Humboldt State University, a public university in Arcata, California, is a 23-institute California State University member. Founded in 1913, the main campus spreads over 144 acres and many satellite campuses and other academic buildings. With an acceptance rate of 77%, Humboldt ranks 37th among the Regional Universities of the west. The three academic colleges, namely College of Natural Resources and Sciences, College of Professional Studies, and College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, offer 48 undergraduate, 12 postgraduate, 73 minors, 51 majors, and 14 credential degrees. 

 

Various unique programs like Botany, Rangeland Resources and Wildland Soil Science, Native American Studies, Oceanography and Energy, Environment and Society are also offered. Applications through the official website are to be filled for intake into the Fall and Spring semesters with an application fee of 55 USD and 70 USD for undergraduates and postgraduates, respectively. Academic transcripts, LORs, essays, CV and scores of English Language Proficiency tests, SAT, ACT, etc., should also be submitted. 

 

The average undergraduate tuition and fee are 17,368 USD, whereas that for postgraduate courses is 16,426 USD. However, an MBA degree can amount to 36,201 USD per year. Financial aid is provided through the HSU International Student Scholarship worth 1000 USD - 2,000 USD for academic achievers, athletic scholarships, and work-study facilities available at the campus. 

 

On-campus accommodation in traditional halls, suite-style, and apartments are provided to almost 2,100 students in single, double, and triple occupancy rooms. The housing expense ranges from 4,938 USD to 8,686 USD and an application fee of 200 USD, while the meal plans cost from 2,176 USD to 6,924 USD. The campus provides several Greek life societies, more than 200 student clubs, organizations, and sports like rugby, baseball, volleyball, basketball, track, etc. With a high placement rate, Humboldt graduates have an annual median salary of 36,600 USD.
