When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

    Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

One time when I missed an appointment, very important one was an interview to a college in for my post graduation. I tried, this was during when I was applying for many colleges and I had this one very important interview. I was supposed to travel to another city. I had taken an absence of leave from my job as well for this. I had planned everything very clearly. Just that my flight got delayed and since the flight got delayed, things just could not happen at that time. And the one thing that I understood that day was, if you, if the things start getting delayed, they will get delayed till the end point. So, firstly when my flight landed two hours late into that city, I, the cab that I had already booked, I could not take it. Secondly, I somehow was able to get in, get a cab, but I was stuck in traffic which even further delayed everything. So, the best part in the whole situation was that I was in constant contact with the HR of the, the person who was propagating this interview and I called them up. I tried rescheduling it and they understood my situation and finally, I was able to reschedule it for the next day. But at that moment, I felt really upset. I was frustrated. I did not know how to express myself. I felt it was not only the situation which went bad, it was lack of my time management. I started having self-doubt in those moments. I thought maybe I could have done something better. Maybe I could have just reached a day earlier.

In that month there was no schedule of the doctor so it was really a pathetic experience for me and I really got disheartened that day because I was also not well so I needed to visit the doctor immediately that day.

A time when I missed an important appointment was when I was preparing for my UG campus placement. So I missed one of the important interviews which was a very reputed company and it also had such a good LPS so that such that there was a huge competition for it. So I missed it because of my carelessness. I did not register for the company properly but thought that I had properly registered for it and I did not check on the deadlines and the timelines for the interviews leading me to miss the recruitment test and the online interview sessions. But missing such an opportunity was a kind of drop down for me but at the same time it gave me a huge learning making sure that I never missed any opportunities or an appointment in my life till now. So now I am working in a well-reputed company and more than that it is completely adaptable to my environment and perspectives. So I do not regret missing that opportunity or appointment on that day as I am in a better position today.

A time when I missed a doctor's appointment. In class 9th, I was practicing for my school assembly when I was dancing and I tried a flip and I landed badly. This I heard a crack sound but I did not pay a lot of attention to it. Soon after, my leg started to pain. I went to the school nurse and she tied a crepe bandage around it and told me it was probably just a sprain. I did not think much of it. I climbed 3 stories up to my class and when the school dispersed, I climbed 3 stories down back to the school bus. I once again walked to my home and by that time, my leg was very painful. I booked an appointment to the doctor. However, the pain was too much so I took a painkiller and I went to sleep. After that, when I woke up, I realized that I had missed the appointment. My mother thought that resting was more important so she let me sleep and when I woke up in the morning, my leg, I couldn't even move it. So when I finally booked the appointment again, I went to the doctor. They examined me and asked me to get an x-ray. I went to the shop nearby to get an x-ray and that x-ray was then sent to the doctor and the doctor figured that my leg was actually broken. It was a proper clean break and somehow I had managed to climb 3 stories up and down with a broken leg. I told this story to a lot of people and most of them were pretty surprised.

I would like to talk about an experience that I still find very disappointing when I happen to visit, when I happen to miss a crucial appointment with my philosopher and guide. It happened a year back when I got introduced to an interesting person named Manish Tapliyar who worked with me as a commissioner and he had a sound knowledge on the spiritual philosophies which totally inspired me during my interaction with him. And he gave me an appointment to discuss in detail on these topics on a weekend and it was scheduled at 7pm in his house. When I got prepared for that meeting on the morning of a Saturday, I found one disturbing phenomenon at home. One of my kids is not feeling well and I have to rush to the hospital and the doctor said that it needs some intensive care for the entire day. As a father, I have to be there taking care of that appointment and considering the situation, I thought of skipping the appointment with my mentor and I kindly requested him over the phone and explained the situation that I am facing and requested for rescheduling of the appointment that he was able to appreciate and reschedule the appointment the next week. So though I felt very bad on missing this appointment with him.
