When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Okay, so the rule which we have at our workplace is if someone comes late 3 times in a week, so he had to buy a coffee for everyone in the office, basically we are a team of 12 people. So, if someone comes late for the first time, he gets a warning and you know, he gets notified as if he keeps on doing it for 3 times, he needs to buy a coffee for everyone and I feel this is very important as it can take someone financially out, so it can kind of toll on them and also it gives a sense of responsibility for the people who are coming late that they should be at work and they should be punctual. Like I would say about this rule, this rule is very interesting as it gives us a chance to talk with our teammates more like other than work, not only about the work, it can be a casual talk and I feel it is very important for workplace to have the punctuality and this helps to keep it punctual.

So more than a rule, I would say it's about the morality that I'm more concerned about. So it's not something that people have to enforce or even rather tell you to do. It's something that has to come from within. What happens when people do not follow rules or when they find a workaround around it is that it might affect other people's lives. It might also bring down the reputation of the firm or the institution that you're working for or you're studying in and it will affect the lives of other people. And why I think it's important is that as individuals, we all have certain levels of duties and responsibilities that we should abide to and breaking of which could bring disruption to the whole ecosystem that we have there as well as difficulty to other people around us. And these kind of rules, like what I generally feel about it is that it should be maintained by people, it should be followed and it should be something that comes from within and as individuals, we should feel the necessity to do things for others without hurting others and follow a passion without intruding into the boundaries of others.

The most important rule at my school and also at the workplace is trying to communicate in English. We have been advised and taught that speaking in English is far more better and an easier way to communicate with others. During my school days, if we are ever caught talking in any other language other than English, we used to be issued a black card, which means we have violated the school's rules. Also I consider that talking in English is very important because communication gives us a power and command over the language. The more you communicate in the language, the more efficiency we get on it. In my workplace, we are being taught to speak in English as well, because being working in the banking domain, we have different types of customers from different parts of the country. Some people might not be knowing our regional language and we bankers might not be able to communicate in their mother tongue. So speaking in English makes it more easier and accessible. In that case, we can know the reason for their visit and we can act accordingly. We can fulfill the purpose and the needs of the customers. I personally like to speak in English because India being one of the largest speakers of English in the whole world, we provide a better interface to not only Indians or commoners but also to the foreigners. It makes the communication more accessible and fun.

Well, I would say it's the school uniform system or the workplace uniform system. They brings a feeling of diversity and also unity among the people. It would be designed in a way that is suitable for the workplace or the school nature when everybody is wearing a uniformed cloth. No one is seen different, everybody is seen equally. In school, usually children are brought up in this way so that no one looks at their peers in a different view. Everybody looks at each other just like a normal other student whom they'll get along. And also in workplace, I feel it's mandatory to be in uniform. In a hospital, everybody wears scrubs. They will not be wearing some fancy clothes which is very important so that the, in a hospital, be it the patient, they would not look at you or judge you by your dress because people tend to judge another person with their looks. But when everybody is in uniform, nobody can really judge anyone. You just look at you as a profession who just works there. And also when people will be not of the same economical status. So when one can wear a cloth of be it a high luxury brand and someone else can wear a cloth that is of maybe a thrift store cloth, it should not bring difference among the people. No one should be felt differently. So uniform system would bring an equal, same point of view among the people working at a place. So it would be a very good thing that is brought up in school and also to be continued.

So, I think the most important rule in my work is time, because as a doctor, I know human life matter, so skipping any time medications or skipping any time to share view of a person or ignoring someone at a time of need can end up in something which is irreversible, you can't get the things back. So, I think the most important rule is to give value to your time, time is most precious. So, why do I think it's most important and what does it affects, that's the matter of time, because whenever you lose each second or day or an hour or week or month, you are wasting, that's good, you can take rest, no problem, but you are counting the days towards your last day of your life, at last you will stand at zero, with zero achievements, zero satisfaction of living a life. So, I'll prefer or I'll comment or I'll advise someone, whoever ask me, which is the most important rule, just give a greatest value to your time and respect your time, so make it useful, do something which really values.

