A public polytechnic institute in Alberta, Canada, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT), established in 1916, comprises nine academic schools, namely the School of Business, School of Transportation, and School of Construction, that offer career-based courses in over ten areas of interest. Some certificate and diploma courses are: Architectural Technologies, Energy Asset Management, Hospitality Management, and Pharmacy Assistant. There are four campuses, the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary, the Main Campus, the Mayland Heights, SAIT Culinary, and Art Smith Aero Centre.
The institute offers Continuing Education programs concerning Health & Wellness, Graphic & Media Arts, Food & Hospitality, etc., to help enhance professional skills and part-time courses like Business Administration, Land Analyst, Data Analytics, etc. Through the Open Studies program, students can choose different credit courses to discover their interests and aptitudes.
It provides apprenticeship courses in over 30 trades. SAIT also provides business and industry training to over 11,000 industry partners. Southern Alberta Institute of Technology has a graduate employment rate of 91%.
Accommodation is available on-campus in 1, 2, and 4-bedroom suites and studio apartments at Begin Tower and East Hall. There are over 60 student clubs and societies to join, like Enactus and Phi Theta Kappa. Some fitness facilities are the Wellness Centre, Cohos Commons Field, squash courts, the Arena, etc.
Financial aid includes awards, loans, scholarships, and bursaries like Canada Apprentice Loans, Bissett Bursary Program, and Allied Van Lines Scholarship.
