Well, this was the risk taken by me back then in 2014 when I was about to decide my major subject for my bachelor's degree. I was interested both in physics as well as biology and most of my family members and my parents were of the opinion that they required me to select engineering as my career choice. But I was more interested into biology and I was also good in physics. I made a decision that I will select biology and go for a career in medical sciences and that was a risk which I took. I thought it would be a terrible decision to take biology as the major subject as I had never dreamed of becoming a doctor and it was highly unexpected. In the initial years of my bachelorate or my degree course, it was a bit hard for me to go through all the biological concepts and the medical terminologies but as the first year went, it was something which I had already, I already pursued an inner quality for the same and after so many years, I think I have a successful career in the medical field and I am much satisfied with the position in which and who I am today.

Follow up questions

What motivated you to choose biology over engineering despite family pressure?
I was genuinely interested in biology and felt a strong connection to the subject. Even though my family preferred engineering, I realized that pursuing my passion would lead to greater satisfaction and success in my career.

How did you overcome the challenges you faced in your biology studies?
Initially, it was tough to grasp the complex concepts and terminologies. However, I dedicated extra time to study, sought help from professors, and formed study groups with classmates, which helped me understand the material better.

What advice would you give to someone facing similar decisions about their career path?
I would advise them to follow their passion and interests rather than succumbing to external pressures. It's important to choose a path that resonates with you, as this will lead to greater fulfillment and success in the long run.

One of the most incredible risk that I have ever taken in my life was during my 12th grade. I have actually completed my schooling and it was my time to apply for college. So I was basically a biology student and maths was never my cup of tea. So I need to crack my NEET exam but the thing is I haven't applied for any colleges other than the medicine ones. NEET was my last ray of hope and I was solely relying on this one exam with high confidence on myself that I will clear this exam. I prepared for a period of about two years for this exam and I was awaiting the results on one fine day and when the results came and when I attended the counselling, I was able to feel elation because I cleared NEET and I have got a seat in medical college in Thiruvarur. Furthermore, my family supported me during all phases of this period and they always provided me with a tranquil environment so that I can study in peace. They supported all my decisions. Furthermore, they were always standing by my side as good well-wishers and taking me through all these hurdles like they were nothing. So I striked the iron when it was hot and yes, I was able to crack my NEET exam and I am a fully flourished doctor now.

Follow up questions

What motivated you to take such a significant risk with your education?
My motivation stemmed from my passion for medicine and the desire to help others. I realized that pursuing a career in medicine was my calling, and despite my struggles with math, I was determined to succeed in the NEET exam to achieve my dream.

How did you manage your stress during the preparation for the NEET exam?
I managed my stress by creating a structured study schedule and incorporating regular breaks. Additionally, my family's support played a crucial role in keeping me calm. I also practiced mindfulness techniques, which helped me stay focused and reduce anxiety.

What advice would you give to someone facing a similar risk in their education?
I would advise them to believe in themselves and stay committed to their goals. It's essential to seek support from family and friends, maintain a positive mindset, and not be afraid to take calculated risks. Hard work and perseverance can lead to unexpected positive outcomes.

Okay, so I would like to tell you about one of the most not so terrible but yes the risky experience about my life. I am learning German since 7 to 8 years now. So at the starting phase of learning, I have booked the test date for even exam and I am not yet prepared for the exam at all but still I took the risk and I have booked the date for that exam. So I have booked the exam, it's 10 days before the actual exam date. So I only had 10 days for the preparation. So I went to the library, I read, I have read a lot of books over there. And I studied a lot. I tried to find how I can study in just 10 days. So I take my time, I read a lot of grammar books that helps me a lot. And it's not about the study but it's about the risk that you have to be, that you have to take in your life because the risk will tell you how to do the things without, without risk.

Follow up questions

I was motivated by my desire to challenge myself and improve my German skills. I believed that taking the exam would push me to study harder and focus on my weaknesses, ultimately helping me grow in my language learning journey.

How did you manage your time effectively during those 10 days?
I created a strict study schedule that allocated specific hours for grammar, vocabulary, and practice tests. I prioritized the most important topics and made sure to take short breaks to stay refreshed and maintain my focus throughout the preparation period.

I learned that taking risks can lead to unexpected positive outcomes. It taught me the importance of stepping out of my comfort zone and that sometimes, a little pressure can motivate me to achieve more than I thought possible.

The risk I took that I thought would lead to a terrible result but ended up with a positive result is definitely planning to move to a different city because all my life I have lived with my parents in my hometown. I was so sophisticated and was so comfortable. So at one point I thought I want to move to a different city and I want to experience the culture and the struggles they are facing because all my friends have moved to different cities from their hometown for work purposes. So I also planned that I want to also experience the same. So I left my hometown after a great struggle after fighting with my parents and I went to a new city. It's a metropolitan city called Chennai in Tamil Nadu, the southern part of India. So that city I got a job there. I went for an interview and I got selected and there I was living in an individual house. I wanted to be independent that is the main thing I went there. So starting it was quite a hectic job, it was so struggle. So I struggled to organize my home, it was a new experience for me. So later I got used to it, I got adapted and managed to somehow. I got new neighbors and I got new friends in that new city and I got many good experiences. I had the opportunity to explore the places with my friends and it's quite a great experience. And I even tried a new dish that's called lobster and that I haven't ever tried in my city because there we can't get lobsters. Initially it was tough for me to handle the situation like paying bills, electricity, cylinder, that was a hectic thing. But later...

