When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

The outdoor sport I have always wanted to take up is rock climbing. I was first introduced to the idea about 4 years ago when I watched the Oscar winning documentary Free Solo, which follows Alex Honland climbing EI Capital without ropes. Although I have absolutely no intention of attempting anything that extreme, the sheer beauty of moving gracefully across vertical rock, completely surrounded by nature, left a deep impression on me. Since then I have followed several professional climbers on social media and have been fascinated by the combination of physical strength, mental focus, and the stunning landscapes they access. To get started, one needs proper climbing shoes, a harness, a helmet, a chalk bag, and most importantly, a reliable belayer or climbing partner for safety. Beyond equipment, it demands good upper body and core strength, finger grip endurance, balance, and most crucially, the ability to stay calm and solve problems while hanging dozens of meters above the ground. The reason I am so drawn to rock climbing is threefold. First, it is one of the few sports that generally engages both the body and the mind at an intense level. Second, it takes place in some of the most breathtaking natural settings, cliffs by the sea, mountain crags, or forested boulders. Finally, there is an element of personal challenges. Overcoming fear of heights, pushing my own limit is in a controlled.

    Band 7

If I had a chance to try an outdoor sports, I would definitely choose rock climbing. It's an adventurous activity that involves scaling natural cliffs or artificial rock wall using ropes and harnesses. I first came across it when I watched a documentary about mountaineers conquering the Himalayas. Their determination and physical endurance truly fascinated me. Rock climbing requires a combination of strength, balance and mental focus. You need proper gear such as climbing shoes, a helmet, rope and a safety harness. More importantly, it demands strategic thinking because every move must be carefully planned to avoid slipping or losing grip. I heard that many climbers centre offer basic training for beginners which help build confidence before attempting outdoor climbs. What attracts me most is how challenging yet rewarding this sport seems. It's not only a test of physical stamina but also a way to overcome fear and build resilience. I believe that engaging in such an activity would improve both my fitness and my mindset. However, it allows people to connect with nature and experience breathtaking landscapes from a unique perspective. Overall, I'd love to take up rock climbing someday because it perfectly combines adventure, discipline and self-discovery making it an exhilarating outdoor sport to pursue.

I would like to go out for Malkhamb as an outdoor sport. Malkhamb is an Indian sport and it is an original sport discovered in India itself. There are many clubs all over in this city and I have went to many. Actually, I have learnt Malkhamb when I was young and when I was in school. Due to my career choices and the studies, I had to leave behind the Malkhamb career. But now that I am having some leisure time in my hands, I would like to go back to my Malkhamb. I definitely love this sport. It is basically doing gymnastics in air using a prop i.e. a rope or a wooden pole. It requires flexibility, strength, agility and speed at the same time. The set is of 1 minute 30 seconds and as you go on doing, you get judged based on different aspects. I have participated in many different competitions and I have won a few. I definitely miss this sport and I would definitely like to go back and start training myself and I would also love to train the younger generation in this specific sport. This unsung sport needs to go to the World Cup level.

I would like to play football on a big turf or a ground with my friends. So football is not really a very complicated sport as is, you have a ball and equal number of players on each side with one goalkeeper guarding each team's goal post. The goal is, the aim is to take the ball using team coordination and passing and shooting and score the goal on the opposite team's goal post. You primarily play with your feet and the goalkeepers can save their goal post using their hands and feet both. Each half is like 45 minutes of time and if both teams go unscored for both of these halves there might be some extra time to play as well. I like TIG for football as it improves my team spirit abilities and it fosters team spirit and builds relationships on the ground. It is given that you need to be agile and healthy to be good at football but it is everybody's game actually. You don't need a lot of resources to play football. You don't need a crowd to play football. You can just play in the streets with your friends, you just need a ball to play. It's a very accessible game and that's why I like it.

I would like to learn how to play cricket because when I was in school there was a chapter in our English textbook that girls can't play cricket and there was a discussion in the class that what do you think, girls would be able to play cricket or not. So I was very much convinced that when I get older I would try to learn how to play cricket. Moreover it is the favourite sport of India. Even though the national sport is hockey, people are more excited to know about cricket. I would like to try playing cricket at my nearby sports coaching institutes because if you learn under a trainer you would be able to check what are your mistakes instead of just playing with your friends. And I think it is not going to be very easy for me to play cricket because I am not even a fan of this sport or any sports. So there are many technical terms and many different activities that a person should know beforehand and if you are familiar with it and if you have interest in this game, you would have known that already. But I am not interested in any particular sport so it would be difficult to learn the theory part of that sport, the rules and regulations and also how to practice and play that game. So I think it is going to take around one month or two to be able to play this game.

