The University of Delaware in Newark, Delaware, is a public land-grant research university established in 1833. With the main campus in Newark, the institution also operates satellite campuses in Dover, Wilmington, Lewes and Georgetown.
Delaware University has been ranked among the top 100 universities nationally and has over 24,000 students. Being the largest university in Delaware, UD comprises nine colleges, five academic schools, and several research centres offering 148 undergraduate, 121 postgraduate, 60 doctoral, and 13 joint degrees in full-time, part-time, and online.
Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Chemistry and Finance are some of the most popular courses. The very diverse study-abroad program having multiple options is also very famous because the university manages ties with more than 40 countries.
With an acceptance rate of 65%, the applications must be filled through the official website for intake into the Fall and Spring semesters. Academic transcripts, LORs, essays, CV and scores of English Language Proficiency tests, SAT, ACT etc., should also be submitted along with an application fee of 75 USD. The average undergraduate tuition fee is 17,080 USD, and postgraduate programs are around 34,164 USD.
Need-based loans and merit-based scholarships like UD Trustee Scholarship worth 16,000 USD and the UD Presidential Scholarship worth 13000 USD are awarded. On-campus accommodation in 22 residential buildings accommodating up to 7500 students is provided in traditional rooms, suites and apartments at the starting price of 8,152 USD per year.
More than 400 student clubs and organizations and the Morris Library at the main campus are also available for assistance. Fighting' Blue Hens, the athletic teams of UD, consist of sports like hockey, rowing, basketball, soccer, golf and lacrosse, having 36 club sports. More than 95% of Delaware graduates get employed or pursue further education, and the average annual package for an MBA graduate is 88,632 USD.
