Eligibility

Examinations are given a lot of weight at Cambridge University because of its high academic requirements. The eligibility requirements may change depending on whether you wish to pursue undergraduate or graduate degrees.

 

Undergraduate: Indian students will have to present excellent grades in their 12th board exams, but that alone is insufficient. However, the following additions may boost your chances of getting admission:

 

  • Ranking under 2000 in the IIT JEE (Advanced) (For the courses Chemical Engineering, Engineering, Natural Sciences (Physical)) 
  • STEP: May be required for subjects such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, and Economics.
  • Grade 5 appeared in more than five College Board Advanced Placement Exam examinations.

 

 English Language Requirements

 

Candidates must submit proof of the following English proficiency score requirements: 

 

  • IELTS Academic1 – minimum grade of 7.5, usually with 7.0 or above in each element
  • TOEFL Internet Based Test (IBT) – minimum score of 110, with 25 or above in each element

Admission Process

The University of Cambridge has a separate admission process for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Accommodation

The university offers on-campus accommodation to all students who join. Depending on the college chosen, you can avail of accommodation from the 29 colleges that provide housing facilities. Some housing may be on the campus, while the others may be close to the campus or in the city center. Either way, these properties are safe and functional; most importantly, they feel like home. Several colleges provide meal plan options as part of the accommodation packages. Costs can vary between GBP 340 and GBP 600 a month.
