When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

    Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

Well, there is this one person called Radhakrishnan, who is not from the same background and culture as that of mine. He belongs to more southern region of India. So I don't know why I feel that he is way different to that of mine, but I never felt so. But when I just went through it and just cross-checked with him and when we just started to know more about each other, that is when I got to know that there are a lot of cultural differences between me and him. So I usually tend to work with him. So we do a sleep study. So that is how we work together. The way of his approach is quite different when compared to that of our people, I mean the people who belong to this particular region. You know, he's very pleasable, he's very approachable, and he's very humble and simple. He's not a sort of person who has, what to say, anger just over the tip of his fingers. He tries to analyze things and he tries to explain things without acting instantaneously at any moment. So that is what makes him quite, what to say, unique in perspective to me or my culture. And they are also quite different in relation to food habits as well as dressing sense and what to say, physical fitness. And this is how, you know, these are some of the factors where he differs in quite a lot miles, you know. So I have known him and I enjoy spending time with him. It's because he's very humble, he's very simple, and he's very approachable. I've never seen him getting angry and that is what adds up our relationship more and more. I would not love to lose him in the near future.

My friend Karthik is from Gujarat, but he was raised in Mumbai for quite some time. I am from Bangalore. I am a typical South Indian and he spent most of his life in North India. So we have different cultural experiences. Some of the ways that we spend time together is we go out, we eat food. I have got to try Gujarati snacks like Tepla and Kakra because of him. I have really grown to enjoy these snacks. We also listen to Bollywood songs. Majority of my friends listen only to South Indian songs. But since Karthik is from North India, I really enjoy listening to Hindi music with him. We hang out, we watch Hindi movies whenever they come. One of the favorite movies of ours is Houseful. We have also got a chance to travel a lot. We recently had been to Goa. We got to explore the Goan cuisine and style. Since he had an experience of staying in Maharashtra for quite a bit, he was acquainted with the Goan cuisine and accent. We spent a lot of time together in the college lab as well. Friendship with him has been a really positive experience for me. It has impacted me in a very positive manner. It has been really heartwarming to be his friend and to find out various cultural aspects of North India. Overall, it has been a wonderful time that I have spent with him.
