Tips to answer this Cue Card

1: Being Vague About Location

Candidates often give unclear or general answers about where their ideal home would be. This can make the response less engaging and informative.

Tip

Be specific about the location. Mention a city, country, or type of environment (like beach or mountains) to create a clearer picture.

2: Neglecting Size Details

Many candidates fail to describe the size of their ideal home, which can lead to a lack of depth in their answer. Size is an important aspect of a home.

Tip

Include specific dimensions or comparisons, such as 'a spacious three-bedroom house' or 'a cozy apartment with a large living room' to enhance your description.

Listing Without Explanation

Some candidates simply list features of their ideal home without explaining why these features are important to them. This can make the response feel flat.

Tip

For each feature you mention, explain why it matters to you. For example, say 'I want a garden because I love gardening and spending time outdoors.'

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My ideal home should be in a quiet place with a breeze of air because I like nature it should be near the coastal area probably in my village so that I can get some natural air away from the hassling city that I am currently living in. I want a bungalow which is twice the size that I am currently living in. The area of bungalow should be equally divided with a backyard and a garden for my niece. The ideal home for me is where people stay together in a joint family where my whole family stays together in a peaceful way and enjoy every movement of their life. As I mentioned I need a garden that is because I have two dogs so they can roam freely not only in the bungalow but also in the ground that we can have. So that's how I picture my dream home.

Band 6-7

Yeah, everyone had their own dreams and own perspectives of their life, what they want to do, what they want to do, where they want to live. Like this, I also have one perspective of my life, where I want to live. First of all, I want to live on the Himalayas, because I am the kind of person who is interested on, how can I say that, who is interested on nature. I am like a nature person, I want to be in nature, so I choose Himalayas, because it's a beautiful nature. And another thing, I recommend to be in cool weather, because it's very peaceful to live in cool weather rather than in very hot conditions. So I prefer to build my ideal home in the Himalayas. It could be, I want to build it like a big mansion, you know that I want to build it like a big mansion, means no contact, big mansion like no contact with anyone, like a very peaceful life, where we can't handle the phones, where we can't operate the phones, where we can't, means technology-less life. I like that kind of life, so I want to be in Himalayas, and I want to build a big mansion there. Yeah, it is very, yeah, it's something, it's very crazy, talking like that, but I want to live like that. Everyone has their own dreams right now, so I would like to build a big mansion in the Himalayas. Yeah, I have some particular things to include in my mansion, like separate swimming pool, workout area, like gym, and some meditation area, some temple room, like this. Like this I want to build. I want to build with two floors, including one big, including one medium.

Band 6-7

An ideal home for me would be located in a place outside of the city. It would be a small town. It would have the luxuries of a city but also had the disconnect of a town. It would be some place close to a beach or a mountain as I largely enjoy living in places that feel like a vacation. I enjoy kayaking in the evening post work and I enjoy going for treks or hikes on the weekends. The home would be next to a hill in a small town and wouldn't be too large but just the right size with a big garden.

Band 6-7

So, I want my ideal house in Germany. I love the weather of Germany and I love the landscape, the structure, the architecture of Germany. So, I want to build my ideal house in a total of 32,000 square feet area and I want a swimming pool, a big bathtub with a private zoo and a private jacuzzi in my mansion. I want that my mansion should be engraved by a lot of flowers, a lot of beautiful pets and a lot of wine. I want to add a lot of architecture from all around the world. I want that my house should have little little sculptures from all around the world and all famous sculptures like Mount Fiji, Great Wall of China, Taj Mahal in my house as an architect structure. Thank you.

Band 6-7

My ideal home would be an apartment exquisitely beautiful and amazing in Dubai. It should be three bedroom hall and kitchen. It would be aesthetically beautiful. It would be aesthetically beautiful apartment in which every detail is done nicely. Bravery is wonderful. Bedding and everything is very nice. This house should be charming, charismatic and livable. It should be airy, comfortable and cozy. I would appreciate a house that is aesthetically very appealing. It should be a place where my family can sit, relax, enjoy and have all the comforts of the world. It should have a kitchen in which we can cook and keep all the things nicely. A modular kitchen would be preferred. I feel a place where my family can enjoy, sit, relax, have all the comforts of life. That's the place which would be an ideal home for me.

