Well, it's a very interesting topic. I would say, learning another language gives me the competitive edge from other students. Well, the most interesting language which I want to learn is the German language because I want to pursue my masters in Germany, so it's better to learn German language. This language helps me a lot in different ways, whether it's to communicate with other people, to get respect among the public. It's a very good moment for me to learn and from 2021 I will continue learning German language. It helps to enhance my skills and also it provides me the competitive edge.

Ever since I was a child, I was into Korean dramas and Korean movies. I think I have grown my entire life seeing those dramas and movies. I was always astonished as to how people treat each other with so much respect. Because they call each other Mr. and Mistress. It always made me want to study Korean. Three years ago, I thought I should make an effort to learn this language. What I did was I downloaded the Duolingo app which has been famous among the youngsters now. So many people use that to prepare for the IELTS too, I guess. I used that app and there were certain options as to how much you know about Korean. What do you want to be in Korean? Do you want to be a communicator or do you just want to learn the basic stuff? For me, I just wanted to learn the basic stuff because I don't think I'll be communicating with Koreans anytime soon. I just want to know the basic terms. How do you say good morning, good afternoon, thank you, how are you? In the Duolingo app, you get certain bonuses if you attend the test every single day. I tried to do it for almost a month but after a month, I was not able to continue the same. And this led me to lose all the bonuses I ever had.

One of the languages that I have really enjoyed learning is Spanish. My interest peaked in the language when I was in the 10th grade and I was sitting in the comfort of my home when I came across this app called Duolingo. I did not know about the app so I spent quite a lot of time searching and researching what the app has to offer. Suddenly I saw this language that instantly grabbed my attention and I wanted to sit and learn the language, which was Spanish. How I came across this language was music. Latin music has always been close to my heart and I genuinely enjoy the beats and the lyrics that go into the making of the sounds. How I developed this interest in learning the language was that I always admired native speakers as they had a nice ring to everything they say. Anything people used to say in Spanish grabbed my attention because it sounded so beautiful to the ears, so natural, that I always wanted to learn the language. Apart from that, learning Spanish did not make me quite fluent in the language but it did give me an opportunity to watch movies and understand bits and pieces of the words that the characters throw around so efficiently. I did feel a sense of accomplishment when I was watching a movie and I could understand a few words like casa, which means house, dinero, which means money, and I was genuinely happy that the effort and time I put into sitting every day and learning a lesson for 15 minutes was paying back when I watched movies and listened to songs where I could understand the lyrics and get along with the language. That was close to my heart.

I did my graduation in Tamil Nadu and I was born in Andhra Pradesh, so my mother tongue is Telugu and the language used in Tamil Nadu is Tamil. It is very much different from Telugu what we actually talk in our state because we only use majorly as Hindi and English, but going for education to that state that mainly requires Tamil as a primary language to communicate to others and also with the faculty. So I did a lot of things to learn Tamil. One of the most efficient thing that I did to learn Tamil is talking with the friends and with the locals of our class, like using same words when talking with them. I also did watch some of the movies in the local language so that I can grasp all the local words and use them frequently to learn. I also did travel to some places in Tamil Nadu where I majorly used Tamil to communicate with the locals and to get additional information. Moreover, Tamil is very hard to learn other than other languages, but I did a great job. I appreciate myself as I learned almost, almost I can translate any sentence or paragraph from Tamil to any other language because I have stayed there for three years. It's been a long journey and we also had roommates in our room of Tamil. It has been so helpful for me to learn Tamil because it is a barrier there in Tamil Nadu.

As someone who loves to learn new languages, I started my journey of learning the German language. Although initially it did not go very well, in order to improve my German language skills, I watched multiple YouTube videos of how others have mastered the language. I watched movies with German audio, with English subtitles, in order to improve my fluency and my speed of understanding. Although these helped me improve my understanding of the language, I do not think these are sufficient in order to master the language and for me to get a hold on the language. I believe that only when I'm surrounded by people who are constantly speaking the language and I'm constantly hearing words, that I will truly learn the language.

Well, the other language that I really prepped on speaking, other than my mother tongue Hindi-English, was Sanskrit. Mainly while learning Sanskrit, the grammar that is used is slightly different and is a bit more complicated and has an intriguing grammatical structure that it has. Like, the verbs and all are not the same. Okay. I'd say I just didn't learn a language like when I started. I can speak Marathi because everyone in my house does and I picked up on cues the same way Hindi. I was able to speak about it with my friends and other non-Maharashtrian people, with my peers and friend groups, with my peers and teachers sometimes. And I was able to speak English, I think since I was like 4th standard, so I don't really have an exact memory of how it was learned. I was learning Hindi and English simultaneously, you could say. So, the question is a bit of like, a bit of jab at me right now because I don't have a starting point which I could remember. Like, a point where I did a thing to learn a different language. I did also learn Sanskrit, but it was also pretty much vague. I just went through the grammatical structure that it has and it is pretty different and like, and it's like...

Firstly, I am a person well versed in English, though it is not my mother tongue. My mother tongue is Tamil, which is known as a native language of people of Tamil Nadu. There is a famous proverb which describes the Tamil accent as a person who stood with bow and arrow before the entire human civilization was formed. Though I am not a very good person, fluent in other languages of India.

The language I would like to learn, probably I would say Hindi language, because Hindi is one of the traditional languages in my country. Every north Indian people speak in Hindi, so Hindi is one of the practicable languages. Everybody should know about how to talk, how to interact with each other in Hindi. So the most used language is Tamil in India. In addition, I would like to speak in Hindi from childhood. Even though I was not born from the Hindi family, it's not even my second language, it's a third language. My son was not a Hindi speaker, actually. They could use English and Tamil mostly. So it's my third language to practice how to speak in Hindi.
