For IELTS exam registration, you can choose between two primary options: Online and Offline. Both processes depend on the individual's convenience. 

 

To guide you through them, let’s break down all the information one by one in the sections below. 

 

Here's how you can apply for the IELTS exam.

 

IELTS Online Registration 2024-25
 

IELTS online registration is a simple and popular option among test-takers, and it is easily accessible in remote areas. The entire registration process typically takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. 

 

To register, you will need a few documents in hand, including a photocopy of your passport ID (both the front and back pages) and a signed and dated declaration document.

 

Here are the steps to apply:

 

  • You must log in to your account at the IDP IELTS India Website
  • Click 'Register for IELTS' to create your IDP IELTS login.
  • Choose your test format: computer-delivered IELTS or paper-based.
  • Then, you can select the preferred test type/module (Academic or General Training) 
  • Pick your preferred test location/city from available IELTS test centres in India.
  • After completing the above steps, you'll see a list of available dates. Choose a desired date and time slot for the test.
  • Complete your online application by providing the necessary information. To finalise your application, remember to upload a clear, scanned colour copy of your passport. 
  • Make the payment for your application. 
  • After successfully making the payment(via a valid credit card (Master / Visa)), you can download the acknowledgement receipt sent to your registered email or phone number.
Note: You can schedule your test online for IELTS paper booking based on your preferred date and time. If your preferred slot is unavailable, a time slot will be allocated automatically.

IELTS Offline Registration 2024-25

IELTS offline registration is straightforward. You can register for the exam at any IDP branch or head office using one of the following methods.

Method 1 (Online)
  • Register online from the IDP office and pay the test fee for instant seat confirmation.
  • Provide a photocopy of your Passport (first and last page), including observation pages, if any.
  • Submit the signed Terms & Conditions document after reading it carefully
  • Receive an immediate acknowledgement letter confirming your test seat
Method 2 (Offline)
  • Complete the IELTS application form at the IDP office
  • Sign the included Terms & Conditions document
  • Attach a photocopy of your Passport (first and last page), including observation pages if applicable.
Note:

  • After payment, kindly request the IDP branch / Input Node staff to submit your application in the online registration system.
  • You'll receive an acknowledgement slip for your IELTS academic booking and a tentative seat reservation.
  • Remember that if you've paid by bank draft, your seat confirmation will depend on the bank draft's clearance.
  • Method 3 (Registration via Courier)
    • Obtain the application form from the IELTS IDP India website or your nearest IDP branch office/Input Node.
    • Complete the application form.
    • Sign the Terms & Conditions document after thorough review.
    • Include a photocopy of your Passport (first and last page) and observation pages if applicable.
    • Attach either a Demand Draft for the test fee (drawn in favour of "IDP Education India Private Limited," payable at New Delhi, from an approved bank listed in the provided Terms & Conditions document) or enclose the original customer copy of the ICICI deposit slip if depositing cash at a nearby ICICI bank branch or likewise for HDFC deposit slip.
    • Send the filled application form, along with all required documents and the test fee, to the provided address- IDP Education India Pvt. Ltd., Global Gateway Towers, Tower-B, 5th Floor, Sikanderpur Ghosi, Sector - 26, M.G. Road, Gurugram - 122002
    Note: Your application will undergo a thorough process, and the seat allotment for the selected date will be subject to availability.
    Payment Methods for IELTS Registration:
    • Use a valid credit/debit/ATM card.
    • Provide a Demand Draft to "IDP Education India Private Limited," payable at New Delhi, from an approved bank (listed in the Terms & Conditions).
    • Deposit cash in an ICICI bank branch using a custom ICICI deposit slip, available for download from the IDP IELTS website or at any IDP branch/Input Node. Hand over the original customer copy of the customised ICICI deposit slip as proof of payment to the IDP branch/Input Node.

    IELTS Slot Booking 2024-25

    Booking an IELTS slot is a crucial step in the registration process, where you confirm your preferred exam slot. This ensures that you have a reserved place for the test on the selected date.
     

    It’s advisable to book your test slot at least 3-4 weeks prior to the test date, as spots may fill up fast!

    • Fill out the online registration form on the official IELTS website, provide personal and identification details, and select the test type (Academic or General Training).
    • You can pay the ₹17,000 exam fee online using various payment methods, such as credit/debit cards or net banking.
    • After successfully submitting the IELTS registration details and payment, you will receive a confirmation email/receipt with the test date, time, and venue details. Keep this information safe.
    • Secure your preferred IELTS test date and location by booking your slot well in advance.
    • Prepare for the exam using credible IELTS preparation materials and practice tests. Familiarise yourself with the test format and content to improve your chances of success.

     

    Additional Information:

     

    • You must be at least 18 years old to be eligible for the IELTS exam.
    • During registration, the information you provide must align with the details in your passport.
    • You must bring your passports on the test day.

    Documents Required for IELTS Exam Registration 2024-2025

     
    IELTS registration is a simple process that requires only 1 document. You only need your passport. 

     

    If you’re registering online, you must scan and upload the first and last pages of your passport. For offline registration, you must append a copy of the first and last page with your application. Also, attach the observation pages (if any).

    The IELTS exam registration fees for both Academic and General Training remain the same. However, the fee slightly differs for the IELTS UKVI booking.

    Cancellation or Rescheduling IELTS Exam 2024-25

     

    The IELTS cancellation policy states that if you cancel your IELTS application more than five weeks before the test date, you'll receive a refund with a 25% administrative fee deducted.
     

    However, if you cancel less than five weeks before the test or fail to appear for it, no refund is provided. This includes cases where non-appearance is considered a cancellation. On the other hand, those who can provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date can receive a refund after local administrative costs are deducted. 

     

    As for rescheduling, you can request a test date transfer at least five weeks before their original test date. Your new date must fall within three months of the initial one. This test date transfer has an administrative charge of ₹3,300, inclusive of all taxes.
