent years I have not gone for swimming and I have forgotten how to swim. So I would like to learn it again and go back to swimming and have a good experience of being in the water. And I think it would take around 2-3 months to actually learn to swim for the beginners and after that we can practice on our own also or we can also extend the swimming classes to learn diving and other activities related to swimming as well. But I think the basic swimming itself is enough for people like me because swimming is not only a sport, it is also a very good exercise. It gives a lot of energy and it is very good for the entire body and fitness and also it can help you in shedding off some weight as well. So I think swimming is the best exercise for the mind and the body because once you are inside the water, the entire body is concentrating just on the one act to swim and it is very useful also to improve your memory power, concentration and it is a very good exercise in terms of losing weight or in terms of staying fit. It is a very good exercise to practice on your own as well. You don't need people to be with you. You can go on your own and try it out.

An outdoor sport that I would like to do is skydiving. It is because I think skydiving is fascinating and I find it very interesting. I came across this sport when I started watching English movies, that is of US and UK. If I get a chance to try it, I would definitely try it in the abroad countries, because I think they have fantastic facilities for it. I don't think it would be easy for people who are going to do it for the first time, people like me, because since you fall from a very tall height, it would be very hurting for you, it would really hurt you, it would make you fear.

    Band 6-7

Okay, if an outdoor sport I would like to do is playing tennis, I think I chose tennis because from my childhood I have been in and out of the tennis but I have never really properly learnt it and haven't been very regular and if I have to determine how easy it would be to learn this sport, I guess it would be easy for me at least because as I have said I have been in and out of the tennis and as for a regular person to learn tennis, I think it would at least take 2 or 3 months to properly learn it and after learning it, it would be very easy and tennis is also a sport which is really very beneficial to our health and to your heart and as it is outdoor, we can also spend time, quality time outdoors. It can be played both outdoor and indoor.

The outdoor sport which I would like to do during my free time would be probably basketball. Growing up, my favourite rapper used to love playing basketball and he has always been a great inspiration for me to learn this sport. I can play basketball nearby my school areas and also I did try learning it once in my free time. It requires a lot of strength and energy to run across the court and in my opinion, I don't think so. It is as easy as it sounds but it is very interesting and also the sports require a good height which I unfortunately don't have but they always say height doesn't matter if in case you love the sport, even the rapper which I love is not of that great of a height but still he plays really well and is always a good sport about it.

    Band 6-7

While there are many sports which I would definitely like to do in the near future, but the sports which piques my interest the most is Volleyball. As since I was a child, I used to play Volleyball with my friends and when I graduated from my high school, I started playing Volleyball professionally. And it is a very good sport because I got to see different players' strength and efforts which they put in the sport and they perform very well and I was one of them because I just wanted to be the best among the team and I was a striker in my team and that role requires a lot of efforts and hard work and I was ready to do that. But when I got in my college, I started studying and I didn't got the enough time to focus on my sports and my sports skills got ruined. But I know if I try to work hard and try to put efforts again, I will definitely be able to play Volleyball very good again. So this is a sport, outdoor sport, I would like to do.

    Band 6-7

An outdoor sport that I would like to learn is probably trekking and camping. I would love to do it in India because India has an abundance of forest regions and a lot of hills and mountains. One of the places might be Himachal Pradesh or Uttarakhand with an abundance of trees and hills. It is not easy to learn trekking and camping because you know it's really difficult to master the art of not falling off the mountain while trekking and camping. You need to be aware of your surroundings, how you place your foot on the next cliff or how you prevent yourself from a snake bite. So yes, it is very difficult to learn camping and trekking but I would love to learn it in future and would like to master the art and go on a trek very soon.
