One thing I did to learn Korean was watching Korean dramas. I started watching them out of curiosity, but over time, I realized they were a great way to pick up the language. I would watch with subtitles, paying close attention to the pronunciation and common phrases. This helped me learn everyday expressions, cultural nuances, and even some informal slang. I also tried repeating the dialogues to improve my pronunciation. It was an enjoyable and effective way to learn as it combined entertainment with language practice. Watching Korean dramas not only improved my listening skills, but also motivated me to learn.

Follow up questions

Watching dramas provides insights into cultural norms, values, and social interactions. It exposes me to how language is used in context, helping me understand not just the words, but the emotions and cultural references behind them, which is crucial for effective communication.

Have you made any friends through your language learning journey?
Yes, I have made several friends through language exchange meetups and online platforms. Sharing our language learning experiences has not only helped me practice Korean but also allowed me to learn about their cultures and make lasting connections.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Thanks for giving me an opportunity to express my views on this topic, i.e. describe a thing you did to learn another language. So first thing I did was I searched and googled it for the coaching classes of German language. For that coaching classes I have paid around 10k per month and the risk I used to take to attend this classes was I travelled from Kothru to Baudhan for this classes and it was very precarious and very dangerous because everywhere there were various types of vehicles, let's say heavy vehicles, cars. So it was very dangerous to drive and even though I was driving I don't have any kind of license for that. So it was very dangerous. Then I have completed A1 level of German and I do got certification for the same and I feel very proud about it because no one in my class has done such an achievement for learning German language and it was very useful and helpful for me when I was interviewed for German MNC. So this language, the knowledge of this language has an added advantage to my career progression. So I am very proud of it.

Well, personally, I love the questions about languages because I love learning new languages. And other than English, the language I know and I've learned is Spanish. So the one thing, not only for English, but also for Spanish, that I did is I started watching movies in the language I wanted to learn. So that helped me a lot in learning new phrases and idioms. Not only that, but also about different tenses and when to use them. So that was one thing that I learned and it helped me a lot. Other than that, it was the vocabulary that I learned every day. There are ample of new words in movies that you learn, especially the colloquial words that are not very often used in daily conversations when you are talking to someone who is not native. So those are the kind of things that I learned from watching movies. And I think it was a great decision. I am proud of myself about taking a decision like that and learning it through a different platform, which was not only interesting, but also helpful. As people think that movies cannot help them in any area, but I guess if you are focusing on the right thing, it can be helpful in increasing your skillset, especially your communication and language. So that was one of the things I did to learn new languages. Not only to make my learning exciting, but also helpful.

And I could not speak in Telugu and could not read. So I said to my father about this situation. So he gave me a tip to talk in Telugu and contacted Fitesh Sir so that he could teach me in Telugu. Then I bought some of the materials by which I can read and speak. So after it, I started reading in Telugu slowly. Then I also got enough courage to write stories in Telugu. Then times passed, I passed with A grade in it. I was on Claude 9 when I had seen my results. After which, my state also prefers Telugu language as many of the books were written in Telugu language. So as far as I can read now in Telugu, spellings and books, whatever I can read. And also I can address someone by speaking with Telugu.
