Scholarship Roundup: August 15, 2026: Every Open Award Indian Students Can Apply for Right Now
The July scholarship rush is over. Fulbright-Nehru closed on July 1. Rhodes and the DAAD Helmut-Schmidt closed on July 31. But the August window is not empty. In several ways, it is more significant.
Chevening opens on August 5, 2026, which is eleven days from today. The SMU Science and Technology Undergraduate Scholarship has a confirmed deadline of August 10, 2026. The DAAD General Study Scholarship is open with an October 15 deadline, and applications submitted now get reviewed first. And the full September to November 2026 wave, including Vanier Canada, JICA, and Knight-Hennessy, begins opening within weeks.

Why this matters for Indian students: SMU is ranked in the global top 500, and Singapore offers a post-study work pass with no annual cap. Tuition at SMU for international students runs approximately SGD 17,000 to SGD 22,000/year (approximately Rs. 12.61 lakh to Rs. 16.32 lakh). A full tuition waiver removes the highest single cost of studying in Singapore.
