The California Institute of Technology was established in 1891 as a private institution with a 124-acre campus in Pasadena, California. The university is spread across six academic divisions, namely, the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering and division of Chemistry, Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences, Division of Engineering and Applied Science, Division of the Humanities and Social Sciences, Division of Physics, Mathematics, and Astronomy.

The university provides bachelor's, master's, engineering, computers, science, humanities, business, BSc, BBA, MS, and BTech courses. The institution offers majors in applied and computational mathematics, geology, astrophysics, biology, business, economics & management, chemical engineering, and chemistry.
