If you want to send your scores to more than five universities, there might be an additional fee (INR 250 per request).. When you choose the physical mode, your IELTS score report is sent as a hard copy via postal mail or courier to the designated universities or institutions. It might take longer than the electronic mode, but it’s still a reliable way to ensure your scores reach the universities.

If a university doesn’t accept electronic submissions or if you prefer sending a hard copy, you can request an official Test Report Form (TRF) from the IELTS test centre where you took the exam.

IELTS Score Sending Fees

There is no extra fee for electronically sending the TRF to the university directly from an IELTS examination centre. However, if test-takers want to send their IELTS score to more than five universities, there is an extra charge of around $2.99(INR 250) for every additional university. This charge remains the same when physically sending the IELTS TRF to selected universities.

If a test taker wants to request additional TRFs from colleges after more than a month of the test, he/she needs to fill in a form known as the Application for the Issue of Additional TRFs. In this case, the candidate also needs to pay $2.99(INR 250) for every request.

Test Report Form (TRF)

The Test Report Form (TRF) is released within 3-5 days in case of computer-based tests and 13 days in case of paper-based tests. Test takers can either download the TRF online or collect it at IDP IELTS offices after the results are released. They need to bring the same identity proof used during registration.

Candidates will get one original Test Report Form unless they apply to UKBA (United Kingdom Border Agency) or CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada). In such cases, two TRFs are provided after proof of application is offered to CIC/UKBA.

An IELTS Test Report Form (TRF) includes the following information:

• Test Type: Indicates whether the test was Academic or General Training.
• Centre Number: This is the unique number assigned to the test centre where you took the exam.
• Test Date: The specific date on which you took the IELTS exam.
• Candidate Number: A unique identification number assigned to the candidate.
• Candidate Details: This section includes details such as Family Name, First Name, and Candidate ID.

How to Calculate IELTS Band Score
