Tips to answer this Cue Card

1: Being Vague About Location

Candidates often give unclear or general answers about where their ideal home would be. This can make the response less engaging and informative.

Tip

Be specific about the location. Mention a city, country, or type of environment (like beach or mountains) to create a clearer picture.

2: Neglecting Size Details

Many candidates fail to describe the size of their ideal home, which can lead to a lack of depth in their answer. Size is an important aspect of a home.

Tip

Include specific dimensions or comparisons, such as 'a spacious three-bedroom house' or 'a cozy apartment with a large living room' to enhance your description.

Listing Without Explanation

Some candidates simply list features of their ideal home without explaining why these features are important to them. This can make the response feel flat.

Tip

For each feature you mention, explain why it matters to you. For example, say 'I want a garden because I love gardening and spending time outdoors.'

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Band 6-7

An ideal house for me would be a small house around a hill or a mountain region and my house would include all my favorite things that includes a library with all my favorite books and my house would include a small art gallery with all the paintings I adore and I would love to live in this house with my loved ones and with a pet which can be a dog or a cat and I chose a mountain region because I am a nature lover and I love to appreciate the beauty of nature and thus I think living in a mountain region would make me feel welcomed more than living in a city area or in a town area and it would be a minimalistically built house but with a cozy vibe and it would shout out peace whenever somebody comes in and I would love to create the safest and warmest place for my kids and my family in future and I think that it is very necessary to consider your home very seriously before building it because it plays a very crucial role in a person's life because that becomes the witness of your growth and your life and all your negative and positive situations that you go through.

Band 6-7

Since I have been asked to talk about an ideal home to live, I would say my home, which is located in Trishul, which is a three-storied house with a kitchen, a living area and three bedrooms. And we have a very good and big garden for plants and there's a lot of beautiful flowering plants inside that garden. And in my home, I like my bedroom very well because I arranged it very well with the interior designs and some hangings in the wall and my pictures from my childhood to my special occasions. There's a lot of pictures hanged on my wall.

Band 6-7

From the childhood, I have a dream to how to live in a home and basically that home should be located in the center of the western part and it should be surrounded with different kind of trees and moreover, I'd like to say that like home is where the heart is. So, I want the home should be as large as much possible because like if the home is larger than the people, accommodation can be much more than the normal mutual family. So, I believe that like we can construct a large building and we can give a shelter for the many people who are not having that. So, I want my home in a western part and it should be surrounded with the trees and I need to harvest more vegetables and fruits from my own garden from my back of my home. Later, I would say that it should have many rooms but not a big one. I need my center hall should be a huge area. It should be at least accommodate of like 30 to 50 members so that like every function and every celebration, my relatives and my neighbors can engage with me during those days and we can enjoy as much as possible. The ideal home, I believe that it should not only provide a sophisticated life for the people who live in the house. I believe it can provide the happiness to their owners.

Band 6-7

While considering an ideal home, the first priority that I would give is the area in which it should be built. For example, if it is a crowded area, then it would be most probably a less peaceful home and hence I feel the area actually matters. The next aspect is the planning of the home to allow enough light weight and ventilation to penetrate into the homes because it would be a pleasant feeling inside a well ventilated and lit house. Thirdly, I would say it would be the rooms that are less congested and a mini garden with flowering plants would make it an apt place to live. Adding to it, I would also suggest a pet, be it a cat, dog, a bird that would add value to the family. And last but not the least, I would also like to say that the relations that the family members have should be peaceful and prosperous as it is the pivot of an ideal home.

Band 6-7

My ideal home is where I currently live. I live in Saket in South Delhi in a 3BHK apartment. Back in the day, not so much so. I used to live in a 2BHK apartment and there was a space crunch and my mother and I always used to crib about how we have no space for our belongings and it was difficult for us to sustain in that surrounding. But now that we have moved to a bigger and more well ventilated apartment, it gives us the kind of freedom that we always wanted to have in terms of decorating our house and fulfilling our desires. The room decor and the living room decor has been imbued by our love for antique pieces. I love this house that I live in right now because it has a tranquil atmosphere. Moreover, it is a tree-lined street that separates us from the main bustling road and keeps our house insulated from the sound that comes from the traffic jams on the main road. The Gurdwara being in such a close vicinity makes me feel a sense of positivity all the time. I feel protected and under the guidance of the Almighty. My neighbourhood that I live in, moreover, is abundant with people who are like-minded and who tend to celebrate all the festivals together. Not just that, they also give a sense of belonging and love and all of us take care of each other in our good or bad times.

Band 6-7

As we know that people nowadays demand their own home in their own land. I would prefer the same that my home would be in any of the hill station where I can breathe the fresh air easily or it may feel comfortable and evergreen through different types of forest or the trees around. I don't like much bigger homes as compared to I like an average means not too much big not too much small means and intermediate home which will contain multiple functions just like a great infrastructure or and simple infrastructure in short we can say it as and it should contain multiple services or functionalities just like lifts or it should be convenient to everyone in my family means even the old ones can use it easily or they have their own space to drink tea or coffee in a space of gardens or even the children will like to play they should have a playground there multiple like a modular kitchen for my wife or the mom means those who will make food.

Band 6-7

Everything which required, the items will be in white.

Band 6-7

An ideal place to live I choose my hometown. I choose it because of some of few features of my own place such as here environment, weather and the neighborhood. First of all I can begin with from my environment. Here I live in a small village. It's covered by green luxury forest and the atmosphere and peace I obtain here cannot be given by any other places. From there we can go to the weather. Most of the times it's very cold here because it's in a high range places and also the neighborhood and people lives here. My neighborhood is very friendly to me and also the people mostly involved in agriculture activity. So there are not many modernization and the place is simple and peaceful. I always choose here because it gave me a mind full of peace and also it is very comfortable to live here because all the facilities such as hospitals, education institutions are available within my hand area and for this place I play a special role in my life because I was born in here and my grandfather to my father all are born in the same place and we have a small farming in this hometown because to look upon all that I should be in here. So I think that it's better option to live in my own place. What is better than getting a peaceful place to live in these states of developing environment. So I always choose my place and it's a right place because some of the people are just migrating to large cities to this small village to experience this atmosphere and also the weather environment at all. So I think it's a best place to live
