Tips to answer this Cue Card

1: Vague Descriptions

Avoid being too general when describing your hobby. Vague answers can make it hard for the examiner to understand your passion and interest in the hobby.

bulb icon

Tip

Provide specific details about the hobby, such as what it involves, your experiences, and any unique aspects that make it special to you.

2: Ignoring Financial Aspects

Not explaining why the hobby is expensive can lead to an incomplete answer. The examiner expects to understand the financial implications of your hobby.

bulb icon

Tip

Clearly outline the costs involved, such as equipment, materials, or membership fees, and explain how these contribute to the overall expense.

Lack of Personal Connection

Failing to express your personal desire to pursue the hobby can make your answer less engaging. The examiner wants to hear your motivations and feelings.

bulb icon

Tip

Share your personal reasons for wanting to pursue the hobby, such as enjoyment, relaxation, or personal growth, to create a more compelling narrative.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

So thanks for giving me an opportunity to express my thoughts on this topic that is expensive hobby. So talking about hobbies, I do have various kinds of hobbies like playing football and watching TV, then it's kind of going for walk, so this kind of hobby I do have. But the expensive hobby I do have is going to shopping malls and going to various restaurants which are, which where the celebrities go and they have their lunch and dinner. So this is kind of expensive hobby do I have and talking about why it is expensive because I like going to expensive hotels where I can taste various types of, various types of cuisines like continental, again you can say Chinese and Italian. So these are my expensive hobbies which cannot, which I cannot perceive daily because it's a cost to the pockets and I do a corporate job, so doing this thing daily is not my cup of tea and going to other people, other people, they go to restaurants, then we can see hotels which are expensive, once in a blue moon, but yeah, talking about this, it's very expensive and hefty to the pocket, so I do feel really bad.

Yeah, I think golf is one of the most expensive sports around the world and I think it's only exclusively for wealthy people. I would like really to be one of the people who want to play this sport. It gives me the sense of being a rich man and that all people will give me the respect that I deserve. Exactly, I don't know why this sport is an expensive sport, but I think the area where people play on needs a lot of preparation. You need a minicar to drop you here and there. I think it costs a lot for the owner, that's why the entry fee is much higher compared to other kinds of sports. There's many many people around the world, from the wealthy people who play this game and at least the entry fee for this game will cost you around 5,000 bucks, which is too much for an average people with an average income. But one day I think I'll be one of the most rich people with 1 million credit in my bank.

An expensive hobby that I wish to pursue but I can't pursue it daily would be Pilates. Pilates is a type of fitness regime that strengthens and tones your body. It is expensive because of the limited availability in India. It is a mix of HIIT and strength training which allows your body to be fit without having to do extensive weights. Since it is relatively new in India, we have a very limited number of instructors who know about this and are able to instruct people accordingly. Due to this reason, it is really expensive in India. This kind of activities also requires a small batch or one-on-one session. As there are limited instructors, due to this reason, it becomes expensive for each person to book a session.

One of the most expensive hobbies would be traveling. It is expensive because it involves using a lot of finances to fund our own traveling and only those who are born with a silver spoon or those who have enough money saved in their accounts or those who have been saving up for that would be able to pursue it. Ideally it is not a hobby that I would like to pursue but if given a chance I would like to travel around the world and maybe due to the fact that I want to know and learn about the different cultures, visit historical places and monuments around the world and also develop stronger and maintain and make connections with people from different backgrounds and different communities.

The expensive hobby that I see daily in my life is swimming. Why I am considering it as an expensive hobby? The initial investment is huge in terms of buying swimsuit and goggles, the nose pin and also the pair of swimsuits. Considering the initial investment and also daily we need to pay the hourly rate. For example, for one hour if I want to swim, I need to pay 200 rupees as a hourly rate charges. So because of that I consider swimming as an expensive sport in my life. Although I consider it as an expensive sport but it has so many advantages. If we swim daily, we will be very fit and we will be able to burn out the calories very easily. And swimming is considered as one of the risk-free sports. You will not be getting injury as like other sports that we play. For example, cricket, football, these are very injury prone sports. But unlike those, swimming is very injury-free sports in my point of view.

So the hobby I'm going to discuss about is traveling. Traveling is fun and traveling can enrich your mental ability to think more and diversify your mental health to flourish it in a way that you feel peaceful and an embraced version of yourself. It can be tough to manage and get your expenses in check. You can't pursue it daily. You can go travel whether occasionally or whether on special occasions with family or yourself. Solo travelers are fun but they have to bear a lot of expenses and it can also take so much of efforts and consume time when you don't want to go to the place but also you want to enjoy the fact. So it only comes to consumption of time and consumption of money and one can't pursue it on the daily basis. Also traveling for me is a great choice of hobbies when it comes to hobby but it can't be done on daily basis. That's all I'm wrapping up and thank you.

So, my most expensive hobby that I would think is antique car collections. If you may ask, why is it expensive? Because of the cost of those cars and the availability of those cars. Like, these cars are so expensive that not everybody can afford it. And, the collection of these cars is my childhood dream. From my early ages, I have been very much fond of these cars. And, collecting them has always been a dream for me. Why, if you ask, is the market value of these cars is totally amazing. And, my passion for cars. As people say, like, old is gold. So, these cars, like...

I was completely into traveling and tourism. I am really a travel enthusiast when it comes to traveling the world or traveling into India. It is the best hobby for me till now. I really would love to explore each and every state of India and tourist places in India. Not only India but also the whole country I want to explore.

For me, the most expensive hobby is shopping, whether it is online and offline shopping. But I used to like shopping a lot and it is expensive because it's obviously a waste of money. Sometimes I feel like it's a waste of money and sometimes I feel like it's just an investment and it's just for the happiness. I used to get the happiness by spending money on some cute little things for me. Shopping is such a thing which I think every person used to enjoy shopping a lot except the husbands. For me, my husband doesn't like to do shopping and he doesn't like to do the shopping with me also because I want to explore so many things, especially in the winter, shopping. Online shopping is like we have to just sit at home and scroll our phone and search out the things that we have to give the money. By sitting at home, we are just buying the things. Shopping makes me feel happy and it's obviously changed my overall mood. Sometimes whenever I feel like I'm feeling sick or I'm feeling mentally unhealthy, unfit, so I used to go for shopping. I feel like to spend some money on my shopping and most of the things I used to buy like clothes and purses. I am addicted to buying purses and shopping I like the most.

Hello, good morning. So one hobby which I like, which I feel that is very expensive is traveling. So why I feel traveling is very expensive is because traveling carries a lot of expenses within itself. For example, if I have to say that like, if we'll travel to some place, we have to look for the transportation cost that that will incur. And apart from transportation, we also do have to look for the accommodation. And the apart from accommodation, we do have to look for, we do, we do have to take an account on on the traveling accommodation and and the rent. Yeah. And the equipments that are involved with traveling. So basically traveling, we can't travel on a daily basis, since it occurs, it incurs a lot, lot of costing within itself. So, yes. And
