Show all 25 answers

Cue 1:What is it?

  • Clearly state the rule you dislike and provide a brief context about it.
  • Mention where this rule is applied, such as at school, home, or workplace.

Example

One rule that I really dislike is the strict dress code at my college. We are required to wear formal attire every day, which feels quite unnecessary for a learning environment.

Cue 2:Why don't you like it?

  • Explain the reasons for your dislike, focusing on how it affects you or others.
  • Share any personal experiences that highlight your feelings about this rule.

Example

I find this rule frustrating because it limits our self-expression. For instance, I feel more comfortable and confident in casual clothes, and wearing formal attire makes me feel out of place and less productive.

Cue 3:How do you feel about it?

  • Describe your emotional response to this rule, whether it causes frustration, anger, or indifference.
  • Consider discussing any actions you have taken or would like to take regarding this rule.

Example

This rule makes me feel quite annoyed and stifled. I often wish I could speak to the administration about it, but I hesitate because I fear it might not change anything. Overall, it leaves me feeling disheartened about my college experience.

Conclusion

  • Summarize your main points about the rule and your feelings towards it.
  • End with a reflection on how rules can impact our daily lives.

Example

In conclusion, while rules are often put in place for a reason, I believe that some, like the strict dress code at my college, can hinder our individuality and comfort. It’s important for institutions to find a balance between maintaining order and allowing personal expression.

Following this structure will ensure you cover all the essential points while providing a clear and engaging response to the cue card topic.

When I was a kid, I had a little pencil box which had these four buttons which gave the pencil box an operative use. When you press the button, the box would open up. When you press the second button, a little part of it would slide out. Basically it was just a little electronical and a fun thing to have and I owned it when I was in 6th. One day after break, I was standing and talking there with one of my friends and another friend of mine was running through the hallway and accidentally she pushed my shoulder and my pencil box hit the ground and it broke into multiple pieces to the point that it was not functional anymore.

Answer

It Ends With Us is a book I read recently. It's by the author Colleen Hoare. It's mainly a story about two teenagers, Atlas and Lily, and how they just handle their life going through high school, adolescence, and just domestic violence at home. Both of them come from very, very different families. However, they have one common determining factor between them, which is domestic violence. The abuse that they've seen their moms go through is just insane, and they connect through that on a different level. They're actually in the same high school, but they never speak to each other until Atlas actually crashes into an empty house next to Lily's villa. When Atlas is homeless and he doesn't have anywhere to go, he just comes and breaks into the house next to Lily's, and Lily helps him with all the daily necessities like clothes and food, medicines and stuff. Furthermore, their friendship blossoms into love, but it doesn't really fructify as Atlas has to leave. This book really gave me a lot of knowledge about domestic abuse and how to deal with it.

I respect all the rules of our country, there is no such rules which I am not respecting. I respect all the rules, the rules were made by our ancestors, by lots of studies, these all rules were made for our benefit itself. So I don't think so that, I don't think that any rules are bad and it prevents us from doing something. So whichever the rules may be, like marriage act, child labor act or other rules like daughter should be given the share in the land, properties of father, all those acts, I think that's all benefit for the society itself. Like marriage, marriage act was done, there is a rules on marriage that the girl should attain 18 years old and the boy should attain the 21 years because before that if you marry, you will not be matured enough to understand the concept of marriage, that's the reason the government has done such a rule and like even the child labor that it was abolished because the reason is you will not get the education proper and you will be abused and go for like go through the bullying this thing, so this is, this should be avoided, other than that like share in the land.

One rule that I never liked is the marriage age for a woman is above 18. I think a woman whose age is 18 means she is just pursuing his or her, sorry, she is just pursuing a B.Tech or any degree. Nowadays, a woman does not have any proper idea in that age. So, I think it's not a correct idea of getting married after 18. And I think it also restricts her freedom and her parents never allowed her to do what she wants to achieve in her future. So, I think the age of a woman to get married should be extended like 21 or 22, at least after her B.Tech or degree so that they will have some knowledge of society and life and they also can improve their personality so that they can achieve something in their life and there should not be any pressure from parents till then about marriage so that many women can achieve whatever goals they can and pursue their own ambitions just like men because they are also a citizen of the world and they are the future, they are even capable just like men, however, only few women are coming up nowadays, so more consent should be there for women too about the marriage age limit. If the rules are strong then automatically parents also mindset will change and they can be allowed to do whatever they want.