The outdoor sport that I would like to pursue is hiking the Himalayas. I have done hiking for quite some years and I have been a professional hiker. I have climbed four 4,000 meters high peaks but one thing that's really close to my heart is hiking the Himalayas because of their significance in my religion as well as their significance for any mountaineer because the peaks in Nepal houses some of the world's highest peaks and one peak that I would like to hike is the trek to the Everest Base Camp. It's a 10-day high-intensity trek which requires a lot of physical endurance so it's not going to be easy at all but given my experience in hiking and my willingness to train for it and the rewarding experience of the views that this trek offers, the mesmerizing views, it's totally worth to sacrifice for this trek. Also the trek takes place through Kathmandu which would require me to travel from New Delhi to Kathmandu spending some time in the beautiful alpine having the beautiful alpine views of the Himalayas. Then it requires the world's most difficult flight which is from Kathmandu to Lukla which happens in a glider so this is something that is going to be an experience and it only happens in Nepal. After that it takes around eight days of trek where there is no proper housing, we have to live in tents and it requires the temperature is freezing cold and because of the altitude which is at around 15 to 16 thousand feet it becomes difficult for breathing but at the end of the trek when the trek gets over and you get to see the view of the Himalayas it is totally worth the effort it takes to get there so this this is one of the trek I would like to do.

A sport I would sincerely like to try out is tennis. I have always been a fan of tennis, watching great players like Nadal, Federer battle it out. But growing up in a small village, Yautmal, I never had the opportunity to play tennis. But now that I am in Pune, there are various opportunities for me to explore this sport. This sport will be difficult because it requires a high level of fitness and mental endurance. Moreover, I am not a regular sport person, so I will likely have to train myself and evolve myself to be good at tennis. But one day I envision playing this sport at its best.

One outdoor sport I would really love to try is surfing. I have always found it fascinating to watch people balancing on waves and enjoying the sea. It looks adventurous, challenging and at the same time refreshing. I would love to do the sports on a beach in Goa or Kerala because these places in India are quite famous for water activities and have good waves for beginners. The environment is also lively and full of energy which makes it even more exciting. I would prefer to go with my close friends because I think learning together would be more fun and motivating. Also having companies make the experience safer and more memorable. The main reason I would like to do surfing is that it is very different from the usual sports. I have played such as kicker or badminton etc. It pushes me out of my comfort zone, improves balance and fitness and gives me a stronger connection with nature. Moreover, I think it would give me a great sense of achievement once I am able to ride a wave successfully. So, surfing is the best outdoor sport I would love to try one day again.

    Band 7

I have had the opportunity to try out a lot of sports in my life, but there were some sports that I just couldn't play professionally because I wasn't skilled enough. One such outdoor sport is basketball, and I would definitely love to try it sometime. My mother was a basketball champion during her school and college times, and it really inspires me to play basketball. I love watching the NBA games, and it is fun to watch the players pass on the ball and have an intense and action-packed game. My school has a basketball ground, so I plan to learn basketball there. Moreover, there are a lot of community grounds being built in my area, hence I would be able to play basketball with ease. I have a great height as compared to average Indians, hence a lot of people have suggested me to play basketball as a joke obviously. However, I feel that I must take it seriously because it is not just playing the game, but enjoying the game would be a great experience. Basketball involves a lot of techniques including dribbling, running, passing the ball and putting it into the basket. It requires excellent aim and demands a lot of aerobics and cardiac activity, hence I feel that it would be slightly difficult to learn basketball, but I am sure that with the right guidance, I would be able to learn it easily. I have my mother and my school basketball coach to teach me basketball well. Apart from these resources, I obviously have the internet from which I can learn anything and everything. Hence, I feel that it would be a great experience.

One of the sports that I would like to play is cricket. In India, cricket is the most favorite sport that is followed by the public. So it was so obvious that I started liking the sport. I started following the sport when I was a kid. I remember the 2011 World Cup that happened in India only. I exactly remember the moment when Mahindra Singh Dhoni hit a six and because of that six, he finished the game and India won the match. It was a final between India and Sri Lanka. It was a very crucial moment at that time. The thing that this sport really teaches me is discipline. I have seen Virat Kohli debuting in cricket and he has transformed his journey through fitness and discipline. He has sacrificed his favourite food which we have heard like chole bhature and chicken. So the thing I really admire from cricket is sacrificing and discipline is the key to achieve almost anything in life.
