When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I am a nursing student. I have my clinical duties after my classes, so I don't get much time or get much free time. However, I've made this little habit of mine to listen to music in whatever free time I get. Music has always been a little peaceful sanctuary for me. I feel very connected with music, so I tend to listen to music at least once a day. Listening to my favorite artists has always helped me calm down, keep aside all my problems and relax. My music preferences mostly constitute a range of artists. The most genres that I listen to most, I would say, are pop and R&B. I really adore R&B, so most of my favorite artists are R&B artists like Rihanna, Chris Brown, Weekend. Aside from this, I also listen to classical music. I am a South Indian, so classical music is a part of my cultural identity. Listening to classical music has always been a very enriching experience for me. It not only helps me connect with my culture, but also I found that it has helped me think better. I feel like it stimulates my brain in a way. Aside from that, I listen to music whenever I get free time. As I said, it could be anywhere.

It's a passion, it's my first love and you know how people say, never forget your first love. Well, guitar is... Phew! An activity that I do after school is play the guitar. I am extremely fond of playing the guitar and especially anything that's related to music. Because I've always felt that my heart and my mind has a special connection to the rhythm of the music. The harmony that it produces is something that always soothes me and calms me down even after a very stressful, hectic day at school. It's not just a hobby for me, it's also a stress buster and a coping mechanism. Whenever I've had a bad day or I'm just very angry at something, my mind and my heart always revert to playing the guitar because it's the most peaceful thing for me. Furthermore, playing the guitar is not just a hobby for me, it's a passion, it's my first love. And you know how people say, never forget your first love. Well, I'm never going to forget playing the guitar. In fact, even when I'm going to go off to college, it's something that I'm going to take with me. Because it's not just taught me to be a good guitarist, but also taught me how to achieve patience and dedication in something you really love. It has taught me determination and the fighting spirit that even if you fail, you fail to get back up. And this activity after school is the most mesmerizing activity for me.

My favorite hobby or something I love very much to do is roller skating. I am practicing it from my second grade. That's about 10 to 15 years as I am 22 now. I am practicing it from second standard and I have attended lots of competitions and achieved lots of medals. I have gone for nationals. It makes me feel very peaceful when I do skating. I don't bother about the things around me. That makes me pressurized or something. I love doing skating because something from inside me feels happy while doing this. And also motivates me in many ways. I usually go for classes for doing skating. I got lots of friends there.

I am a very big fan of online video games and when I was in my 10th grade, my parents bought a new smartphone for me as the gift of the 10th grade result because I got an outstanding marks and I started playing games since then. I figured out one online game called Free Fire. It's a battleground game where you have to make a squad and kill other players with guns, grenades and other items and I used to play it when I come back to my home. Also if I am somewhere and I have to wait for a too long time, so I usually start the game and play it with my online friends and the game also gave me a lot of chance of making friends at the destinations where I do not have the connections, where I cannot build up connections normally like I had a friend from Gujarat where I do not have any friend or relative and I got the benefit of it when I visited the Gujarat and he helped me exploring new places and foods.

One activity I enjoy doing after work is going for an evening walk in the park near my apartment. I usually finish work around 7pm and after taking a short break at home, I go to the park by 7.30. I do this almost every day, especially during weekdays, because it helps me relax after a long and tiring day. The park is not very big, but it's green, peaceful, and has a walking track. Sometimes I go alone and listen to music or a podcast. But on most days, I go with my flatmate or a colleague who lives nearby. We walk together, talk about our day, and sometimes grab a tea from a nearby stall afterward. This activity has become an important part of my routine. It not only helps me to stay physically active, but also gives me mental peace. After spending the whole day working on a screen, walking in fresh air feels refreshing. It clears my mind and improves my mood. Overall, I feel it's a very healthy and calming habit, and I look forward to it every evening.

An activity that I love doing after my work, be it school, be it office, is obviously learning things. My love for learning things is what I describe as being Kaizen. I love learning new languages, I love learning new topics, even out of my interest and out of my comfort zone. Right from psychology, to money, to wealth, to wellness, to meditation and everything. Mostly, whenever I am learning languages, I use Duolingo for that purpose. Currently, I am learning French and I am at level 25. Besides, I am also at level 20 as a parallel course on Duolingo and I reached level 20 there. I am also learning Chinese and I am at level 5. I am a beginner at Chinese although. Moreover, whenever I am in search of new topics or new documentaries, I always go to documentaries and Encyclopedias. I love learning and my love for learning is not limited to a space or a confined space. I love learning about anything and everything. Anything that excites me is everything that I read. Thank you.

So, an activity that I do after work would be dancing. I dance whenever I have leisure time and I dance at home alone because it is a time of me to have for myself. It is me time and it is a process of self-realization of my inner thoughts and a conversation that I could have with myself and additionally dancing makes me feel energetic, it makes me feel creative, it makes me positive in a number of ways plus there are so many styles of dancing that one can try and dancing is just a way to express yourself, not to impress someone. Usually, people when they do something creative, they look out for people's opinions and they look out for people understanding their work but dancing is not at all about that, it is all about expressing yourself, enjoying what you are doing and dancing is something that you can do without even learning, dancing even child dances when he is born and even old person dances, so it is just a way of enjoying what you do instead of.

One heavily thing I enjoy doing is fabric painting which is a type of crafting. I usually do it at home, especially in my room. I have a small space with paints, brushes and some old clothes or fabrics where I try different designs. Sometimes I do it with my close friends and sometimes with my sister but mostly I do it alone because I feel more peaceful that way. I paint on t-shirts, bags and pillowcases. I like trying new patterns, flowers or even cartoons sometimes. It is really fun and also helps me feel relaxed after a tiring day. I think this is healthy or something I really love to do because it keeps my mind active and takes away stress. When I focus on painting, I forget about other worries. It helps me improve my patience and concentration. Also doing something creative like this is good for mental health because it makes me happy and proud of my work. Moreover, when I give my painted items to my family or friends, they feel really special and it makes me even more happier. So for me, crafting and painting are not just hobbies but they are also a way to stay mentally fresh and relaxed.