When I was preparing for my 11th boards, I chose to prepare only set of 20 to 25 questions maximum and then I was so confident that these are the questions that are gonna come and to be honest, it's a very big risk because you know, I kind of be compromising on my future itself. But then I was very persuasive and then I stuck to my idea which till today I am very thankful for myself to be honest. This is basically like a cheat sheet but it's not exactly something legal or something. But it's a simple sheet which consists of the questions that were repeated and then according to me, according to my theory, these are the only questions that are gonna come and guess what, I was right. It could either have gone very terrible or a very positive result but I ended up with a very positive result which made me happy. I was on cloud nine to be honest. And taking risks is good for you. I mean at least from my experience, they've rewarded me a lot but at the same time, they've let me down a lot but I still say that taking risks is worth it when you have the prize, you know. Thank you.

Follow up questions

What other risks have you taken in your life?
I've taken several risks, like moving to a new city for college without knowing anyone. It was daunting, but it helped me grow and meet amazing people. Each risk has taught me valuable lessons about resilience and adaptability.

How do you evaluate whether a risk is worth taking?
I usually weigh the potential benefits against the possible downsides. I consider my gut feeling and past experiences. If the potential reward is significant and I feel prepared, I tend to go for it, but I also have a backup plan just in case.

Can you think of a time when a risk did not pay off?
Yes, there was a time I invested in a project that seemed promising but ultimately failed. It was disappointing, but it taught me to do more research and not rush into decisions. I learned that not all risks lead to success, but they can still offer valuable lessons.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I chose to lose weight last year because I want to improve my overall health by reducing the potential risks associated with being overweight such as increasing risk of heart diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure and certain types of cancer. I might have also been motivated by asymptotic reasons like wanting to fit better into clutch or feel more confident in body. I had been given the chair holder for the literary club of my college and I took over the responsibility of making a huge model representing the theme of the fest my club was conducting, Legacy. That was a risk that I took. Many people doubted me for it, most of them disagreed with me going ahead with this plan given that I had a lot of other work that needed to be done in order to successfully conduct the fest but I had a team of 40 students and all of them worked hard, we collaborated really well and that result ended up being so good and it had a very positive impact on the overall performance of my team. I honestly believe that trusting yourself and trusting your gut could lead to very good results only and only if you believe in yourself.

I took the risk to move moving to a different country which I don't have any idea of. I've been to US last year and I do think that taking that step is really changed my life because this not only changed me personally but my professional goal as well as I aspire to become a chef in my future and moving there would be a definitely going to give me a different perspective of world a different perspective of the world and I do think that you know I ended in the very great move because I get to learn so many things not only professionally but interpersonal skills as well I am a extrovert I would say but moving to a different environment which gives you a very different kind of sense of responsibility that you need to follow and I think that I have chosen my life which I wanted and having to move there give me a sense of responsibility that I have towards my parents. I started respecting my family and my friends who used to call me everyday. I try to manage my schedules. I used to go to gym everyday. I started eating healthy. So I do think that those lifestyle have given me a chance to become better than who I am today, who I was and that's the reason why I think that moving to US changed my life entirely and once I came back to my home country I inculcate all this learning into my professional career and some of the personal gain that I got from there. I definitely admire everything about this opportunity that I got.

This is question good for me. I can connect with this question in personal life. In 2021 I was in 12th class. I was starting to prepare for IIT JEE advance. At that time I was also preparing for 12th board exam. But I know both exams were important for me and what I considered. But one thought was running in my mind. I was thinking that yes if I have cleared the JEE advance then nobody ask about my 12th board exam. Yes I have started preparation about JEE advance. But in the corner of my brain one thought was running. Yes if I have failed IIT JEE advance exam and I also not get good marks in 12th board exam then how do I get admission. How I will get admission in good university for my further education. I was totally totally scaring about that situation. But yes I played myself and before main JEE advance result the students need to take the exam JEE main. I cleared first JEE main. First part of JEE main. I was got 86 percentile. It was not good enough. It was not good enough. Second attempt it was 98.9 percentile and I was happy. Then I think really I can get an IIT if I not if I will not clear the JEE advance. But after that I forgot.

Actually, I think the biggest risk I have taken in my life is my UG. I'm a dentist. I have completed my dental degree 10 years before. So at that time when I completed my higher secondary school, I didn't like dentistry. I don't want to get into it. But it was my parents' dream. So in order to fulfil their dream and desire that their daughter wants to become a dentist, I joined the course. And I didn't, to be honest, I didn't like the course at all. So that 5 years was like a hell for me. I didn't like any of the subjects. But still, I managed to clear all my subjects and graduate with flying colours. But once when I started working, started practising dentistry, I started loving the job. Because of the challenges it gave me each and every day, I tend to meet many people day to day. So I think this is the best, the risk, best of all risks I have taken so far, the risk that is worth. So I think, I don't believe I have taken any other risk other than this because I got too mature and I was so keen on what I want and what I don't want. But selecting my field in dentistry is the only thing that I straight away blindly opted for it just because for my parents, I think that was very risky because I didn't expect what the outcome it would be. Just like that, the 5 years went. I was so happy about it. Now I have also done a PG in gynecology and clinical cosmetology as well because I started loving the risk. And now my day to day life is a great risk because I am dealing with the patient's diseases and human lives to be honest.