In our country, there is one rule which has to be followed strictly, because government already put the rule on smoking, if the person fine while smoking, they have to pay the fine of 1000 rupees, but still some people are not maintaining and adopting that rule and they are breaking that rule and I don't like that kind of rule breakers, because it creates air pollution and many of the time, the person who are sick and specially young kids, they suffer from this reason and many of us are suffering by this smoking, first of all, the government should put one special team to detect, special team to find out who is smoking in the open areas like garden, foods and travelling places like bathrooms, police, railway station and whenever we see, we find many people who are smoking in the open area, they don't care about the other person who are suffering from this issue, the person who is smoking, he is also harming himself from inside, that's why I feel that the government should strictly put the rule of fine more than 1000 rupees and arrange one team, special team to find out the person who is breaking the rules and put the surveillance camera more to find out that.

Generally, rules are made to create discipline and harmony in the society. I like the rules and I also used to follow all the rules and regulations on a regular basis like traffic rules, like for example, you should follow traffic light because it will be good for the society. However, there are some rules which I don't like. The first rule is like to carry a physical ID on the shop. In some countries in Europe, you don't need to carry your physical ID. You can just show them the digital photos or PDF file to the person who is asking about the ID because ID is a very confidential document. If you have to carry an ID on a regular basis, then there will be a chance that your ID will be lost and it will cause a lot of trouble because then you have to apply for physical ID again and it will take a lot of time and it also waste a lot of money for the people who is applying. So I want to request to the government that they can also accept a digital ID instead of taking a physical ID from the person. So it will...

I generally do not like the traffic rule of over speeding because it costs very heavy on the driver's part. So it should be installed only at the distant places. So the over installation of the cameras should not be allowed and it should be regulated by the traffic authorities. Also the speed breaker and the U-turn curves in the societies are also very hectic. So it generally bumps the car up and it is also not good for the spine health of the driver. Some people also get their brakes at the end moment so the passengers that are on the other vehicle like on the bike and on the cycle got panicked and they may sometimes also fell down. So that's the rule can be avoided. It should be regulated according to the rules of traffic authorities. It should be reviewed and all the white markers should be installed near the speed breakers. So that is the two to three things that I generally do not like in the traffic rules. All other rules are very fine but the implication of rules.

So, usually we don't have, I didn't have much practice on English language. So they, out of nowhere they just started that rule. So it was really difficult to adjust. So, I repeatedly used to get, I repeatedly used to like start speaking in Hindi, which used to get me in trouble. A lot of times I have to pay a lot of fine because of that. So, I think it's a really stupid rule to apply. Because in school, school is a place to learn. So, by limiting ourselves to only one language, it was really unfair for other students. Because in India, we have like 28 states. So, and most of the states don't speak in Hindi. So, like enforcing a rule where you have to only speak in English was a really weird or really obscure rule. So, I used to think like that. But right now, I believe that teachers were right. And it was like I really have to step up my game. I really have to. So,

Band 5-6

the rule I don't like is coming to college before 8.30 or else coming to college on time because we are students we have to wake up at 7 o'clock we have to make everything ready and doing breakfast it will take time to refresh so coming before 8.30 is difficult to me that's why I don't like the rule and when my feeling to attend the rule is very the feeling of that rule will be removed because if we came five minutes late to class the teacher won't allow to class it's a little bit difficult to maintain the rule so we have to change the rule I don't feel very I don't feel about that rule will work on students if you will late to five minutes to the class we have to stand outside the class entire one hour time it makes no nonsense to students so we can't waste our time of one hour violating by coming late to five minutes I don't think so it will work so people should change that rule into very convenient way to the

Yes, I definitely disagree with wearing helmets while travelling on two wheelers because it distracts everything while you... Do you know how it is very much uncomfortable for a rider behind who is following you? He in front, front vehicle driver doesn't know what is going behind him. He just pass away with his helmet but the follower who is overcoming you, he doesn't, does not able to follow because the side review, side viewing with eyes is almost zero with wearing helmets. So lot of accidents are causing this, is due to this phenomenon. So I strictly want to make some arrangements for the preparation of helmets. It should be transparent. Helmet should be completely transparent. Otherwise looking sidewards are very much restricted causing lot of damages, lot of accidents. This is very much inconvenient for me actually. So I prefer not wearing helmets.

Band 5-6

A role that I don't like would be the uniform courts in the school because I've studied in a school which had very orthodox method of teaching and to a point the teachers were involved in your private matters as well. It didn't always… that's in my opinion very regressive because that's the way a person express, the way you carry a cloth tells a lot about you, that's a way a person can express but then if you're killing the creativity like if in the bud itself nobody is going to bloom. So I never liked that role as a child nor do I have any change of opinion by now. You have to let the kid have some creativity over how you carry the cloth or at least have a little band or a little bracelet whatever you want to wear in your hand or anklets or whatever or even earrings, it's a way you express. Maybe that piece of accessory will give you a lot of confidence, why would you stop somebody like that, that's a role that I don't enjoy.