In my school, the rule we used to have is that every student should talk in English language. The students are allowed to communicate each other not in their mother tongue and by using English language. If anybody breaks the rule, that particular student is allowed to speak publicly about any random topic and in my opinion, this rule is good to improve the communication skills of students. And the punishment method, it acts as a reinforcement method rather than having a negative impact. It helps the student to talk about they are getting a chance for public speaking and thereby avoiding their stage fear and they will get a chance to improve their language speaking ability. English is a language which most of the people, more than 80% of the people all along the world are using it. So, learning English is a good practice.

One rule I wish, the rule that is important in my work or school is finishing the work on time. I feel like if I break the rule I become inconsistent and it is very important for me to be responsible on the work which is given to me. I feel like there will usually be some timelines in both schools and in my workplace to complete the work. I will try to make sure to complete it within the given time period. Sometimes if I face any difficulties or issues I may not be able to complete the work on time. During that time I will try to explain it to my manager or my lead that the reason why it got delayed. I will make them agree on the fact that it is something which cannot be completed within the given time. I will ask them for extra time and I will try to complete it within the extra time provided to me. When I was in college I did a project on hay. The deadline given to me was to complete the project within 3 months. We made proper planning and we got it done within 1 and half to 2 months. I think if we have proper plan we could complete the work on time. I feel it is very important for me to follow even in the future. I will make sure to achieve the tasks which come to my bin.

I work in a healthcare company that provides physiotherapy to people who need exercises. One of the most important rules that the company laid out before hiring me was to not use mobile phones while at work. Using mobile phones could lead to less productivity and which in turn will lead to less turnover. This rule is very important because if we use mobile devices during the hours of our work, this could distract us from the original work that we do. When a patient comes in to take therapeutic exercises and if the employee is distracted by using mobile phone, the patient will feel awkward and the same patient may not return to our company for the service. So it is very important to follow this rule especially when we work in healthcare. Personally, I do not like this rule very much. This is because I love using my mobile phone during my work hours. I know this is not ethical but in this modern day world, people are addicted to mobile phones and it is very hard to spend time away from them. Even though I do not like this rule, I will follow this rule in my workplace as this instruction given by my company is very important to make the workplace a better location for working in healthcare. I would also like to add that using mobile phones for a long period of time is not good. So this rule is really good in situations like these.

Back then, when I was in school, there was a rule that every student in school should speak in English. This rule was followed till my 8th standard. So it is must and should for everyone to do that, to follow that rule. Most of the kids used to take that as an advantage and just note down the people whom they hate, like their names, and give it to faculties. And if one breaks this rule, they have to pay fine and they have to undergo some punishment. It's a very short punishment, like we have to get how many local words we use, we need to do that many sit-ups, so that's the punishment. And apart from that, whenever a student breaks the rule, he or she should pay a fine amount of 5 rupees. So this was the rule. I personally feel this rule helped a lot of students to improve their English as kids. Though native language is important, I personally feel there should be a medium of connection from one between different variety of people, diverse people, and I personally feel English connects most of the people, as most of the people in the world speaks English. It is one of the highest speaking languages. So that was the thing.

Sorry, the rule I wanted to mention in school or work is time maintenance. Time maintenance is important in either school and at work as it is very much official. The work when we are not in the correct time in workplace it will be rescheduling the projects. The work will be delayed. The management will be punishing the employer and where they miss their punctuality and which is very indiscipline and it does not improve the growth of an employee. It should be a particular rule when an employee breaks the time and doesn't follow the rules he have to compensate the time or face the consequences or reduction of the salary. In school when it comes the time participation or time following the rule is very applicable for all the students. As a student it is well known maintaining discipline is a key point to become a good student in the classroom as well as the school. Time maintenance is the most important key point or thing to follow by a successful person. So when it is break by a student or work should be considered as a break.
