Tips to answer this Cue Card

1: Being Vague About Location

Candidates often give unclear or general answers about where their ideal home would be. This can make the response less engaging and informative.

Tip

Be specific about the location. Mention a city, country, or type of environment (like beach or mountains) to create a clearer picture.

2: Neglecting Size Details

Many candidates fail to describe the size of their ideal home, which can lead to a lack of depth in their answer. Size is an important aspect of a home.

Tip

Include specific dimensions or comparisons, such as 'a spacious three-bedroom house' or 'a cozy apartment with a large living room' to enhance your description.

Listing Without Explanation

Some candidates simply list features of their ideal home without explaining why these features are important to them. This can make the response feel flat.

Tip

For each feature you mention, explain why it matters to you. For example, say 'I want a garden because I love gardening and spending time outdoors.'

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My ideal home. Okay, so I would want my house to be in an area where every place is easily accessible. Let it be the mall, the hospital, a park, whatever it may be. I need it to be easily accessible. I need it to be in that particular area. I need my house to be, I don't want it to be too big or too small. I just want it right. And the most important thing in my home that I would consider wanted to be done perfectly is the kitchen. Because I love baking. So in regard to that, I need a beautiful kitchen with all sorts of equipment like the oven, the mixer and everything else that makes the kitchen a kitchen. And also the second most important thing that I would consider that I wanted to be done specifically to my need is the bathroom and the closet. Because I am a huge person when it comes to fashion. So I want a walk-in closet. So I need it to be exactly the way I imagined, exactly the way that I thought of it. And also the bathroom, it needs to have a bathtub and his and her vanity so that I can share it with my future husband or whoever it may be. I need it like that. So in conclusion, I don't need something really big or really fancy. Only these particular things that I am stressing on, like the kitchen, the bathroom and the walk-in closet, that just needs to be perfect. Other things I don't mind much, but these things I am sure of it.

I would like to build my house in a ventilated area. I would prefer building my house in city called Bangalore. My house would be about 50 feet tall building. The structure of my house will be a rectangular shaped building about 1200 square feet of width. So I would be living with my family of six. I would prefer having three different rooms which is located in my house. The design of my house would be a rectangular space in my car parking lot and at the top I would construct a square bathroom. The bathroom of my house will have a tub facility which is really good. Then I will have a kitchen with blue tiles because that would be brighter for my kitchen. Later on I would construct using cement because cement is a very solid substance which would be ideal for any kind of weather. During winter cement houses can be much stronger than any other material which I will be using. In conclusion my house will be located in Bangalore.

So, an idle home, an idle home according to me, I dream of an independent big bungalow. It should be a two-storied bungalow and having all the facilities which I have dreamt of. Like for example, I want all the modern facilities including the modern modular kitchens with all modern equipments and I usually like baking, so I want a small area or a section categorized for only my baking and storing all my baking raw materials and equipments because I always feel shortage of space for my personal hobby, so I need some area to be specially designed for my hobby that is baking and I am very much interested in gardening. I want a garden space in my front yard and my backyard to grow a beautiful plants, flowers like roses, lilies, fragrance, fragrance flowers and with beautiful colors. I even like to grow vegetables so that they will be natural with no chemicals so that it gives me

Band 6-7

My ideal home would be, as I consider it, and the world considers it, as the most happiest country, and it would be a cozy home, a small cozy home, not too big, not too small, but really warm. And I'd love my ideal home to have a huge library, as I am fond of books. My library would be the attic area, and as I am a foodie, a food lover, I'd love to have several canteen areas in my kitchen. I'd love to have only a few rooms, but really cozy, and I'd love soft pillows, cushions, sofas. My house would have a really nice garden with very nice olive trees, a swing, and a cozy bubble to have a relaxation time. I'd love my home to be as warm as possible, because not only for me, at all, me and my best friend dreamt of having a really cozy home in Finland.

Band 6-7

If I get the chance to live in my dream home, that would be all around snow. I personally love snow so much. So I would think of a house which is in the middle of the snowy area and during the time of snowfall, I want all the area around my house and my house to be covered with snow so that I can play with it all day long. I want my house to be of seven rooms, particularly divided for each activity of mine, which I love to do on a daily basis. For example, one for music, one for dancing, one for painting. One should be of my academic work. And I want to live with my parents and the entire family. So I want them to have a very comfortable life in that house. Also I want one bonfire so that we can have a quality time together with family members sitting around the bonfire and having great talks. Furthermore, I would like to have so many mountains near my house because if someone asks me to choose between rivers and mountains, I am a mountain person. So it would enhance the beauty of my house.

Band 6-7

My ideal home? My ideal home would be situated away from the city, away from all the noise of the city, busyness. It would like be a big home, definitely, with a lot of space for movement and a big, big garden space. And the house would have ideally five rooms, three bedrooms, one drawing room and a kitchen. Every room will be having an attached bathroom. And why I want a drawing room is, today we, in today's scenario, everyone preferred remote work and having a drawing room will be very much useful for doing our work in a very conducive manner. And, and I would like to include indoor plants in each room and to keep the place very refreshing. And I would like to have a big garden, like I said, with a swing set, where we can, you know, explore, you know, relax a bit after the day's work. And definitely, I will have a, why three bedrooms, I will have a bedroom for my grandparents, I will stay with my grandparents, seek their knowledge and experience in everything I do. So I would like to have a room for my grandparents. And it and as I said, it should be something which is very sustainable, a building which is very sustainable and thinks about the environmental impacts too. So a building which is low, which does not impact the environment in a bad way, that is what I prefer. And, of course, there will be another bedroom for the children, kids, and they will be having a good time, play a playroom kind of thing with a lot of paintings and colors.

Band 6-7

I think my ideal home would have to start with the location in which I want to make it. I would ideally pick like a quaint little beach town in India or maybe Indonesia. So I think a place like Gokarna, Varkala which is in Kerala or the Peraranan area in Bali could be great for this dream house that I'm envisioning. I really like to have a lot of space and live in a spacious environment. So I think I would want a villa that's at least two stories tall and it would also have a front yard as well as a backyard. I think I would use the front yard for relaxing and having some beautiful plants around it and in the backyard maybe I would like to have some sort of a kitchen garden where I can practice growing my own produce. I would also love to have a swimming pool in the house because I am a water baby. I do love to get into the water and swim. Apart from that, I think the interior of the house will be really minimal and simple. I would love a lot of natural light in the house and two of the main areas that I would really like to focus on would be the kitchen area because I love to cook and an entertainment area with maybe like a seating pit where I can invite friends over for dinner or coffee and just chat with them and spend a lot of quality time with my friend circle. I think that would be my ideal house.

Band 6-7

My idea of an ideal home would be having a 4 bedroom hall kitchen apartment in the suburbs of Mumbai. I definitely like the lifestyle at Mumbai due to which I believe that I want a home specific to my needs in the heart of Bombay. It's necessary for me to have a house in Bombay as it's a very important milestone in my life where I would be owning one of the most expensive houses in the city of Mumbai. I find it amusing where people buy houses worth over 25-30 crores and live with 2-3 members in the family. So being a part of a nuclear family I definitely would like to indulge in such activities and primarily focus on achieving such an ideal home. That home will bring me a lot of wealth and prosperity in my near future. It should also include a swimming pool, a table tennis or a snooker table, a coffee machine and most importantly something fancy that I should look at and be more scared that this should not have been the most impulsive buy I've had.
