Book IELTS Slot: Online

Step 1: Visit the official IELTS website or the website of an IELTS-affiliated body like IDP India.

Step 2: Select the ‘Register for test’ option and create a profile using your details.

Step 3: After creating a profile, you will be asked to select the exam format (computer-based or paper-based) and the type of exam (IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training).

Step 4: Choose your preferred test centre and exam date.

Step 5: Pay the fees using a card, net banking, or a mobile wallet.

Step 6: Receive an email confirmation of the payment. Check the details of the test slot that you have booked.

Step 7: Keep the registered email ID and password handy for future use. You may also mark the email as vital since it will be needed later.

Note: If the IELTS slot booking payment is made through cash or demand draft, then the application acknowledgement and copy of the fee receipt must be sent to the British Council office. You are advised to preserve the email as it might possess vital information that will be necessary later.

IELTS Slot booking Rescheduling & Cancellation

If you think you cannot take the IELTS test, it is critical to act fast and reschedule or cancel your test to ensure that your money is not wasted. For rescheduling the test:

• Candidates can reschedule or book an IELTS slot within 34+ days from the test date without stating any reason.
• To reschedule within 15 days of the exam, you must provide a valid reason and supporting documents (medical transcripts, police report, passport issues, death in the family, etc.). Submit all the documents and the motivation to book IELTS again, and you will be updated about the status within three days.

For cancelling the test:

• You will receive a refund without an administration fee if you cancel your test 5+ weeks from the test date.
• You may not receive any refund if you cancel the test 5 weeks or less from the test date without a valid medical reason.
• Fill out the request for cancellation on the IELTS website to move forward. Remember that a separate cancellation fee will be levied, and refunds will be processed within 8-10 days.
