Tip

Be specific about the item, including its color, style, and any unique features that make it special.

2: Neglecting Emotional Impact

Tip

Share how the gift made you feel, whether it was happiness, nostalgia, or gratitude, to connect with the listener.

Ignoring Context and Story

Not providing context about the giver and the occasion can lead to a disjointed answer. Context helps the listener understand the significance of the item.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I'm going to talk about a present that I was given on behalf of my husband for my birthday. It was a suit, a stylish suit that I love it. I'm great fascinated by it. It is from Zara brand which is known for its durable and stylish cloths. I love it. It's a black suit that I can wear it in many places. I love it and I think that some cloths from some brands have more quality than the others. Although sometimes I'm a price conscious person but also I need sometimes to not to care about the prices. I know that any penny earned is a penny, any penny saved is a penny earned. Despite this true but I know that I deserve sometimes to buy and wear qualified material.

I received an hoodie when I was five. This was around my birthday when all of my family members came across at 12am midnight to wish me. And they gifted me this one hoodie which is very close to my house. The reason it's very close to my heart is because it's a very old memory which hasn't repeated in a few years. And it's totally acceptable because we grow up as we get matured.

So, I would like to talk about an incident or gift that recently I received during my birthday. So, I received a streetwear t-shirt from of my favorite brand Dead Beer from a very close friend called Mani who is also my gym partner with whom I have been working out since last 3-4 years. So, my friend Mani knows that I am a fan of streetwear clothes and which brand I like and he exactly bought me that t-shirt. And so when I received that item, I initially refused it because currently I am 35 and I stopped taking gifts from many years but he persuaded me so I took it but at the same time I was quite thrilled to receive it because it was from my favorite brand. So, interestingly I think there are some good streetwear events which were organized from my company. So, basically I received that gift at the right moment. I wore that t-shirt to those events which was very relevant and yeah I really liked the color, the graphics, the art on the t-shirt. So, yeah I am really thankful to my friend for his generosity.

My boyfriend gave me a off-white trench coat, which I loved so much, but at that time I was a cool teenager, so I didn't prefer to wear formal clothing. At that time I preferred more casual clothes, but as I grew up, and now I am a teacher, so the trench coat that he had given me at that time, I now use very frequently and everyone praises me for its look and looks and I mean it looks good and very formal on me and I feel confident in wearing it. So that's it.

Last month, during Eid, my aunt visited us and she gave me this wonderful, lovely kurti. I was so happy because she hadn't visited us for a long time and when she did, she gifted me with this beautiful kurti. It was very simple, had a small flowered pattern with sequences here and there and it really gave a very elegant look. It was nice. It could be worn during a function or even casually, it's a very good attire. Furthermore, one might think you might not be able to use this or wear this to say a rally, but you can and you will definitely stand out. That was one of the main things that could be told about that kurti. So, it was wonderful.

I would like to talk about a special dress which was gifted by my husband. It was my 30th birthday and he gave me a surprise gift on that day. I clearly remembered that day. My husband was trying to show that he forgets my birthday. I was a little bit sad also but in the evening when I entered my room, I saw a packed box over there. When I opened that packed box, I was really astonished. It was a beautiful Punjabi suit of pink color. He knows about my choice in color. It is embroidered suit. There was a beautiful stall with it. I was really over the cloud. I wore it when my husband returned from office. I get ready while wearing this suit. I also bought some matching accessories with it. I was looking very beautiful. I know I was really happy.

Okay, so last year my maternal aunt gave me this brown dress. It was a floral dress with the knee length and she gave it to me not exactly as a gift but because that dress was not adequate for my sister anymore. So she gave it to me because I was a slender person back then. So she thought that it would fit me better. So this is why she gave that dress to me. I really liked that dress at that time and I still remember I paired it with my favourite shoes. The shoes were black in colour and I wore that dress when I went out with my friends and all of my friends really loved that dress. They literally loved my whole outfit. I still remember I got so many compliments that day. I was completely flattered and I loved that dress even though it was not a proper gift for me. It was just something which she gave it to me superficially because she thought that it will look better on me but that dress is so close to my heart. I really loved it and whenever I have to go somewhere which is important, I always wear this dress because I am completely sure that I will get compliments and I will look good in this dress. So I make sure that I don't get very obese so that I can still fit in that dress and look elegant while wearing it.

A piece of clothing that was gifted to me was a muffler made out of natural wool and it was gifted to me by my friend Vanessa. So this muffler was designed graphically to mimic a Harry Potter theme wherein it had the logo of the house Gryffindor on it and she gifted it to me because I'm a big Potterhead and I really like Harry Potter. I have grown up watching Harry Potter and I can go on and on and I love that movie altogether. I think it has really helped me develop my personality and I really associate with that story altogether. So Vanessa had decided to give me this muffler because it was my birthday and it was my first winters in Montreal as well and it's pretty cold here. So she saw the fact that I'm feeling cold probably and I don't have a muffler so she decided to give me a muffler which is themed in Harry Potter design. Since then I started using it and I must say it's a pretty good muffler and actually keeps me warm and other than that many people have actually appreciated me for wearing that and many times I have been asked questions about where is it from, who gave it to me and in fact people really want to buy the same so they are asking me as well although I have to tell them again and again that sorry you can't really buy it, she made it on her own. At the end of the day I think I'm really fortunate for the gift from her and I do care about that gift specifically because I don't know what I'm doing. It's going too bad.

That was a time on my birthday when my uncle gave me a cloth set that is a black suit. I like that very much and he gave me on my birthday and that made me feel very special after receiving that. I always wear that suit on very special occasions like weddings and some meetings and normal get togethers. I prefer to wear that suit with tie, the red tie. That look very decent on me and with the white shirt and black shoes. I was very lucky after receiving that suit.
