Academic Requirements
For undergraduate courses, you'll need a Class 12 qualification. Indian students seeking admission are required to secure a minimum of 80% overall, with 75% in three subjects. For postgraduate courses, a bachelor's degree from a highly ranked university in India is necessary, with a minimum of 60% or a GPA of 8 on a 10-point scale. If you are from an Institute of Eminence or an Institute of National Importance, you should achieve 55% or more, or a GPA of 7.0. Official transcripts will be required for your application. For PhD programs, a master’s degree in a related field is typically required, as well as a research proposal.
Language Proficiency You must demonstrate English language proficiency. The following tests are accepted:
●IELTS: Minimum overall score of 6.5, with at least 5.5 in each component. Some programs, such as the MSc in Management require a 7.0 overall.
●TOEFL: Minimum overall score of 92, with at least 20 in each component. Some programs such as the MSc in Management require 100 on the iBT.
●PTE: Some courses require a minimum of 61. The MSc in Management requires a minimum of 70.
●Cambridge: Overall score of 176.
Application Fees The application fee at the University of Edinburgh is applicable only on a few courses. The application fee for undergraduate programs is around GBP 27.5 (INR 2,886) when applying through UCAS. The application fee is free for postgraduate courses.
