When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Well, the rule that is important in my school or at work is, I need to be disciplined and punctual. This is the most important rule that must be followed. If it is not followed, I consider that individual is unfit to do that work and as well as lead a better life. Then coming to the importance of this rule, one should have a proper structured routine to follow in their daily life. If they do not follow, then the work whatever they do will not accomplish them what they need. So, to build a rapport between the work as well as the other things to do in life, one should be very much disciplined and punctual towards its work and a rule, this must be followed by each and every individual in life so that they can achieve and fulfill their goals in life. This rule is not just about the following part aspect, it is about the dignity what you have in yourself and to prove that what character you portray, the discipline you have in yourself will fetch you the better personality in this upcoming world.

One of the important rules that is very important in my place of work is if you are stuck somewhere, reach out to someone. Does not matter if the person is above your working pay grade or below your working pay grade, but just look out for help. I currently work in IID. It's an international institute for digital marketing. It's located in Andheri, so nearby. Moreover, the rule which I talked about is not a hard press rule. It's more of a directive policy as in it is recommended for people to go ahead and believe in it and practice it. It is very important because it gives people something to believe in. It creates a sense of camaraderie and it makes people believe that if they are stuck, there are people who are looking out for them and they can always reach out and ask for help. Moreover, in this fast-paced world, we usually feel lonely. So creating a sense of togetherness in the workplace, I believe, creates a sense of just being there for someone, which is very important. And how I feel about it, I am very glad about this rule. Initially, I wasn't so sure about my workplace. However, the support that I have received from everyone, including my interns, as well as my manager, as well as my super boss, as in the CEO of the company, makes me feel less alone. It makes me realize, moreover, that I can depend on anyone.

So one rule that was important at my school was arriving at least 20 minutes prior to an examination. It's not just about the final semester examination, it's also about the weekly tests which happen in our school. So this is really important. So now that we have become adults, when we attend any meetings or any other programs, we know we can be caught up in traffic or there might be any other reasons which can intervene our schedule. So making sure that you're early and you're on time is really important.

    Band 6-7

As per my point of view, as from my point of view, the main important rule in this school was timing. Because if the person is not punctual, how can he study well? In my school as well as my workplace, the timing is the most important aspect of the rule. Another rule in school and work is the attendance. People have to have at least 75% of attendance in their total academic year. Otherwise, they will not get promoted. In many cases, due to attendance, they get demoted too, like in school.

    Band 6-7

One of the most important rule at my school is punctuality. It's very important to honor the timelines that you commit to be it submission of various assignments or being on time for school or any activity for that matter. I think it's very important to get habituated to this rule because it creates a good discipline that helps you in the future aspects of your life be it work, be it relationships or anything for that matter. Yeah, that's it. That's about it.

    Band 6-7

During my high school, there were so many rules, but one rule that I remember was shoes. People should wear black shoes Monday to Friday and on Saturday they have to wear white shoes. If they interchange their shoes in those weeks, they'll be fined and sometimes they were taken to the principal's office. I had broke this rule once. I don't know why I did that. Maybe I forgot to wear my shoes or maybe forgot to wear the week of the month. But somehow I was escaped. The rule was important because people have to follow orders and they should keep that in mind. If they break them, they must be fined or...

Okay, so the rule which we have at our workplace is if someone comes late 3 times in a week, so he had to buy a coffee for everyone in the office, basically we are a team of 12 people. So, if someone comes late for the first time, he gets a warning and you know, he gets notified as if he keeps on doing it for 3 times, he needs to buy a coffee for everyone and I feel this is very important as it can take someone financially out, so it can kind of toll on them and also it gives a sense of responsibility for the people who are coming late that they should be at work and they should be punctual. Like I would say about this rule, this rule is very interesting as it gives us a chance to talk with our teammates more like other than work, not only about the work, it can be a casual talk and I feel it is very important for workplace to have the punctuality and this helps to keep it punctual.

    Band 6-7

So more than a rule, I would say it's about the morality that I'm more concerned about. So it's not something that people have to enforce or even rather tell you to do. It's something that has to come from within. What happens when people do not follow rules or when they find a workaround around it is that it might affect other people's lives. It might also bring down the reputation of the firm or the institution that you're working for or you're studying in and it will affect the lives of other people. And why I think it's important is that as individuals, we all have certain levels of duties and responsibilities that we should abide to and breaking of which could bring disruption to the whole ecosystem that we have there as well as difficulty to other people around us. And these kind of rules, like what I generally feel about it is that it should be maintained by people, it should be followed and it should be something that comes from within and as individuals, we should feel the necessity to do things for others without hurting others and follow a passion without intruding into the boundaries of others.

The most important rule at my school and also at the workplace is trying to communicate in English. We have been advised and taught that speaking in English is far more better and an easier way to communicate with others. During my school days, if we are ever caught talking in any other language other than English, we used to be issued a black card, which means we have violated the school's rules. Also I consider that talking in English is very important because communication gives us a power and command over the language. The more you communicate in the language, the more efficiency we get on it. In my workplace, we are being taught to speak in English as well, because being working in the banking domain, we have different types of customers from different parts of the country. Some people might not be knowing our regional language and we bankers might not be able to communicate in their mother tongue. So speaking in English makes it more easier and accessible. In that case, we can know the reason for their visit and we can act accordingly. We can fulfill the purpose and the needs of the customers. I personally like to speak in English because India being one of the largest speakers of English in the whole world, we provide a better interface to not only Indians or commoners but also to the foreigners. It makes the communication more accessible and fun.

Well, I would say it's the school uniform system or the workplace uniform system. They brings a feeling of diversity and also unity among the people. It would be designed in a way that is suitable for the workplace or the school nature when everybody is wearing a uniformed cloth. No one is seen different, everybody is seen equally. In school, usually children are brought up in this way so that no one looks at their peers in a different view. Everybody looks at each other just like a normal other student whom they'll get along. And also in workplace, I feel it's mandatory to be in uniform. In a hospital, everybody wears scrubs. They will not be wearing some fancy clothes which is very important so that the, in a hospital, be it the patient, they would not look at you or judge you by your dress because people tend to judge another person with their looks. But when everybody is in uniform, nobody can really judge anyone. You just look at you as a profession who just works there. And also when people will be not of the same economical status. So when one can wear a cloth of be it a high luxury brand and someone else can wear a cloth that is of maybe a thrift store cloth, it should not bring difference among the people. No one should be felt differently. So uniform system would bring an equal, same point of view among the people working at a place. So it would be a very good thing that is brought up in school and also to be continued.
