When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

My favorite genre to watch movies and TV shows is romantic comedy. While I was looking for a nice comedy and romantic TV show, my friend suggested me to watch Schitt's Creek. This show is available on Netflix and it has several seasons. It is actually a sitcom which has various kinds of themes like romance, family, emotion and most importantly inclusivity. So, this character called David is a queer character. This show made it a point to portray this person as the main lead instead of a comedic relief. If you look at most of the films or TV shows, they make it a point to display the queer characters in a very derailing or demeaning way. However, what this show did differently was it made it a point to show them as any other heterosexual character is out there. They did not try to use them for any sort of humor or any sort of disrespect. They purely portrayed their needs and their desire and their relationships in a pure blissful manner. So, that is one of the reasons why I love this show and not to mention it's quite funny. They made sure that no joke is offensive or disrespecting any person or any sexual orientation. It's a pure, clean comedy show. It does not have any sort of bad humor or dark humor.

I want to share my experience about one series which I liked the most is Game of Thrones. It is a series which was hyped since I was in school. My classmates used to just wait for the new episodes and watch it the same day when it is released. So I just got interested in that by seeing some reels and watching its trailers on different websites. So I started watching it in my college and I am shocked to say that I completed that series in one week. That series contains 8 episodes and each seasons have 10 episodes in particular. And each episode is of around 1 hour and still I managed to complete it in a week because it was so interesting. It was all about how the politics of the throne goes by and my favorite character in that series was Jon Snow because how his character got developed along the different seasons, I just liked it completely. It was a fictional series which have certain unreal creatures like dragons, witches, giants, white walkers, dead peoples, walking. So I kind of liked the concept of it but it was absolutely sensational watching it.

When I was a kid, I used to watch Shin-chan. It is a Japanese animation cartoon and I really loved it because he was very notorious and my mom always used to compare me to him that you are also notorious like him. He was very naughty and I used to enjoy his day-to-day routine and life which they used to show in the television and when I grew up, usually the habit of watching Shin-chan faded away with time but I still watch Shin-chan sometimes whenever I feel to and whenever I get nostalgic to the memories. So yes, I loved Shin-chan so much.

One TV series that I really like is Friends, which is a very popular American sitcom. I first watched it about 3 years ago when one of my friends recommended it to me during the lockdown. Since then, I have re-watched many episodes because it is very entertaining and light hearted. The series is about 6 friends, Rachel, Rose, Monica, Candler, Joy, Phobe who lives in New York City. It mainly focuses on their personal and professional lives, their relationships and the funny situations they often get into. Even though the story lines are simple, the humor, timing and chemistry between the characters make it very enjoyable. I liked this series for several years. Firstly, it is extremely funny and no matter how many times I watch it, I still laugh at the jokes. Secondly, it shows the value of friendship and how people support each other through ups and downs, which makes it feel relatable. Another reason is that the language used is quite natural, so it has also helped me improve my English listening skills. Overall, I enjoy Friends because it combines comedy and life lessons in a way that never gets boring. It's the kind of series I can watch anytime whether I can stress or just looking for some relaxation. The series is about 6 friends. It mainly focuses on their personal and professional lives, their relationships and the funny situations they often get into.

My most liked TV series is actually an animated series known as Demon Slayer. I recently finished its 5th season and it was very amazing. It is about a boy whose sister turns into a demon and he tackles many obstacles to find the cure to his sister. The series taught me about dedication, determination and love towards their loved ones. I personally follow the series because of the character development and the various fight scenes in the series. I enjoy the series a lot.

Okay, the TV series which I like the most is Game of Thrones. I watched it during my first year of my college, along with my friends, and it gave a nostalgic vibe of ancient kingdom and its people. The series is filled with adventure, romance, drama, action, war, and crime. So, the series is basically about the battle for a primary throne. So, there are seven kingdoms in the nation, and each kingdom has its own lord, and those lords are kings. So, each lords have different opinions and distinct personalities. So, everyone focuses on putting their people forward and raising their opinions. This leads to conflict, pain and suffering, and the battle between seven kingdoms arises. So, each kingdom tries to form alliance with other kingdoms so that they can take their throne. And also, the series consists of mythical beasts like dragons and also some villains who are fantasy-based. The writer of this show is George RR Martin, who wrote his book, but I would suggest to watch the series because it gave very good memories that I still remember. And this series connects widely to the world audience because it is really good.

So, one of my all-time favorite TV series is The Friends. I like this particularly because it's about a group of friends that band together and it's about how they navigate their life in New York. I started watching it during the COVID pandemic. At that time, I was stuck at home, we couldn't go out, we couldn't go to my college to study. So I had a lot of free time there. So I kind of binge-watched it a lot and one of the particular things which I like about watching Friends is that it is such a funny and a very good-feeling series. In addition to that, we see how well a group of friends can make life better. It's about how you can have friends and how they make your life more beautiful, more thrilling, and more enjoyable. This is one such series which I watch again and again when I am bored, or when I am sad, or even when I am happy. It is one such series of which I can never be bored of.

    Band 7

So, a TV series I really love watching is Friends. The first time I saw it was back in 2016 when I was in school and the show is about a group of six friends who are living in New York just trying to figure out adult life so in that way all the characters are very relatable. And it has that classic nine days magic. The show is shot with a live audience so that's I think something specific that I really like about the show is that you can hear people laugh in the background. All of the episodes are really short, none more than 20-25 minutes so I can always watch an episode really quickly even if I don't have too much time. Because I've re-watched it a few times now, I've also come to realize that the show is really layered, like beyond being absolutely hilarious, there's also layered comedy in the show. Every time I re-watch it I realize that there's a joke that I missed or there's a literature reference that I am now perhaps informed enough to understand or well-read enough to understand and yes, I watch it with friends, I watch it with my family and it definitely has to be my favourite show of all time.

    Band 7

So, a recent TV show which I picked up and have grown to love it is Stranger Things which I am sure is quite popular at the moment. The reason why I love it is that it gives a retro vibe which is not that common in this day and age. So, it features a multi-dimensional fictional plot which starts off by a kid getting lost in a different dimension and while we are still unaware of all of the possibilities of that dimension in the first season, it then gradually develops and thickens the plot as we progress towards the rest of the seasons. So, however it is fictional, it demonstrates quite a strong grasp of the heroism that kids are showing and I know that might not be a very good point but I still prefer to watch that over traditional Indian dramas and serials.

    Band 7

I do not watch TV series, but I like to watch anime. One particular anime series I would highly recommend is Attack on Titan. Around 5 years ago, I watched that episode 1 of it and I was stunned to speak. Their storytelling is so good. Our protagonist is a child who lives inside a wall and it is peaceful. But one day, a catastrophic event happened. A giant titan emerged and kicked the wall. From the entrance, small titans appeared and started to eat humans. It was terrifying to watch the first episode. As the story progresses, each element opens with a new plot twist and it is a very complicated story. I really enjoyed that show. On the other note, why I like that series so much is because you can see the complex character evolving and the storyline behind it. Like a protagonist is a antagonist also and a villain of that series. His ideology about freedom, choices, protecting his loved ones and what length you can go to save them, it is too good. Like how the story folds itself and how our character changes, how destruction happens and this event will take place further. It is all written in a story. It is one of the best.
