When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

    Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

A cultural place to learn about cultural could be a city museum. City museums are often located in the heart of the city, sometimes a short walk from the central park. When visiting a city museum, you might see a statue of a famous explorer. These museums are often spread over a few floors, each with different exhibits such as ancient artifacts, poetry, tools, displays of local artists, paintings and sculptures. Museums can contain old photographs and documents that tell the story of how a city was built, connecting you to the past and present. They are a treasure chest of stories and memories where you can learn something new every time you visit. Some museums display old instruments and recordings so you can listen to the sounds that people made years ago. Museums preserve and showcase cultural history and educate people about how culture has evolved over time. They can be a central meeting point for historians and artists play a significant role in cultural education. They are popular with locals and tourists and are especially busy during holidays. If I had the chance to travel and understand the place's culture, the first thing that comes into my mind would be Paris. I have seen it in movies and TV shows, the vibrant culture that they bring and to be able to experience it first hand would be a dream come true. I would like to see the movies and TV series, the theatre that is built there, the monuments, wonderful monuments from ancient times that have survived the test of time, just the way they have constructed the architecture, the city, the views, the fashion that Paris is known for, experience different kind of luxury goods that you can only find in Paris. If I talk about a place that I would like to learn the culture of, it should definitely be a theatre. If I talk about the theatre, it's more of an emotion than just a place. A theatre is basically where plays and acts happen. So from there, we can not just learn about one thing, we can learn about a lot of things. If we talk about a theatre, plays and acts, it has different kinds of genres, which are mostly like emotional plays, then there are character build-up plays, then you know, the rise of the person thingy. I think theatres have a lot of character that a person can learn and build personality from. The one thing I like about theatre is that you can take part in the theatre thingy, or you can just watch it, and in both of them you can learn a lot of things. It's more about learning, so I think that's one thing. And apart from that, when you master theatre, I think it brings out a different kind of character in you. So I think it is really good. I think a theatre is not just a place to just sit, but if you take part in it, it will reveal a greater character within you. Theatres, even if you get side roles, or if you get the main role, it's fine if you get the main role, but even in the side roles, you get to learn and portray some things that have a meaning in itself. Even a side character has a lot to show. So I think a theatre is something that I would personally enjoy to learn the culture from.

Last October I went on a vacation with my friends in a city called Udaipur which is situated in Rajasthan, it's a state in India. I like the culture, the architecture and the history of that place. That place has so many forts and so much history when we were going around. The people over there has a different kind of tradition. The food was very different, they had a very famous food called Dal Bati Churma which is prepared in ghee. The most important thing which I want to explore over there is the royalty of that place. I was very keen about exploring the history of that place, how the kings and queens used to live there, their history and the cultures that they used to follow. Even now they have a king to that city who stays in the palace over there called city palace. They have donated 80% of that palace for the tourism and in the 20% they have their own residence. By looking at that palace the only thing I visualise is how royal the life was back in that time and it really excites me.

I would like to mention about a theater where anybody can learn about the culture of any particular place. The theater was in Jaito Fridgad, located in Punjab state. I had watched a movie of Char Sahibzadeh when I was in 9th class. I am 14 years old on that time. Moreover, that movie was about the four sons of a great saint of Sikhism, that was Guru Gobind Singh. Besides that, all the four children have given their independence and freedom to the humanity. Despite that, they never had any particular type of fear, they always were there for the help of the people even from another religion. I have learned about their culture that the Sikhism plays a significant role in our country to make our country diverse. Additionally, I have learned that these people and their contribution in our country is very major and we can't neglect any sort of religion in my country. Even Sikhism has taught me various things, how to contribute, how to help the helpless people and always take care in a positive manner.

A place where I would like to learn a culture would be acting theatre because an acting theatre contains and consists of very diverse people who have been converged from very different cultures. For example, I have visited a theatre in Chennai which has a very diverse and very united people who are very emotionally expressive and also very knowledgeable at the same time. So interacting with them and learning their ideologies and perspectives about different things would really help in changing one's perception about things. And we can also feel that life is very simple than what we are actually thinking it to be. And also, however we are from a very different background from theirs, we could adapt their mentality and mindset which would make our lives easier. And also, an acting theatre exposes a variety of stories and variety of scripts and variety of cultural activities and norms which are actually existing. They talk about a lot of relational difficulties and also practical difficulties where people and cultural differences are not actually exposed to. So that is something I would...

I would like to share about library. Library has a culture to speak. It holds a number of books on the racks. Everyone will be quiet. We make silence and they won't disturb others. The culture is very beautiful. It is easy to understand and keep concentrating on what we are learning, what we are reading, what we are acquiring knowledge. It's really great. Library is the best place for learning something from books. Library is the only place for number of books. We can get any sort of books. It means business books. I love to read about the book called Think Like a Monk. Monk won't think about money. He will only think about to pray to God and without money he will spend his life. That's a great thing. Another book called Atomic Habits. Most Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are very famous person. In the library, those inspiring stories, books should be compulsory, should be in the library. It means in the stock of library. Library is the best place for learning some sort of knowledge. Many sort of UPSC students will come to library and they will learn something.
