Share how the gift made you feel, whether it was happiness, nostalgia, or gratitude, to connect with the listener.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Last month, my sister went to Japan for a trip and she brought me a lot of Japanese accessories. Now, Japan is known for the beautiful jewelries. They are so breathtaking and so feminine and floral. She got me a few hairpins. As I have straight hair, I really need hairpins. She knew that and she got me beautiful elegant hairpins which have a little flower embroidered on it and she also got me a couple of earrings. They are also very delicate as Japanese culture is known for their embroidery and jewellery and I really love and cherish them. I wore it yesterday for a family function and I got many compliments on it and they are very beautiful.

Well, clothing holds a really special place in my culture and I was given a beautiful saree by my grandmother on the occasion of my birthday. She gave it to me on my birthday and she told me that she wanted me to keep it as her memoir and more importantly it was her saree that was an old one and it was a really expensive saree I guess but she gave it to me saying that I could keep it as a memory of her for ages to come and then pass it down on to the next generations. Clothing is something very special to me and it describes how a person looks and it helps in easily judging the personality and looks of a person. Well, clothes hold a significant place in the tradition of India and they are mostly presented to people on various occasions such as birthdays, marriages and certain other occasions but they are more importantly memories of people and they mark an occasion which is more important than just a piece of clothing. Clothing if you ask me is not just a piece of fabric but it is more than just fabric and threads, it is an emotion, it connects you to your roots and to your ancestors and you to your future generations.
