Tips to answer this Cue Card

1: Being Vague About Location

Candidates often give unclear or general answers about where their ideal home would be. This can make the response less engaging and informative.

Tip

Be specific about the location. Mention a city, country, or type of environment (like beach or mountains) to create a clearer picture.

2: Neglecting Size Details

Many candidates fail to describe the size of their ideal home, which can lead to a lack of depth in their answer. Size is an important aspect of a home.

Tip

Include specific dimensions or comparisons, such as 'a spacious three-bedroom house' or 'a cozy apartment with a large living room' to enhance your description.

Listing Without Explanation

Some candidates simply list features of their ideal home without explaining why these features are important to them. This can make the response feel flat.

Tip

For each feature you mention, explain why it matters to you. For example, say 'I want a garden because I love gardening and spending time outdoors.'

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I am going to describe my ideal home to live in. I want it to be between the mountain range and want no home near about and I want it to be big enough to accommodate facilities like gym, sauna, swimming pool, theater and I want it to be connected via a motorway to a nearby city so that it is easy to communicate and transport to the big city. It should have five rooms so that it can easily accommodate my family and it should have a big hall for conversation and a big dining table on which we can enjoy our meals together and a theater in which we can enjoy movies and a swimming pool will also be a cherry on cake for my ideal home.

Idle home for me would be a place where you have peace. I have seen one podcast where a famous personality of Maharashtrian actor has said like you don't need big house to you know Wow Idle home or place to live in would be my home itself because it consists of each and everything which I like and most importantly the thing which I need in my idle home would be peace and the people which I love so both of the things I have in my house doesn't matter how big or how small the house is what matters is the people with whom you are living with moreover I feel like money can buy happiness like everyone says that money can buy happiness for me it is like people with whom you are staying creates more value to you and more memories compared to money like you can buy anything any materialistic thing but there are certain things like emotions which you cannot buy so the idle home is the place where I am living right now and I have seen one podcast on which a beautiful line which a Maharashtrian actor has said that what is the idle home according to him is a place where you have grandmother who is teaching their granddaughter about various things about life, their stories and you have the grandfather sitting at the couch and having a sip of tea and father is going to his job and meanwhile the mother comes with the tiffing so this is the complete summary to it what he wanted to say is the people which are there in the house matters a lot rather than how big it is, how much money you have or where it is so for me

An ideal home for me would definitely be a vintage type of home. That home would be on the suburbs of Goa. Last time when I visited Goa, I had a place in mind. In future, if I had a chance to buy a home, I would definitely go to this place and buy this home and build it according to my taste. Although, I don't really need it to be a big house. It can be a cozy, small and convenient home. Firstly, it should definitely include a swing. Secondly, a garden. Thirdly, a cozy corner where I could really enjoy my coffee. Furthermore, in addition, I am these days really fond of pets. So, I will definitely include a pet which is a dog to live with me. Other than that, my home would definitely have a vintage vibe like a collection of things which has a real meaning in it. Not like a furniture which we will get from Ikea or some stores like that. Everything which I get into my home should have a deep meaning and it should be exquisite and unique to my taste. And, if I have to mention, an ideal home for me would definitely be a place where...

Band 6-7

Back in the days I had a fascination and if anybody would ask me where would you like to live when you were older I would definitely say it would be my parents' house. I mean what could be better than living in the place you've grown up in. Having your mother cook for you, your favorite delicacies, anytime you're craving some good food, having the television on, lying in your couch and happily enjoying the time with your parents. However as I grew older I realized that my parents home well wasn't quite a perfect fit for me. However if I had to describe my perfect home I would say it would be a modern architecture house with black aesthetics sitting in the alpine forest somewhere in Switzerland overlooking the mountains through the glass panes installed. I did not really realize where this interest came from but if I had to pick a pinpoint and say I would say movies have really influenced my idea of an ideal home. What better place to live at where you can wake up in the morning step out to your balcony and have a serene view of mountains that are covered with snow and birds chirping. It's just a feeling of tranquil that cannot be described in words. I could be anywhere in the world but I genuinely believe that Switzerland is a place that would be close to my heart. If I had to pick an alternative in the future I would say I would love to be in Spain because the place has a really good car culture and cars have always been close to my heart.

Band 6-7

I would prefer a big house rather than an apartment and it must be cover city area or almost in the city. My house must be contain 4 bedroom set and a spacious kitchen which have to be all amenities like all electronic gadgets for instance microwave, oven, air fryer as well as dishwasher. Other than this my house must be contain a big living room where I can watch TV with my family and friends with a cozy sofa on the cozy sofa and window must be made by the glasses and in the day time my apartment filled with the sunlight and sunlight also protect my home from negative energy. Other than this I prefer to have at least 2 bathroom and 2 toilets because it is very hard when people came your home for visit and visit and they are involved they do not find individual bathroom so it can be hard to handle so I think it would be a piece of cake for me if I get my ideal house.

Band 6-7

I would like to have a house in a countryside, just by the highway, near to a city centre, so that it has the benefits of living in a pollution-free atmosphere of a countryside, as well as a better commute to the city centre for my schooling, for my kids' schooling and for my office work. Secondly, I would like it to be a five-bedroom to seven-bedroom apartment, since I live with my father and mother, so it would be very comfortable for us to have independent bedrooms, and my kids can also have their kid rooms, so that we can decorate for them as per their liking. Lastly, I would like to have all the electronic gadgetries in my house, to live a comfortable life, and I would love to have an outdoor pool in my backyard, to have those summer parties with friends and family, and definitely an in-house heated jacuzzi for the chilly winters and to chill out during the daytime. So, to cut the story short, I would like to live in the countryside for the rest of my life, the reason just being to have fresh air and to give fresh air for me and my family, yet it must be on a highway for the easy commute to my daily errands.

Band 6-7

My ideal home place would be somewhere in the center of the city. It is because being a doctor I prefer to reach my clinic and other places in time. So I prefer that. Secondly, I prefer at least 2,500 square feet home. Because the spaciousness actually helps me deal with my clutteredness is what I strongly feel. I used to live in hostel before and I was given a very small space and a single card. And throughout the year I was always messy, I was always disorganized. Then I took a rented apartment with a reasonable single bedroom house and only I was living it. And I was never messy, I was always very organized and my home looks very neat and tidy. And I have a space to think. So I follow this rule of Japanese, the 5S rule of Japanese in cleaning. So the luxurious balconies, the spacious bedrooms, a different theater space with a very nice dining. At least an 8 seater.
