When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I would really love to talk about this topic because I love cricket, I love watching cricket. I unfortunately don't play cricket but I have been watching it since I was a kid. I was around 11 years old when I first witnessed the adrenaline while watching this game on TV. It was the 2011 World Cup. I was witnessing a live broadcast at 11 in the night when Dhoni, a former captain of India, hit sixes and finished off the match beating Sri Lanka and thus lifting the World Cup. From there on, it's been a long journey with this sport. I feel alive, I feel happy, my mood instantly brightens up every time I watch this sport. Even if there are no live matches going on, I usually prefer watching highlights to brighten up my day. The most recent incident was on June 3rd when my most favourite franchise, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, won a trophy for the first time in the history of IPL after 18 long years of wait. My favourite player Virat Kohli, who was a former captain of RCB, had tears in his eyes and so did all of us. All the millions of people in Bangalore and all over India were awestruck and overwhelmed with joy. Every time I see Instagram Reels of that day, it just makes me feel abundant.

The sport I really like is Formula One. Many people do not consider F1 as a sport. It is a very underrated sport but I personally love it because it's just that it's unlike all the other sports. It is not, you know, you're involving physically fighting someone or you just, you know, facing someone. It is rather 20 drivers on a single track running, you know, their cars running for around 54 rounds. That is just crazy. I have loved F1 since I can remember I was probably six or seven years old when I first saw my first race. It was probably because of my older brothers. They are really into F1 and they got me into it as well. My favourite driver in F1 is Lewis Hamilton. He recently changed his team from Mercedes to Ferrari. I have always dreamed of, you know, going and seeing a race for real and I hope that actually comes soon and because of me watching F1 I used to go karting every month as I can. It's just amazing.

I am Rohan Choudhury and I live in Haridwar district of Uttarakhand. Cricket is not so popular in this state. I like cricket very much. It is my favorite hobby. When I was a child, I used to go alongside with my father and his friends. They used to play cricket and I used to watch them. Since then, cricket has become my passion. My favorite cricketer is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is known for his cool and collective nature. He is a right-hand batsman and a wicket-keeper. He captained India for 10 years and won three ICC trophies. He is a true inspiration to me to follow cricket. He is a good human being whether in or outside the ground. Although being so senior, he never argues or disrespects his younger players. He has been playing cricket since 20 years and there is no controversy in which he has been found guilty. I want to become a cricketer and play for India like Mahendra Singh Dhoni did. And I want to win matches for India. I am an all-rounder.

My mother used to take me to the swimming pool and used to force me to swim because as she had never got the opportunity to swim, so she wanted me to learn swimming because it's very beneficial for everybody and I used to feel very anxious but after some time I got used to it and I also learned various styles and techniques of swimming. I used to get gold medals in my schools and other regional championships and I was very good at it. In class 10, I also went for regional swimming competition and won third prize in 800 meters freestyle but after that lockdown came and COVID-19 hit our earth and so my swimming career ended over there. I tried to start it again in my bachelor's but due to pressure of my academics, I was unable to resume it.

Although I don't play sports that much, I'm not into it, instead of sports, I rather like to dance. I do have a keen interest in dance and I like the way my body moves while dancing. And it's something that was carried by me and I take it as a gift from my ancestors. It's a, you know, lineage. So that's why I worship it. But the topic is sports. So I'm going to say the sports that I like the most, although I do not play sports that much, the sports that I like the most is basketball. I was recently exposed or introduced to it in my 11th class. Right now I'm in 12th, when I changed my school. Yeah, I like it a lot because it's something that relates to me. Basketball is fun. It requires, you know, right, flexibility and strength. These are the qualities that I do have, both physically and also emotionally. I'm quite flexible and adaptable and also, you know, strength. These two are quite opposite of each other, but yes, part of the same, you know, different faces are same going. So I like this sport very much because it requires team effort. It requires a lot of, you know, calm and composure and it requires you to focus on your goal. It requires you to learn all the rules and play accordingly. You know, you can't break a particular rule.

A sport that I really admire is cricket. I have been watching it since my childhood. I get to know about cricket in the year 2015 and my favourite batsman is Virat Kohli because of him I got a lot of interest to play cricket. Many times I failed to play but I saw many interviews of him. He always says that dedication, determination and faith in God are the 3 factors that always push a person towards his goal. So from childhood onwards I had a dream to be a cricketer but because of financial issues I haven't pursued it. But if I got any opportunity now I would definitely be a cricketer. But now it is not possible. Moreover cricket feels like an emotional story. Even before the last ball we cannot predict who is the winner. It keeps the fighting spirit and it improves how to be calm in a critical situation. There are many factors that cricket has taught me.

The sport I really like is working out, whether it is outdoor or indoor in a gym. I started working out when I was preparing for my NEET exam and have been continuing it since. As a student, it's very difficult to have a healthy lifestyle because I don't have much time. So working out in the evenings makes me feel more active and more healthy. It also helps me to know what my body needs. Moreover, I also like working out alone as it helps me connect to myself. I go to a gym nearby which is very packed with the people or the students from my university. So it can be difficult sometimes to have some me-time. But it is one of my favorite parts of the day and I look forward to it a lot. It also makes me realize how much I need this time as it helps me to connect with myself and to think about me rather than thinking about what others would think. It also makes me feel accomplished when I get a PR or when I can hold more weight. So I like working out a lot.