Band 6-7

My ideal home would be a house next to the beach it would have modern windows and spacious living rooms. I personally like a small tiny room with cozy atmosphere with a beach view and it would be nice when I come with my family and friends to spend my vacation. The sunset near the beach is just amazing which I can view it from my room.

Band 6-7

When I think about my idle home or place to live, I don't imagine a very lavish and expansive house. Instead, I do imagine a house by a seaside which is quiet and is all to myself. I don't imagine it to be a big grand house with all the white furniture or the great windows. But I do imagine it with a very quiet atmosphere where there will be no slamming of doors, no explosive rage, but just quietness and so much love to give that people will understand and people will understand the vibe of that house and also the tranquility that comes from being in that house. I believe the serene atmosphere will inspire people to be their best version of themselves and do not, and there will not be a big grand house. It will be a small house with small, where everybody can live together under one roof without actually wanting something else. Regarding the location of the house, I don't believe that I would want it in between the vastness of the city. I would rather want it to be in a quiet place near the gardens or the trees or the wild forest. I would also expect my house to be a tree house or something. What would it include? Now the question of inclusion does arise a very stimulating answer. Firstly, the house would be full of trees and forest and good veggies. Also it would include a very furnished bedrooms and places and kitchens where everybody could live together and eat together under a serene atmosphere without expecting something else in return. I believe my house would be full of love and happiness and every time there would be a good amount of joy to give to each other.

Band 6-7

In my opinion, an idle home or a place to be, a place to live would be a place where we could live properly with our family and have a sufficient income. I would like my idle home to be in a place where it would be completely green and forest and have a good time all around and it would be sufficiently enough for us to have a good time with swimming pool, gym, working out, green forest, etc. I would prefer an idle home anywhere but an idle home. Thank you. According to me, we all have a dream of an idle home. And as per me, as idle home, I would live with less money.

Band 6-7

So, in terms of my ideal home, I am not someone who wants a big mansion or a multi-story house to live in. My ideal home would actually be a 2 or 3 bedroom house. Something that I always dreamed about was to have a house by the beach. I love to go to the beach and I love to play ocean sports such as using the jet ski. I have also tried surfing 2-3 different times when I am on holiday. So, I would love to have a house by the beach where it's easy access to these water sports. Another thing that I would like to have in my house is a pool. I am very interested in swimming but there are no pools near my current house. So, I usually swim maybe 2 or 3 times a month and if I had a pool, I would like to swim everyday and that would double as exercise and help keep me fit. Another thing that I would like to have in my house is maybe a backyard where I could play sports or I could once again exercise or I could invite friends over to have a party or a barbecue. Another thing that I would like in my house would be perhaps a gaming room with a large TV and all sorts of gaming and a Playstation and a shelf where I could keep all my games like a bookshelf and a library. Another important thing that I think my dream house would have would be that it would be centrally located. I love going to different, I love trying out different restaurants and going to different malls and shops and so I think if my house was centrally located near to maybe the high street or the shopping street, it would be easier for me to visit these establishments and it wouldn't be too inconvenient.

Band 6-7

My ideal home would be somewhere in a cold place. It should be not too large but at least 3 bedroom hall and kitchen. It should have, it might not have all the basic amenities but it should at least have my family with me all the time when I need them. It should also have a separate space for my pet animal. Also it should have a nice view of nature through my balcony. Also having a swimming pool would be a plus. It should have a quiet and decent neighborhood in which I can stay without having the stress about safety. My ideal home would be decorated with wooden floor, marble tiles and with a centralized AC through which natural sunlight could come at all the time of the day. In my ideal home, I would equip all the electrical devices with large solar panels so that it could save me, it could save electricity and it could be reliable to nature. Also I would use some sustainable measures to prevent the waste of energy.
