How to Calculate IELTS Results?

The final band score of IELTS is an average of the band score received individually in the four sections ie. Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The candidates are marked on a band scale of 0 to 9 based on their proficiency in each of the sections. Each section carries an equal weightage. The scores are usually given in both half and full bands which means you can score in the range of 5.0, 6.0 etc as well as 5.5, 6.5 etc. If the average comes out in a decimal point for instance 6.25 then the bands are adjusted to the nearest band score. In this case, the final band score will be 6.5
