Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

The recent change that has benefited to my local area or my neighborhood is the gas pipeline. So in few days back, our area has been installed with the gas pipeline. Earlier, we didn't have gas pipeline installed and that's why we used to put gas in the kitchen. The gas was gas cylinder that we used to put in our kitchen and from there it was really not safe because the gas leak and the gas incidents have always happened. But due to the gas pipeline that has been added recently, it is really safe and it also reduces the bills that come monthly. It is more eco-friendly option and great for the environment. The process of installation of the gas included, first they covered area one by one, building by building and a large gas pipeline was installed from top to bottom of the building and each pipe reached the home with someone's gallery or kitchen window to their gas, to their stove and this is the way it was installed. There were many changes in our neighborhood but I think the most biggest change that benefited our neighborhood was the Kaveri Hospital. It is a big private hospital which was established recently. I think it helps all the people around this area to get access to better doctors and better facilities at a bigger hospital. Before this there was not much of access to a good hospital because we had to travel for more than 4-5 km and in case of emergencies it was very difficult to get or reach there on time. So I think this will help all the people surrounding this hospital to get easier access to facilities. Also I think there are many clinics around this hospital which are good but I think having a big hospital will help citizens in a lot better way. I can give you a real life example of when my mom was sick. My mom was really sick. She has an asthma. She had an asthma attack around July when it was a rainy season. That time it was difficult for us to get to a big hospital and this hospital was built recently so we couldn't go there and we got her treated. It was in the middle of the night at 12 pm around. I think that helped her a lot and that helped all of us a lot and I have heard many stories from all my neighbors and friends also who live in this area that they felt this hospital was such a great boon to them and such a great advantage that it is built here.

Follow up questions

How do you think the hospital has changed the community's health outcomes?
The hospital has significantly improved health outcomes by providing immediate access to medical care. Residents can now receive timely treatment for emergencies, which reduces the risk of complications. Additionally, regular health check-ups and preventive care are more accessible, leading to overall better health in the community.

What other facilities do you think are important for a neighborhood?
In addition to hospitals, I believe that having good schools, parks, and recreational centers is essential. These facilities promote education, physical health, and community bonding. Access to grocery stores and public transport also plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life in a neighborhood.

Have you noticed any changes in community interactions since the hospital opened?
Yes, since the hospital opened, I've noticed that neighbors are more likely to interact and share experiences related to health. People often discuss their visits to the hospital, share recommendations for doctors, and even organize health awareness programs, fostering a stronger sense of community.

Recently, I've observed that my neighborhood is much cleaner than usual, maybe because our community implemented a new rule which is not to litter on streets or not to put plastics on streets. We have recently been recycling our plastic waste which also benefits the environment making it eco-friendly. We have implemented using this plastic waste on making or creating really unique structures in our neighborhood areas. For example, in my neighborhood areas we have created a plastic human-like structure, which is located in the middle of the area which I have named as a man who clean, it was dedicated by a man who was cleaning our neighborhood areas when we were little kids and that's where our society got the idea of creating a plan of implementing this rule. This has benefited our neighborhood a lot and I can observe that my neighborhood has become much cleaner than how earlier it was.

I remember my parents telling me when they first came to the society that I'm living in currently, it was very underdeveloped. It resembled a forest kind of vibe because of its underdeveloped features like the roads were not developed and it was not a clean environment. The government especially did not give much importance to our society and hence the result. But as soon as the government changed, there were immediate changes that benefited my neighborhood. The first change that was initiated by the government was the road facilities. Our entire street was changed first by initiating a better road facility. They changed the entire road into a more cemented road by adding more granite and softening the surface so that all the vehicles were able to travel without encountering any bumps. In addition to it, they also added a lot of apartments, installed a lot of flats in our neighborhood before there used to be rarely any few of them. But now there's only apartments in our surrounding areas along with a lot of trees, which lets the people of our society know that they're safe. There are a lot of people to look for you, look after you, and you're always safe in our entertainment. Plus there's a lot of strict rules for cleanliness nowadays so that the environment is never stinky or nasty. It's always clean to walk at any point of time. And there's a lot of importance for cows and stray dogs also, which makes it more

It's been around 5 years and since we built our own home, there has been no facility of lights in our streets. In night, the streets used to be so dark which was so disadvantageous for every people around here. But later on, our municipalities fixed this issue. In the year of 2016, we started building our new house in a very local area and it's been 7 years since we built that house and there is no facility of light in our streets which was a very big disadvantage of our local area. This made everybody so anxious in the nights, even to travel. Then recently, our municipality implemented a new policy of making our streets brighter. They installed the new lamps on our streets which lit up our streets. Now the problem is resolved and the place where we live has become more good.

Band 6-7

A change that benefited my neighborhood is construction of a park. It is mainly to develop the neighborhood and the ambience of the apartment. Colony Association had their meeting last week and discussed about the various constructions we can do for our neighborhood and decided to vote on it. 70% of people chose park. I personally love this change because of the following reasons. Firstly, after the construction this is well maintained, very clean and the nature, atmosphere is really good. To add on, I really enjoy this park for a jog or a walk or even to listen a music. On one hand, this is really beneficial for children to play around. On the other hand, for the elderly, this is also like a refreshment. For example, sitting all day in the apartment feeling suffocated or stuck, for them evenings they used to come to the park, sit there, enjoy, try to speak with someone so that their mind relaxation will be really good. And it also helps for us to next day to focus on our work. To sum up, I really love this construction rather any other construction in my neighborhood. It be swimming pool or shuttle coach or any other things. I particularly and personally love this construction and it changed entire neighborhood in a positive note.
