When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So, the argument that two of my friends had was on the topic of which brand should we select for our dinner. Manish suggested the Domino's brand for eating pizza, while Suresh was of the opinion that we should opt for McDonald's. While both of them had their own personal opinions, everyone was very convinced with the idea that we should together eat burgers and go for McDonald's as it would be a better and a cheaper option. However, Manish was a little disappointed with this. But, nonetheless, he also had agreed sort of thing after a while when Suresh and everyone explained their perspectives because in general the burgers were cheaper and it would be beneficial for everyone to get there. Initially, Manish was very resilient to take up this idea but after a while he also was convinced and well, it ended very positively as we all had our burgers and also Manish and Suresh did explain their points and they sort of ended up in a positive note.

Last year, when I came for my internship in Hyderabad, I took a 3BHK flat with 4 of my friends. My roommate and my flatmate got into an argument. One fine day, Aishwarya was banging at the door as she did not have the keys and all of us were asleep in our bedrooms. It was a Saturday night so everybody had switched off their phone and we were not reachable. But she claimed that my roommate Swati was awake that day early in the morning because she witnessed her posting a story on Instagram which she has visited earlier. After one of us woke up and opened the door, she jumped on into Swati and started the fight with the argument that she deliberately did not open the door. Additionally, she also defended all of us saying with the reason that since it was Saturday and we were not obliged to wait for her and open the door. Although I tried to maintain a neutral perspective over there until I found out that the accusation she was claiming the Swati of was not correct so I had to take a stand for Swati. However, I was devastated by the argument. It complicated things between our friendship and we haven't been the same before.

An argument I observed between two close friends, Liam and Chole, is as follows. They had been planning for months to go to a much-anticipated concert, a band they both absolutely loved. The argument erupted just a few days before the show and it was all about the tickets. Chole had been in charge of buying them as Liam was out of town when they went on sale. She swore she had bought them and had even sent him a confirmation email. However, when Liam went to print them out, they were nowhere to be found in his inbox spam folder or anywhere else. He called Chole, quite agitated, asking her where they were. Chole was initially defensive, insisting she had sent them. I know I did Liam, checked your junk mail again, maybe you deleted it by accident? Chole said I have searched everywhere, you must have sent it to the wrong email address or maybe you just think you sent it. This tension escalated quickly, Chole felt accused and became exasperated, are you seriously blaming me? I went through all the trouble to get these tickets while you were off having fun. Ultimately, the argument cooled down as they realized shouting wasn't helping. They decided to call the ticketing company together. It turns out Chole had indeed sent the tickets but due to a small typo in the email address, it had gone to an inactive account. Thankfully, the ticketing company was able to re-send them to the correct address. The immediate relief was palpable but there was still a bit of awkwardness and residual frustration. They both apologized for their roles in the heated exchange. Liam for his accusatory tone and Chole for her initiative.

So we will discuss one of the argument two of my friends had in office and the argument was regarding who was a better cricket player between Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar. So Sachin Tendulkar has now retired but seeing the kind of kind of achievements he has done. You know he is known as one of the best cricketers across the world and now Virat Kohli is following his footsteps and breaking all his records. So you know they were comparing you know the different records and how Kohli is breaking them much before what Sachin Tendulkar did in respect of number of matches. And though I was listening to that conversation but you know after hearing both sides I think both of them are world class cricketers and Sachin Tendulkar was a little bit before when Virat Kohli joined cricket team and they were and are the best cricketers of their times.

So basically, if we are having an argument between two friends, like me and my other half, I would say, then we do have a lot. We have a lot of arguments on a lot of topics, not just one, but many. But the most interesting fact is that we resolve it. We do not let it get incomplete or any kind of misunderstanding between us. We tend to resolve it as soon as possible. And one of the arguments which I can remember as of now, as of today, I'd say, that we had an argument regarding how we can actually have an impact over to our jobs, which we are actually applying for. So she told me that it is okay to work for less, even if your salary is less. But I would like to prefer to go with more of the salary. If you are not satisfied with your job, then if there is nothing, you can do about it as well. Because there are a lot of people I have heard as of now, and I think this argument was very long, but we came to a conclusion as well. And the conclusion was that it is okay to work for less if you are working in the right path. I think that is a very good decision we have made and we have resolved that argument very satisfactorily. So I think that is for all. So this is just the one argument which I am discussing as of now. But I do think that we tend to resolve each and every problem, any kind of misunderstanding by just resolving it.

So the two friends who have been having an argument was my two close friends of my room named Dhanushram and Siddharth. They were really close to me and they are really interested in politics around our state and our country too. So one day they were sitting on a bench and started having a chat. On a random note they were into the topic of politics of Tamil Nadu and they were really talking good about certain topics. They came into the 2026 elections of Tamil Nadu. So they were really keen on and interested in politics as Dhanushram was arguing that the 2026 election will be won by our newly elected party called Tamil Nadu Vetri Kalagam. He was led by our beloved Vijay sir who was actually an actor. Siddharth was on the opposition side who was arguing on behalf of DMK party who was retaining the position of being the next election will be won by Tamil Nadu. So Dhanushram was also continuously arguing that he believes that Tamil Nadu Vetri Kalagam will be won.

Well, argument is a part of our life. We can have it anywhere with anyone. But today I would love to talk about an argument my two best friends had when I was in school. Well, it was about the political parties that my country have. Well, my one friend, his name is Ansoor Saini. He was in a favor of Congress, but the another one was in a favor of BGP. And I really loved that conversation a lot because I love having conversation about political parties. I am much into politics. So if I talk about that argument, it was really good because my friends has described each other about the things that parties have done for our countries and they have also described that which party should be elected next and which party can make our country, BGP best. And also that conversation really increased my knowledge because I do not, I did not know that much about that political parties so much.

    Band 6-7

Well, there has been a number of incidents where I came to witness an argument. But today, I am especially reminded of the recent argument that two of my best friends had on my birthday. And it was a very humorous argument, to be honest. And it was about that two of my friends, they were both fighting and quarreling to decide which one of them gets to bivoucate and which one of them gets to plan the surprise decorations. So, they were really tough on to that. And I was just staying in the corner and looking at them, admiring them, or just thinking about my decisions or my life decisions. And I am very particular about this that if I get to see someone quarreling, then they are definitely very close and intimate with me. So, admiring them is a very good way for me. And also, I believe that if someone quarrels over such small things, it definitely brings them closer instead of making them apart.

    Band 6-7

You know, that's an interesting question. Actually, I would say that the argument that often happens between Naveen and Vishnu regarding who is the best football player, that's Messi or Ronaldo. So, Naveen is with Messi and Vishnu is with Ronaldo. But what they happen to always do is, when they meet each other or when we all three meet and after having a drink or something like that, somehow the topic would switch to football, right? So, obviously, we will be talking about who is the best players and best teams we have seen or like we had already played in somewhere or something like that. So, what happens here is, naturally the topic would lead to Messi and Ronaldo. So, here Naveen always speaks a lot about Messi and Vishnu. He thinks he is the least position here. So, he will criticize him like anything else. So, one of the greatest criticisms he always gives is, Messi who took the last World Cup is actually a scam. That whole game was a scam. It was actually given to Messi. And Naveen shows that he won't sit idle. He will make rubbish comments about Ronaldo and Vishnu and so on. And to me, what I feel is, after seeing both of them quarrelling I make fun of both of them. Because I don't have a personal favourite. I like both of them. And I haven't actually fell into that trap where I have to be with Messi or Ronaldo. So, it's quite fun.
